I’m really ashamed I considered voting for this piece of shit out of an irrational fear of socialism from the Biden admin. Didn’t do it but holy shit this is just sickening. Don’t give me whataboutisms from Antifa: black, brown purple, left or right I cannot understand mob violence especially against a group I was raised to respect: officers of the law. This is just as bad as the Ahmed Arbury and George Floyd videos. Seriously WTF mobs of any stripe are fucking animals.

Sadly the former and confirmed from a right leaning source too.

First MSNBC video I'll post in years. I hate this channel. But this is pretty much just video of what happened, so not a lot they could get wrong here.

Definitely wasn't just people trespassing and being in a space like multiple posters on here have suggested over and over. If you were there just for a punk'd "gotcha" photo, you were a moron. Others were there with intent to kill and they used a lot of idiots that day.

I watched this morning. This and the video in the OP have been making my stomach churn all day. Anyone who thinks this was just a protest out of control should watch. I'm no MSNBC fan either.

Anyone else who chooses to downplay what happened, I’m simply going to direct them here from now on.

I don't think people (or at least posters) here are downplaying it. Many Trump supporters including myself, are sick and disgusted by what transpired. None of them represent us or what we believe.

We are however, are tired of the hypocrisy, hand waving and generalization. Some of those people there feel the same way we do and others were obviously there for mischief, violence and terrorism.

I'm not going to diminish that and I know certainly my fellow conservatives here don't as well. These people are scum and they should be ashamed of waving the Red, White and Blue.

That shot at 6:39 is almost something out of Battle of the Bastards in GOT. Pretty nuts when it pans down the hallway and you see the thousands of people in the distance all pushing.

Was confused at first but now I see they are beating someone badly in the middle of the stairs and had already pulled him down the stairs before this video starts. The other cops are pretty far away.. they just let their fucking bro get pulled down like that?

You can see one dude put the beaten officer's helmet on briefly.

I would hope to never be in that situation. I don't know what I would do. I can empathize with the others and the regret they will most likely have for the rest of their lives.

Yeah, the capital police planning and performance autopsy will be rough I think. I think they were straight up scared.

I know for sure I would have tried to stop the mob. But I've "jumped into the fray" anytime anyone I knew was in danger, to my own peril, multiple times.. so I know pretty well how I'd react. Not that I'm some tough guy, I just know my instincts are always to help.

I feel like that should be a basic personality trait for a cop.

Look also at the 6:39 clip showing what must be that hallway or right near there. Look when it pans towards the crowd and you see how far back it goes. They were probably just terrified to get out there. Not exactly the right call, and will probably be listed as a failure. But that's my guess.

Just half an hour ago some poster called the events "mild trespassing". If that doesn't qualify as "downplaying"...

That said, being a cop must be really though these days. They are now everyone's doormat. BLM hate them anyhow, and "Blue Life Matters" actually means "Blue Life Matters, unless of course they stand in our way". Trump couldn't even be bothered to condole the dead officers family.

This is horrible. At first like a lot of people I thought it was a bit of a joke before the death count started coming out. Not a joke but... Not as serious as it ended up being.

I think a serious look needs to happen here at why these people did this. It needs a much smarter approach than deplatforming them and arrests. Obviously deplatforming these violent criminals is justified but they're gonna use a larger brush here and we know it. I think this will end up being a mistake.

I think bidens presidency needs to take a serious look at this divide. What's causing it, how can they fix it. They're already failing at this though by calling these people " trump supporters". These people are lunatics. They don't have the mental capacity to support anyone.

But unfortunately I see the situation getting worse before it gets better.

I pray it won't.

Everyone was more concerd about the woman shot and knowing the fact that she had a child compared to an officer there doing his job which could have been avoided if this remained peaceful or never happened in the first place. Shame on all of you not pointing the finger at the people responsible for this and trying to find a scapegoat.

Shut the hell up, you cannot be a Trump supporter and be a good person. You just can't, there's video out there of the orange buffoon watching as his simps were marching towards the capitol with pride (accompanied by his sons, wife, staff, etc.) to the tune of "Gloria". He was complicit in all of this, and people like you still support him?

If these people managed to get into the chambers or to find any unprotected staff or politicians... thank god for people like this officer. Legit hero .

Lots of layers to it. the police were obviously scarred, overwhelmed, it was chaotic. Seems like some police or off duty police helped out the rioters. Then on top of that they were massively understaffed (leadership must be held accountable). Then on top of that the president refused to send the NG and was apparently ‘delighted’ by what he saw unfolding.

O come on don't go there, that being very disingenuous. People aren't homogeneous in what they believe. You think the woman who was shot, a woman who proudly fought for her country was there to commit an act of terrorism.

People who were there were driven there by the belief in something they thought was greater than themselves. As I stated people motivations are their own and we aren't discounting those who were there for violence.

Lock them up (those that caused violence and mayhem), that's not a problem with any of us.

At this point it doesn’t matter what political side anyone sits on. This shit has got to stop on both fuckin sides. I’m not even American and it’s sad to see how divided everyone is there. People gotta stop pointing fingers at others and come together. It sucked to watch George Floyd die whether you believe it was partly his fault or not, and it hurts to see this happen to an innocent officer. Poor guy RIP.

Yeah I'm not trying to pass harsh judgment on them as human beings.. but they flat out did not do their jobs. I saw lots of videos of police flat out not doing their jobs.

Was it because they were overwhelmed? Quite possibly.. but I saw a lot of videos of cops not even trying.

There's very little video of cops.. doing anything to fight back, or to protect each other when one does decide to get involved.

There were 4 or so officers standing in front of those doors in an indefensible position. There is literally audio of them being threatened and saying "we've seen lots of people hurt, I'd hate to see you guys get hurt." So they literally walk away from the doors. Then they smash the doors while a gun is trained on them. Then she jumps through the hole towards the guy with the gun.

Disgusting and proves that there is extremists on the right that need to be locked up. The party that's supposed to be pro military and police and this is how you treat them.

I would say riling them up with "Trial by combat" could be argued but the only ones responsible are the ones that stormed the capitol violently and they should be punished accordingly.

So you think she was there to cause violence? You think she was there do harm to someone? I didn't see a gun or pipe bomb or anything that could be used as a weapon (as initally claimed).

Here we see there's a crush as they try to make their way inside. They're forced back out by security and somehow the officer gets dragged out of the police line with the crowd. Some people are not completely crazy, help him up, and they try getting him back to his colleagues line. I don't know where the fire extinguisher strike comes in if someone has the video. I did see a comment that the video (OP) might be cut because of graphic nature so maybe?

Or I might have identified the wrong guy.

It was a capital police or secret service agent with a gun pointing at them. They shattered a door after threatening the police until they just walked away. Then she led the fucking charge through the shattered door. She must have been one of the first to encourage everyone forward.

No one at that point has the luxury of assuming anything about intentions of a violent mob. She deserved exactly what she got. I'm honestly just shocked that more shots weren't fired.

Dude, your government was on the run and she had to be stopped by force to protect your elected politicians from the mob entering there through the hole she had torn open.

It's not like anyone only planned terrorism, it actually happened.

If you don't see this, what kind of 'conservative' are you?
