Inspired by the El Dorado thread from earlier, I thought this would make for a fun thread....or a disturbing one (which can also be fun).
Thread title says it all, what was the thing you saw that caused you to "awaken" during your childhood? Was it from a cartoon, a comic book, a videogame, a suggestive puppet?
There's no shame in here, just confessions. Everybody had to start somewhere, so share your origin story.
Even though I tagged this thread as "Potentially NSFW", I feel there should be a few guidelines we should follow:
1. When posting examples, try to stick to official art/photos. No fan-art, no cosplayers, and NO nudity.
2. No shaming: Again, everyone had to start somewhere. If there's a legion of people who can confess their crushes toward Smurfette or Gadget (the latter reaching cult status in some circles), then I think we can all be tolerant of most of the examples listed here. Just...try not to be too descriptive with your experiences.
Starting things off, I can easily trace things back to one character: April O' Neil.
At a time when most female cartoon characters consisted of the animal variety (not my thing, but again, not judging) and/or exhibited the ever annoying "mother hen" stereotype, April was a sassy redhead in a form-fitting jumpsuit that strived to prove her independance by risking life and limb in order to get that next big "hot story".
She was also one of the most in-peril characters of all time....which led to quite a few "interesting" sequences:
After Jessica Rabbit, April's melons made quite the impression on 80's me. The showrunners seemed purposely aware of her endowments, as nearly every shot with her was drawn at a very specific angle:
Many of her appearances in the TMNT videogames also amped up the flirtation factor, incentivizing players to do the best during boss fights, as the winning Turtle would be the one to get a kiss (with the other Turtles looking on with jealousy).
That's my confession, so let's read yours.
