I'm keeping my expectations in check after some latest duds like Ace Combat 7 and to a lesser extent NieR Automata. Vampire the Masquerade is one of my all time favorite RPGs and I played through it many times but I have my doubts that the sequel will be just as good. The reason why the 1st one worked so well was because of: it was a new and fresh theme; it has astonishingly good writing; so many different factions to choose from at the start which have major differences in the way you play, not just stat differences but the entire game is vastly different whether you pick Nosferatu, Malkavian or Toreador. I'm just not sure they can capture the same spirit of wonder and excitement along with very solid writing and player choices that make an impact.

I don't know if anyone from the old Troika has ended up to what ever team under Paradox is working on this, but two out of the three Troika founders (Cain and Boyarsky) are at Obsidian and the third one (Anderson) is at Turtle Rock.
I'm not going to pre-order because that's a very silly thing to do, but you can bet your butt I'm going to get the GOG version as long they don't end up screwing this thing up.

It just occurred to me, will multiple pronouns have any major impact on VO? Can we expect full VO with 4, 5 or more pronouns or are they just saying that you can use he/she regardless of gender?

so the only one person who worked on Vampire the Masquerade is working on Vampire 2 , well i need to see more about this before getting excited , as far as i am concerned this is a Vampire RPG with Bloodlines slapped on the front and wont have the soul that the original had , installed by the great and underrated Troika Games ( Tim Cain fucking legend )

Hopefully she's just there to give female players some hypersexualiced males to have fun with just like world of darkness is filled with hypersexualiced women. I'm fine with that as long the game doesn't try to shove some angry feminist ideology down my throat.
Well Tim only really did a bit of programming work on Bloodlines. That said it also misses Leonard Boyarsky and Jason Anderson who were both the top dogs on Bloodlines as Project and Creative Director respectivly.

so it's the Bioware issue , all the talented people left and all we have now is a shell of it's former self. Ill keep my eye on Bloodlines 2 and wait for more information.

Bro, I don't know if you know me but I am probably the biggest fan of EDF here, I know the review was trash and it showed massive lack of understanding about the game but I can appreciate some parts of it. At least she gave it a 5 unlike this shit(it is a cached version of Jim Sterling's review in plain text form, I don't know why it doesn't work normally).

This raises a lot of question though since it's a direct sequel to Bloodlines, wasn't the world supposed to have ended soon after that game and White Wolf started a "New World of Darkness" brand new continuity? Does Bloodlines jettison all that and focus on the original World of Darkness continuity?

Im a massive EDF fan so i'd have a claim on being the biggest fan here too, I was furious at the time, and i looked into her work after. What annoys me in this particular moment is the hypocrisy, she will be raging if any reviewers dont give the game / her part of it a full and fair in depth critique, yet she's allowed to shit out some ill researched SJW joke piece regarding other people's work. That EDF review of hers could have been done after 5 minutes of youtube footage, zero actual gameplay experience was needed. The game was used as a platform for her lousy schtick.
tldr, another crap journo now turned creator, who will demand to be taken seriously after years of unprofessional conduct.

It was dumb when it was in that Battletech game from last year, but It's very true to the spirit of Vampire The Masquerade.
What wouldn't be true to the spirit of Vampire The Masquerade though is a lack of sexual content, this is my main concern, hopefully this will be one game SJWs will allow to be very sexual, the large breasted woman seen in the trailer seems to point to it being on the right path.
By the way, between Battletech, Bloodlines 2 and Cyberpunk 2077, does it seems like tabletop/pen and paper games are having a real renaissance in video games? As someone who's never experienced that type of gaming but has always been fascinated by it I love that.
Now all we need is a new Crimson Skies game.

I hope more tabletop games make it over, especially some of the horror ones. I never really dived too heavy into them, but I've seen them played with Spotify playlist music designed for them to add ambience in the background which was cool.
I remember my uncle was huge into BattleTech. Had tons of books, tons of kits, I remember going to the Hobby Shops with him getting new pewter figures where he would paint up. He always wanted to sit down me and teach me one day but never had that time. He did get me into the MechWarrior games on the PC in the mid-90s on however.

If the game is good, I can see past that. But usually, when devs "waste" time and therefore money on such features, it means other - more important aspects of the game - will get less love and care. We'll see, definitely appreciate the announcment, the first one is supposed to be a damn fine game. Never had the chance to play it though.
