What are your insanely fantastic experiences with video games?

Just something like that as in the title. Not simply liking and having a great time but beyond that. I had that with Resident Evil 4 Remake version. I didn't want for it to end, Leon's roundkick, constant fear you are in danger, always out of ammo etc

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Hours flew by without me even noticing. Just having some of the best time of my life, discovering new nooks and crannies of that world.

The sense of progression mechanics in WoW and progress in general in RPGs, i love it.
Also, driving. Arcade, Sim, anything in between. I LOVE driving

Latest one was doing The Crucible challenge in Mio: Memories in Orbit. S-tier metroidvania platforming. Like it was absolutely top of the class and put me in to a flow state. Amazing.

Specifically this section. If you are like me and this game passed you by at launch, do yourself a favor and watch just 1 minute and see what its all about. Touching ANYTHING is literally death and its very fun a tricky to get through.

The flow state is euphoric. Its not often I get that feeling and its always special to me and always what I search for while playing anything. They remind me of good times while young and playing games with my siblings.

Elden Ring: got some days off work, a ton of weed and no-lifed the game in 3 weeks. Amazing experience, game had some jank and wasn't perfect by any means but damn that was some cool adventure full of challenge and surprises.

Path of Exile 2: got some days off work, a ton of weed and no-lifed the game in 2 weeks. Amazing experience, best ARPG I've ever played.

Also stuff like playing Metal Gear Rising or Dragon's Dogma for the first time. Very cool games.

Playing DOOM for the first time in early 1994 on a friend's 486 PC. No other game has impressed me as much since. Maybe Daytona USA arcade. Maybe.

In the last few months just getting more into racing games after getting a dedicated wheel, and then upgrading to a better direct-drive one because I fell down the rabbit-hole.

Playing Gran Turismo 7 again, going from controller to a wheel was night and day difference. I can feel so more much of the track, feel when I'm about to lose traction, counter steer to regain it, feel when RPMs kick high so I can shift gears without needing to look down at the UI, and just turning off the assists one by one.

Just doing the license tests on a wheel was helpful in learning fundamentals that translated to other games like DiRT Rally 2.0, F1 25, Project Cars 2 and even recently Forza Horizon 6. Genuinely makes the whole genre better for me.

Maybe not fantastic but First time playing FF11. I got lost and a guy pulled up to me on a chocobo and gave me directions.
Seems silly now with info and youtube guides everywhere for games but its a memory that sticks with me.
Its impossible now to get that fresh unknown adventure feeling in a MMO.

I know the game got dragged, but the first time that the Megalodon got introduced in Sea of Thieves and required a coordinated effort from multiple crews to fight it was one of the most memorable gaming experiences of my life. we had several ships that the Meg was weaving between and it would smash some ships into others, it was chaos and so much fun.

First time playing GTA Online with my friend was a riot too, We drove out of town to a gravel quarry and stole the giant dump truck, then brought it into the city where we saw a group of guys holding out against the cops in a parking garage, we drove the dump truck over all the cop cars and the guys inside were losing their minds cheering for us.

Since someone already talked about Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom I will mention Elden Ring, exploring Limgrave was one of the best experiences I ever had as a person.

8 player Daytona in the arcade with friends.

Probably a lot of arcade stuff that can never be replicated now and is lost forever.

$1 per play. Awesome sound and it had fake pressure plates on the side to simulate g-forces when you tured.

I forget which arcade it was but I saw the old school twin cockpit Daytona years ago.

I never saw an 8 player linked up Daytona, but have seen 8 players Indy 500 in the moving F1 cars.

My best friend at the time had a nephew who was basically his brother after his parents raised him because his dad abandoned him as a baby and he was sometimes really spoilt and annoying, like not knowing boundaries or repercussions in a learning sense as a kid (not blaming my the friends parents or anything, it's a common thing when a kid had such a hard life that it's even more difficult to tell them no etc).
1 day we were sitting in my friends bedroom watching TV and an advert for Resident Evil 4 on GameCube came on and we were shocked because we didn't know it was even a thing, and he was maybe 10 at the time (the nephew) and he asked me if I liked that game and I said it looked amazing. He then left the room, went into his room and then asked his grandad to go to the shop while he was carrying a bag, so off they went, nothing unusual.

A little while later they came back, the nephew ran up the stairs and handed me a brand new sealed copy of Resident Evil 4. He had traded in a bunch of his own games to get it for me. I nearly cried at the time at such a wonderful kind gift from a young kid, not counting the fact he had such a difficult life. I did end up buying him stuff later as a gift (more to pay him back because I felt awkward too) and even brought my gamecube round to my friends house so he could play it.

Was an amazingly special time and sadly, at aged 18, the nephew died. One of the most heartbreaking things for many reasons, but thanks to him I always associate Resident Evil 4 with him and that act of unexpected kindness and not whether or not the game was good, because that didnt and doesn't matter. What a lovely young dude.

Metal Gear Solid 1: my cousin came to my house and told me he has this game he borrowed from a friend who claimed it's one of the best games ever. I was curious, and mind you I only recently owned a PS1, I still had 16bit expectations. My mind was BLOWN.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd: this experience I still remember like yesterday. I am a huge fan of MH, played since the OG MH on PS2, but back then not all Monster Hunters got released in the west.

I had played MHFU like MAD, and Tri as well (but wasn't a fan of Wii) and was having a MH drought. Then one day out of the blue my friend says there is a new Japan only MH that got a fan translation and we can play on the PSP (through PS3), my mind was blown because I had never heard of this MH (it was Japan only) and suddenly I have a full blown new MH to dive into. One of my fondest memories.

My local arcade started with a 4 player setup and it was taking so much coin they upgraded it to 8 players.
