[VGA] Psychonauts 2 Trailer

I'm glad they showed mostly ambiguous gameplay snippets.

A huge part of the charm of the first game was never knowing what the next person's mental landscape was going to be like.
For that reason, I'm hesitant to even watch this trailer again. If this has the same charm as the first going in blind will be a real treat.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Hope it delivers, I actually didn't like how the first game played, all the rest elements were neat though, I'd have been happier had that been an adventure game originally rather than a platformer :)

Same here. If they can make the gameplay interesting while still keeping the atmosphere of the original, I'm in.

They showed off a lot more gameplay and in-engine cutscenes than I expected. To be honest, I always assumed this would be vaporware, but here it is, a real game! I am liking the art direction and the fact that it is a direct continuation from the first title, not a spinoff or a "reimagining".

I'd be up for more of it. As long as the level design is better than the first one.

Wait what? you didnt like the level design of the first one? I think is masterpiece, all level were originals in some ways andI thought it was genius.

Psychonauts 1 is one of the greatest games of all time. Shame is so overlooked, it truly is a masterpiece.

Please don't fuck this up. Please don't fuck this up. Please don't fuck this up.

It played fantastically, you heretic.
And you can't really have an experience like the milkman level with an adventure gameplay.

Looks like they're going for continuity in design rather than any kind of tonal shift or reworking... in fact the character models almost look like auto-upscaled conversions of their origin geometry with nicer textures. But that's probably a good thing, so long as the writing and gameplay remains creative. The original game was memorable largely for being so unpredictable in its direction, so they face a bigger hurdle here to ensure we're still surprised, rather than feeling like a level pack for the original game's vision.

Psychonauts is one of those games forum users yell about wanting a sequel.

When it's released, we'll see if the sales churns out.

Level design was crazy good on first one.

I enjoyed them more from the perspective of the inventive nature of them versus the actual playability. It's been a while since I last played it (a good 3 years at least)but I recall getting a bit frustrated with certain aspects of the platforming. From a creative endeavour, I can't fault it. Don't get me wrong, I'm keen on a sequel.

I backed this and I'm very happy with what they showed. It looks much more ambitious than I expected. Can't wait to play it.

I loved the first, was very happy to finally to see what the sequel looks like. Interesting they brought Starbreeze on board to help with developing.

Oh man the final part (well mind) of the game was rough, the escort mission especially.

Psychonauts is one of my all time favorites. I hope the game turns out great but at the very least I'm excited to spend more time with that unforgettable cast of characters.
