Boy, 15, plans to SUE his parents after they set up CCTV in his bedroom to stop him masturbating

The teenager said his parents ordered the cameras on Amazon

A TEENAGER plans to sue his parents after they allegedly installed CCTV in his bedroom to stop him from masturbating.

The 15-year-old claims the cameras were set up after his dad caught him performing the act earlier this month.

Turning to Reddit's legal section for advice, he wrote: "I'm 15 and think I should be allowed to touch my own body. This is embarrassing and destroys my privacy, please help.

"My dad barged in without knocking and started screaming at me. He and my mom then sat me down and told me I'm not allowed to touch myself."

The boy, from Alaska, claims cameras have also been installed in the bathroom.

He said his parents are against sexual activities before marriage, claiming they also stopped him from taking part in sex education classes at school.

He described how he found an Amazon package at his home and discovered it contained indoor security cameras.

The teen wrote: "I asked my dad and he said they are putting them [cameras] in my room and bathroom so they can monitor and make sure I'm not masturbating.

They told their son that they would check the cameras every day to make sure he didn't dare masturbate

I'd just make sure I do the most outrageous shit on camera to the point where they couldn't bear to watch me.

I'd have all kinds of crazy sex toys, lubricants etc. They'd be treated to daily footage of me bent over, giant cucumber up my butt while I furiously masturbate into a nice pot of jelly while screaming at the top of my lungs.

The cameras would soon stop rolling I can assure you.

Technically wouldn't the parents be in possession of CP?
That's where the light would shine immediately.
This day an age most CCTV cameras stream to a device/ multiple devices and are not directly linked vie cable to a recording hub.

If this kid takes them to court then I imagine he will be removed from the parents and they will be slapped with a sexual offence.

This kid could nail them to the fucking wall if he wanted.

Fuck. I've read multiple accounts of outside users getting into peoples streaming devices.

This is assuming the kid decides to beat off with the cameras recording. And by the kid's own admission they were simply putting them there as a preventative behaviour control, I can't see courts going after the parents because he decided to knowingly make a jerk video for them.

If the cameras are in his bedroom and the bathroom then there's only one option: jerk off in their bedroom.

Alternatively if the cameras need wifi to work then turn the router off while doing the business.
Wank privacy expert right here.

Is that legal though? Installing cameras to film your nude underage teenage son? I kinda doubt it.

Isn’t that like.. child pornography? 🤨
That is a good legal question. I would say probably not, because whether something is pornographic or not depends on intent. That is why a photographer who is an artist can take pictures of naked little kids. Lots of people take pictures of their little kids in baths or whatever...or cute little baby butt photos.

I believe the term they used was that to be pornography, something had to be crafted in "the prurient interest," or with an intent to arouse.

The parents (and yeah, they are idiots) do not intend to record and distribute, or to use recordings of the kid for sexual gratification. Rather, the threat of the cameras being there is meant to deter sexual behavior.

From a Catholic point of view, I would give my kid the moral teachings of the church regarding sex and masturbation honestly and forthrightly, but I would understand the likelihood that they are not going to live up to them all the time, particularly as a young person. I would give them privacy but the understanding that privacy is not going to be absolute while they are living in my house, that I have the right to come into their room and even to look in drawers, closets, etc. They deserve the courtesy of knocking on the door before coming in. So yeah, the camera thing is just ludicrous.

...and those videos of him urinating or if he actually does do it?

How do you know that though? For all we know, they could be selling those recordings.

From a Catholic point of view, they should have shown him this video:

There are (unwritten) exceptions for parents to have naked media of their children if the content is not intended for sexual gratification. Maybe written as well, based on legal obscenity.

Assuming the parents aren't getting off on watching their son jerk it, or distributing it, it probably would not be considered CP.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

I still feel like videotaping a 15 year old boy against his will while getting naked to take showers or partially undressed to use the restroom isn't the same thing as cute little baby butt photos. I doubt the law would see it that way either.
