Weezer sucks

EWBAITE is a good return to form, but, it still kind of bothers me how thematically, Rivers Cuomo is writing about things he wrote about when he was younger.

Songs like Ain't Got Nobody, Go Away and Cleopatra sound like the musings of a love forlorn highschooler, not a dude that is married with kids. The sound has definitely progressed and matured--I just wish the lyrics would too.

Blue, Pinkerton and Green are all good-to-great albums. Beyond that, you get like two or three good songs an album, with the rest being pretty forgettable or downright awful.

Man, you guys remember that State Farm commercial they did a while back? That might have been the best thing they've done in years. It's so embarrassingly listenable:

Real Talk!

It's crazy the state farm song they did is the best song they've done since Pinkerton. LoL

Eh, it's what he does best. Emotional/damaged Rivers is the best Rivers. Anything he's written outside of that, is much more cringe. The guy just isn't interesting at his older age. I can agree that it feels forced, given he is happily married. And it's like him trying to do things he did when he was older. But i think the music/melodies are just as good as before (for the most part), so it makes it easier to accept the lyrical themes.

EDIT: I mean on this album. Their last couple of albums have been awful, musically. Let's just be glad he moved past his "mid-life crisis" and trying to be hip in the clubs w/ all the honies. That was gross.
