No one should buy the Xbox version until Toys For Bob fixes the framerate issue that seems to only appear in a couple levels of the second area, but that’s still a couple levels too many.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to send your save file from a PS5/XSX to PS4/X1? Reason I ask is when I ported my PS4 save, about 70% of my trophies popped a second time, but I’m not going to platinum this game twice on two different systems. The only reason I’d do it at all is for the freebie platinum you get from owning both, but FUCK ME the time sink is hazardous to my health.

Pretty solid on all.

"Stuttering unrelated to the frame rate can happen at some points on the Xbox consoles. This issue wasn't encountered on PS5. An example of a level that this stuttering was found in is the level Hit The Road."
I wonder if they'll patch that or are they done with it?

Its a bigger gap than it looks. Based on the video it shows when both the XSX and PS5 drop in the same pattern the PS5 holds a 5-10 fps advantage when both are locked to 60 it would be logical that the PS5 could push more frames. The result is the total frames at the end are skewed in favor of the XSX. This is further cemented by the 1st and 5th percentile gap. Pretty easy win for the PS5 especially when you throw in better shadows, loading and Dual Sense features.

Again, different games will favor different parts of the GPU. Same res on both PS5 and XSX, it's PS5 that comes out on top with a higher frame-rate due to its GPU being faster than XSX in rasterization and whatnot.

Look at RX 6800 vs 6700 XT. The 6800 has 50% more CUs, but the clock speed on 6700 XT is so high that it basically brings its performance on par with the bigger, more expensive 6800 GPU in this particular game. Of course, not every game runs like this but you get the idea.

That is true, although sometimes the higher end Nvidia card in a family range is often lower mhz because of more cores.
That chart isnt very accurate, at least for me. I played Godfall at 1080p/Epic settings at 60fps and gpu usage averaged in the 70-90% rangeon my 980ti. Switching to 1440p usually adds about 30-40% gpu usage, so no way would Godfall of been running at 19-31fps at 1440p on my system.

It seems that PS5 has a 5% lead in minimum framerate at the same resolution. I would guess its advantage over the XSX version in average framerate would be at around the same percentage (maybe a little more) without the 60 FPS cap.

cutscene eh
Even better, as they're like-for-like with the same rendering load like a benchmark.

Yes, the 6800 non-XT's clock speed is lower than 6700 XT but the computational power (TFLOPs) is still higher on the bigger GPU due to more cores. Despite this, the smaller GPU is on par 6800 here. It's the same way PS5's smaller GPU can be on par or perform better than XSX GPU due to higher clock speed like in this game and others.

As for the 980 Ti, maybe they've found a very demanding sequence to benchmark at 1440p?

What are the resolutions.
PS5 and Xbox Series X use a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 3456x1944.
Xbox Series S uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 2560x1440 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 2304x1296.
During gameplay pixel counts at 3840x2160 seem to be common on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Xbox Series S drops below its maximum resolution more often than the other two consoles. The resolution is lower on average during cutscenes than gameplay for all three consoles.

This....

It's been a year since we heard that the Xbox Series X we (b) eat PS5 at the morning. That Sony did not know how to develop consoles ... 1 year that we read everything and anything about the power of TF.
And the more extreme (like Astal) believed that the Series X SSD was faster than that of the PS5.

For what? See a 10Tf consoles beat a 12Tf? Even on somes BC games....
The PS5 is not just a 10Tf console, there is a whole in the architecture behind it. Praise Cerny.

The backlash is delicious ... that's why. The only thing I respect about Microsoft is the way they maintain backward compatible games. (Cross-Save, FPS Boost). Sony need learn to that...

But the extremist fanboys journalist/twitter dumb guys... welp

Not that mind blowing when developers have vocalized that the tools have played a major role, more so than the difference in teraflops. Sony's tools are quite familiar and work with existing code, whereas MS implemented something that makes sense in the long run, but will require a reworking of the code in order to take advantage of specific features in Series X. -Control Dev-
