Why do people hate Pork and Beans anyway? I thought it was an alright song.
it was pretty bland and boring for me

Weezer is literally shit. I used to have a friend that really loved them named butter_stick
What happened?
I had to look 2deep4me up. Apparently it is a 4chan term. Why does it not surprise me that Weezer fans would frequent 4chan.At least Weezer isn't 2deep4me.
Ouch burn. I really don't give a shit if you diss Tool. In spite of my username I do not worship them, they are just a solid psychadelic prog rock band with a great singer. Pinkerton on the other hand is an album that mainly appealed to 13 year old emos just getting into rock music. It is every bit as dull and simplistic as shit like Creed/Linkin Park.Tool is music for loner 16 year olds who want to feel like their tastes are sophisticated and mature.

I like how this is supposed to be an insult or something.Ænima;40660371 said:Why does it not surprise me that Weezer fans would frequent 4chan.
Tool versus Weezer? Seriously? As if they have anything in common other than being bands that play music.
Apples to oranges...purely a taste thing. I never got into Tool. I loved Weezer in high school. That doesn't mean one is better than the other.
If you knew anything about music theory, you'd realize how idiotic you sound.Ænima;40660371 said:I had to look 2deep4me up. Apparently it is a 4chan term. Why does it not surprise me that Weezer fans would frequent 4chan.

Take a listen to Falling For You and tell me it's as simple as anything you have heard on the radio. In fact, it's more complex from a chordal standpoint than most of Tool. I know that may hurt to believe, but it's true, even without super deep references to Bill Hicks and fisting.
Of course two things that happen to be in the same medium should be thoroughly compared, even though in reality they don't share that many traits.
This is how you realize the age of people on GAF.
Which do they remember better: the 90s or 00s output of Weezer and Foo Fighters?
Okay then. Let's just all agree that A Perfect Circle is Tool for chicks. Right guys? Right?!?
/tosses gasoline on the fire
You don't know what you're talking about. Don't pretend you do.it is simple.
Return Of The Rentals is good. Songs From The Black Hole would have been better though![]()
You have to admit there was a bizarre drop off in quality level of both bands starting in the 2000s. Bizarre. I don't quite comprehend how the same band that gave us Pinkerton went on to release Raditude and Hurley.
And the Foos never came close to matching The Colour and the Shape. That's still one of my favorites.
Once they started getting paid... :/
I've never listened to any of the Foo Fighters stuff. Should I start at their earliest album and work my way back?

And shit yeah, please by all means listen to New Day Rising and/or Zen Arcade. This guy knows what's up.no, listen to husker du
These Tool comparison are asinine but ok I'll play along. Tool is not known for complex guitar riffs. In fact the simplicity and repetitiveness of their riffs helps to induce the trance-like mental state that their music is known to cause. If you knew anything about music theory, you'd realize how idiotic you sound.

That is very cute. Falling For You uses every root note possible, modulates multiple times, and has some extremely complex harmony. Please try not to throw around words like "simple" in regards to a subject, in this case music, that you very clearly don't understand.Ænima;40661959 said:These Tool comparison are asinine but ok I'll play along. With that being said there is nothing complex about Falling For You. It is a very typical pop-rock song. Nothing wrong with pop-rock unless the riffs are boring and the singing sucks, which is the case with Weezer.
Anyways I'm out. Somehow I got sucked into a band argument/comparison that doesn't even make any sense. That is what I get for trolling I guess.
You don't know what you're talking about. Don't pretend you do.
Oh, okay. Please explain to me how a song with twelve chords is simple.i do know what i'm talking about, and i don't agree with you.

You can say it sucks. From an objective standpoint, it uses every root note and has a pretty complex key change in the middle of a guitar lead, which makes you incorrect in deeming it simple.dude, i don't even care if it was recorded from a shaved donkey's anus.
the song sucks, it's simple shit that has been done by a plethora of bands, from a technical perspective.
they are not geniuses. it's not special.
but go ahead and believe that.

In that sense, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. You are arguing something using incorrect terms and baseless claims. Don't throw around terms like "technical perspective" if you know nothing about music theory.

would you two just have sex already
Oh my God, are we done yet? You guys have gone well beyond killing this thread.
I'm not trying to impress. If you've truly studied music theory for ten years, and you still don't see what the problem is in calling this song simple, I don't know what to tell you, other than that you clearly are unaware of what is happening within the context of the song.i've studied music theory for ten years, what's your point?
nothing you have said is complex, and i think exactly what you think about me; a text of nonsense.
please, keep trying to impress.
Or, you could just stop posting and fucking up this thread worse than it already was. There's always that.

are you talking to me
You not liking Weezer isn't the issue. Both of you bandering back and forth about stupid bullshit is the issue. The thread took a hard turn south with the Weezer/Tool thing, you guys are just driving it further down the toilet.so, you just want a bunch of youtube links, song titles and whatnot?
just because it's negative doesn't automatically make it not fitting within the thread.
who the fuck are you anyway?
No, talking to Junior Bear up there.
