Written by Brian Mitsoda, the creative mind behind the original, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 brings the ambitions of the first to life and sees the return of a few fan favorite characters. Those narrative ambitions are bolstered by Cara Ellison, exploring the effects of the mass embrace on regular Seattleites

The first person scenes are animated in a way that it's impossible to see it as gameplay but good for them if they get close to the concept in the final game.

No big deal, just a sequel to one of the best games ever made.

It’s not just politics where Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 takes a progressive approach. The character creator, which players get to use twice – once at the start to define your human aspects and then a second time later in the game to flesh out your vampire – goes way beyond basic male and female models. Body type, gender pronouns, employment history and fashion can all be toyed with for a very modular build.

On a separate note (as I'm still quite bitter about the whole Epic exclusivity thing):

See?! THIS is how you do PROPER competition. THIS is what the free PC market is about. Not moneyhatted exclusives.

Fucking WHOAAAAAAAAAA, I can't BELIEVE this is real! I literally made a comical shocked expression when I saw this.

Cyberpunk 2077 got me wishing for a new Vampire The Masquerade game and here it is, I honestly did not expect this one bit.

FUCK this is incredible news, I mean... wow.

I mean the first game shat on the Bush administration explicitly and featured tons of degeneracy includong rampant drug use, pornography, and prostitution. Its not exactly goin after the sunday church crowd lol its supposed to show seedy nightlife. Leave your morals at the main menu.

Gender pronouns? 😑

Yup. Unless the game punishes you for going in a non-progressive far-left route, I actually don't have problems with that. The original Bloodlines was also a rather liberal title, it just came out in times when people were not that divided.

Using gender pronouns is stupid as fuck though, no matter what.

Employment history?

The original also had that, especially with the restored content in WESP's unofficial patch. Apart from the gender pronouns things (seriously?!?), everything else was present in the original game.

I mean, the original was in Los Angeles and this one is in Seattle, so that would not be far-fetched with the city's politics I suppose.

I don't remember that from the original (never played the patch). I just have this picture in my head of a guy walking into an office with a Nosferatu wearing a suit, sitting behind a desk holding his resume. "I see you have three years experience working at Home Depot. What skills do you think you learned there, and how do you think they could be applied to being the best Blackula you can be?"

Fuckin' WOW! The annoucement trailer is amazing, but I'm sceptical about the game cuz they haven't showed the actual gameplay, dialogues with characters, combat etc. (like Obsidian did with The Outer Worlds) and... yeah, we need to see all this no matter how cool this announcement is. I'm just one step away from hitting pre-order button and buying Blood Moon Edition, but I need to see the gameplay please, at least 15-20 min or a gameplay trailer.

Absolutely, for PC this is the way to go, let people buy games on the store they prefer, you still get the money, even more money when you don't shut some PC platforms out......I think Metro devs are already regretting that decision.....The crazy thing is, sometimes I buy a PC game across multiple platforms, like the first bloodlines, I have it on GOG and on steam, DRM free is pretty swell on GOG and is incentive enough for me in most cases..........I have even considered getting Witcher GOTY on Steam many times (since have it on GOG), only because I have the other two games on steam, so there's that.....

In any case, looks like the bloodline devs are making all the right decisions here....Kudos to them, that they are allowing good sense to prevail....

Honestly a bit skeptical. Brian Mitsoda hasn't really rocked the world since and the *politics* answer doesn't really inspire confidence in me.

The Tribe Has Spoken
Had me excited until “gender pronouns”. Sycophants. Interested to see what the end result is.

This is one of the best news i did not expect to receive.

I really recommend everyone to play Vampire Masquerade 1, the combat may be clumsy but it is very well written

Seriously, the last half decade, hell DECADE of gaming has been an utter disappointment. Finally something to be excited about.

Just broke my own rules and pre-ordered the Unsanctioned Deluxe Edition on GOG. They are giving 8 EUR wallet credit for its preorder, which I used for Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, both of which are on deep sale right now and would cost ~35 EUR otherwise.

This makes 70 EUR for these gems. All DRM-free. Can't ask for a better deal.

I told myself I wouldn't pre-order any more games this year then I come home and see a game announced that I've wanted for years. I can't wait to jump back into this world. The original is the first PC game I purchased with my own money after building my first rig in 2005.

Lots to like, but gender pronouns... Eugh. That'll be due to RPS 'writer' Cara Ellison I suspect. The SJW infiltration is complete.

How much of a role in writing do Cara Ellison, Chris Avellone and Brian Mitsoda have though?

It appears that Mitsoda will once again write the majority of the game's lore, characters, dialogues etc.

I hope Ellison stays as far from the game as possible.

Do we know whether some of the Troika people are working on this? Or is it a completely new team? (I am excited as hell regardless, though)
