Valve does a great job staying true to balance in Dota, but apart from that they can be really fucking annoying. They did this indirectly with the Dota compendium, where you got dyes for the river based on your level, which pretty much only went up by spending... Oh, and the dyes had 10 uses.

Really hope they do something cool for Halloween for any of their games this year, they could use the goodwill.

Why are people saying "But this isn't F2P!"?

Microtransactions have been in sixty dollar games for years. We have collectively allowed this.

It's pretty awful that they're limited use.

They always do a Halloween update for TF2.

Nobody ever uses these limited quantity items Valve adds. I don't know why they even bother

TF2 noisemakers? TF2 dueling tokens? Dota 2 river paint? Nobody ever uses any of those because they're limited use items.

I do see people use dueling minigames sometimes but not a whole lot.

well... Valve is kinda big on the free game train so it makes sense to question it. They justify it by smurfing/hackers but monetizing sprays is hilariously awful.

I remember back in the day playing CS and you'd see goatse and crap all over the place....

With the recent happening with Washington and the whole CS:GO gambling thing I guess they had to look at other ways to make money now that that well is drying up.

Good for them. I don't agree with it, but I'm sure there's plenty of people who will chomp at the bit for it.

I'm usually not super bothered by cosmetic related microtransaction things but this is super fucking shitty.

I sprayed so much hentai back in the day. The adult in me says this is for the better. Middle school me firmly disagrees.

What truly amazes me is that they managed to think of a worse way to implement sprays than blizzard did.

Its bad enough that theyre considered rewards, but theyre also limited use so you gotta get more?

༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give DIRETIDE

Instead, enjoy yet another broken, barely tested Halloween update for TF2. Thanks, and have fun.
Bonus Ducks

Why did they remove it in the first place?

I believe Valve wanted to make CSGO a more serious, more professional game. Sprays are fun, but they just lead to porn being sprayed everywhere.

And young dudes with disposable income will buy this and provide data to Valve telling them that this is a "valuable" thing.

predetermined sprays as well. hm. Well at least the community gets a share of the money that way. And you can randomly get it as a drop, I'm assuming those will be predetermined on drop rather then a selection of some sort.

I can deal with them monetizing sprays, it's the limit that just makes it that much more gross.

People still actin like Valve isn't at the forefront of terrible moneygrubbing. Can't wait for this to become standard like $2.50 crate keys
