Emmerich said he had the story arc already written and it just needed to be fleshed out. I don't think it'll have anything to do with the holiday. I'm more curious about what's going to actually happened. According to Whitmore, the entire alien civilization went from planet to planet, so if they blew up the mother ship, wouldn't that mean the entire civilization is destroyed?
