One of the letters in that acronym is not like the other, and they are the ones starting trouble here.
I always wondered how the T got there. LGB is for homosexuals right?

Well Trans people make it very very clear they are not gay. A transwomen is not a gay man and a cisman who bangs a transwomen is NOT gay according to transpeople. If you say you are gay or even bi for dating a transwomen that gets you perma banned at REEEEEEEEE.

So if they aren't gay why are they in the LGB?

Power. The T was added in the 90s and changed the meaning of the group from people who might sleep with their own gender to "DUN DISCRIMINATE AGAINST US".

If you think I'm crazy, look up what GLAAD means nowadays. Gays and lesbians no longer have their own groups, they are being pushed out of the ones they created by trans folk.

In the beginning, there were some in the Gay and Lesbian communities trying to keep out Bisexual people...saying falsely that they were really just gay but afraid to commit.

Of course, there are always going to be angry outliers within communities trying to bring about their own divisive agenda. These loud and angry outspoken individuals absolutely do not speak for the LGBT+ community umbrella at all. The current LGBT+ community and GLADD are about inclusivity among the various sexualities and gender identity minorities. It's about coming together to be stronger as a whole.

To call it disheartening would be an extreme understatement.

See that's the thing, they were all about inclusivity in the various sexualities. I feel that spreading their vision diluted their efforts.

That isn't to say that Trans folk shouldn't have organizations dedicated to them, far from it! I just feel that having dysphoric individuals being serviced by a group specializing in sexuality does a disservice to these groups and... to be absolutely frank, I feel the pairing of the two hurts the legitimacy of both. Those suffering from dysphoria shouldn't be looked at as if this is a sexual thing, and LGBs shouldn't be getting grouped in with all the individuals that are literally denying reality to suit their narrative.

There can be specialists for dysphoric individuals and specialists for those who are attracted to the same gender. Right now it just feels like society is putting us in a "you guys are strange" group and that kind of bothers me.

I can see there being a separate community for gay men, lesbian women, and both bisexual and asexual people. In many ways, it makes sense to me for intersex people and transgender people to have a separate category, as it has nothing to do with who they are attracted to (or lack thereof).

Still, I can't help but wonder if there would be drastically less effort of support for intersex or transgender individuals if they were separated out. It's hard to know what the exact outcome would be, but I can understand both viewpoints.

Support for lgb has dropped dramatically over the last few years when it comes to federal funding while t has a budget that dwarves the others combined.

I get your concern, but the opposite is actively happening. I mean, I'm sure you are right but that extra support is being taken from others to give to the trans community.

I can understand thinking that lgb people "won their battle" with the whole marriage thing but I'll tell you, the sudden dearth of support is deafening.
