Guys, I think I just finished the game?

Is that it? Like, for real? That doesn't feel like an ending, is there something more to it?
Last thing I did was fight the red/blue androids....
Mikami has never confirmed it, but the game was clearly rushed at the ending, probably due to time. And then he left, which ended future plans.

I mean there is a major sequel hook right there in the final cutscenes, but Platinum have never been willing to follow-up with a new director, which really sucks.

So, i just finished the game on God-Hard difficulty.

the final boss took me 189 tries. that about 3/4 of my play-through's total deaths.
holy cow that is without a doubt the most difficult thing i have ever pushed myself to complete in a game, but i freaking did it, and boy was it a ton of fun.

im probably gon take a bit of a break from the game before going all in on the Challenges, but i am curious, how does the challenges difficulty stack up against God-Hard, and that final boss in particular?

I wish they remastered this it looks dated and ugly even at max settings and everything doesn't hold up well looks like a straight up port just gave an option to do the last gen visuals just more cleaner pretty much

Ah. I forgotten that this was a huge factor too. It's upsetting. Vanquish really is damn awesome in respect to gameplay. I cannot stand people that force themselves to play the game like Gears of War - which is absolutely wrong - then only to complain when they get blasted to kingdom come because they refuse to change the way they think. Also, instead of saying that they need to adjust their play, they proceed to complain about the robots and many other minor elements as excuses. It's like a street fighter playing trying to play King of the Fighters like Street Fighter then starts to whine and say that King of the Fighters is not a good game. You just don't do it. I'm not saying that Vanquish is perfect for that isn't the case, but the game reeks fun beyond many other third person action games.

This is a good example of a player that doesn't "get it" and the other does. Unfortunately, it is what it is and not all games can please everyone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_UaQ0xmWNY

Agreed somewhat. All the textures are not high-res. I really hope the modding scene are working on upping those textures and improve the lightening and explosions. It would look insane if they could.

I knew the narrative would be dumb, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. It's pretty atrocious.

Gunplay is of coruse really good.

I really liked this review. It's kind of the perfect encapsulation of someone who really gets and loves Vanquish trying to explain it to someone who just doesn't get it, but it doesn't devolve into any hostility or anything like that.

Geez why do Sam and Steve Blum talk with such a gruff voice? I mean it's one thing that they smoke, but come on.

Any tips to improving the visuals by any chance?

if the game is just 2GB and the rest are cinema scenes, is there a way to replace the latter with compressed videos to save space?

I'm trying to run the game at 144FPS but it keeps locking itself to 60FPS. My monitor is already set to 144Hz. Game refresh rate is set to 144Hz too, I tried toggling V-Sync but nothing.

Vanquish and Bayonetta have a very strange look, where everything is kinda washed out and the environments are this swimming sea of grey. It's kinda unappealing.

Congrats.
Challenges 6 is equally harder or a tiny bit harder ...it's best to not take a break or it will be harder for you to conquer all 6 challenges later when you get colder at the game.

Keep it going champ.

I used a reshade preset some months ago, that made contrast and showed off texture details better.
There are few so it should the be the most recent one on thelazy.

hey guys, anybody had the bug that whenever you try and either: alt+tab while in the game, or when you simply quit the game to desktop - it just goes to a black screen and nothing fixes it but a hard reboot?

i read it might have something to do with g-sync, but i'm hoping there's an alternate solution as i'd obviously prefer to play with g-sync on.
