HAHAHA.

I can never tell if bronies are serious. Like I saw a video where a brony was "reviewing" a mlp colouring and activity book for children and he kept saying it was childish and too simple. It was surreal.

I know they're hoof boots, I was wondering why the style looked girly. It's probably the tiara-like shape.

Eh it's not different from those Pokemon convention.

A bit off-topic, but I was listening to the radio on my commute to classes when a brony called into Elvis Duran, and the caller started having a geekgasm while explaining the ins and outs of being a brony. Surprisingly though, the cast of the morning show was very open and curious about it. The caller was doing a pretty decent job making it seem halfway normal until all of a sudden he went into enormous detail about some toy doll that was causing some huge controversy within the community online. That is when the snickering started. Anyways, turns out that the host cut the microphone to one of the members of the show because he knew he was going to say ugly things about My Little Pony to the caller, and sure enough he started dogging on it when they finally gave him his mike back.

Anyways, I thought that was a pretty standup thing for the host to do, and I was extremely surprised that they largely didn't make fun of it.

They all look the same, fricken care bears.

Lauren Faust loved My Little Pony G1, and made G4 partly as an homage to it. The front-center pony is Firefly, Lauren's all-time favorite pony.

True bronies aren't allowed to hate G1. They're allowed to be uninterested, but they're not allowed to be haters.

And besides, everyone knows it was G2 to G3.5 that were the REAL terrible generations.

Edit: Also, it's entirely reasonable for fans of MLP G1 (mostly women in their 30's) to love bronies.

I'll never understand this whole "brony" thing. It blows my mind. I suppose that's ok.

That being said, I think the 80s ponies look way better.

That doesn't make a brony reviewing a childrens MLP coloring and activity book and saying it is too simple any less pathetic though.

"I climbed into Pikachu's vagina, and it was just like being crammed in a big yellow balloon with a bunch of laughing children and poor ventilation, and I just wanted to climb out ASAP. It had none of the wit and charm of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Overall I would give the experience 2/5 for novelty."

Every few years something comes along that gets popular for no apparent reason. Look at Invader Zim a while back.

At least it's a good way of outing the weird, creepy fucks out there.

Does Walmart even know what a bronie is?

Staff meeting

Dude one.
"Okay lets do a bronie shirt"

Dude two.
"What in the holy hell is a bronie?"

Dude one.
"Its dudes that love cartoons horse's seems like a good selling point"

Dude two.
"Again what in the holy hell is a bronie and what makes it a good selling point...?"

Sam Walton
*rolls in grave*
"What the hell are they doing to my empire now?!"

I saw that and I'm surprised it's getting so much attention. But I guess the whole "Oh them crazy Bronies (who are SO WACKY enough) are mad about trivial shirt designs Geehyuk hyuk hyuk, lets report about it." is too much to resist.

When I first heard about it, it just seemed like a somehwat funny, somewhat eyerolling "mistake" as most Bronies are fans of the new show and that's it. I think the frustration comes from that misconception. The animosity and dislike of previous Generations comes from the fact that despite some G1 stuff being halfway decent, it's still what caused MLP to retain its sort of insipid "girliest of the girly crap that only little girls like" reputation.

Some similar examples I would relate it to the stigma of all Anime being cute cuddle Japanese animation that doesn't extend beyond the likes of Pokemon and Sailor Moon. It seems better now, but over a decade ago when I was in High School, this was a very common process, I KNOW I can't be the only one.

Oh and I do rock a couple MLP shirts from We Love fine and some of those Daily Tee sites. I really haven't run into any kind of degrading prejudice, but I really wouldn't care if I did.

New Zealand is putting hobbits on their money? Haha

I'm going to have to check this out in a couple weeks when I fly down there.

Yeah what is your point? That some hardcore Pokemon fans are just as fucking creepy losers as some hardcore MLP fans? Probably. Doesn't change the fact the example mentioned was creepy.

Do you feel the need to defend that colorbook guy by mention other even more creepy behaviour by fans of another cartoon? Does your example now suddenly make the guy less pathetic?

It's mindblowing that this is news.
But i sort of dig that shirt, and i don't even like ponies or Iron Maiden.
