What does Destiny 3 have to do, to get you interested?

Not make me buy the game in overpriced chunks time and time again. Honestly though, I think I'm kinda done with these kind of games, and there is very little they can do to get me interested again. I ground my life away with Destiny 1, and it was soul devastating every single time they released a new expansion only to make all my hard work and countless hours of grind obsolete, and then demanding equal or even more eternal grind to make any of my now worthless exotic gear relevant again (or get the new gear). I won't lie: I had a blast while I played and maxed out three character for each class during the House of Wolves expansion, but then after Taken King came out, and even though it was the best expansion yet, I just couldn't make myself do it all over again (also, I didn't have any friends at the time that played the game, so doing LFG every single time I wanted to do a Raid was a tremendous pain in the butt). Even if they fixed all this somehow, I wouldn't get Destiny 3 if they continued this ridiculous overpriced expansion release model. I won't even consider touching Destiny 2 until they release a Complete Edition, like they did for Destiny 1, and until it is heavily discounted. It was pretty devastating to see some friends get ALL of Destiny 1, including an expansion I didn't and probably will never have, for 30 bucks.

I do wonder who is funding D3, I don't think Bungie can fund a game as big as Destiny alone, and also who is publishing it. Activision and MS are out of the picture and with the bad fame of being slow to produce content I doubt EA will be interested.
I am wondering this too... can Bungie really afford to go it alone for Destiny 3?

Destiny fans cheered the announcement of them leaving Activision as a huge win but something didn't feel right to me. Instead of Bungie gaining independence from the big bad evil Activision I think the real reason is that Activision let them go because they didn't feel it was worth it any more and wouldn't make sense financially to keep putting money into Destiny.

Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. But something stinks about Activision/Bungie parting ways.

This time make the base game longer than a Demo.

But now that I think of it, they have already done that twice ? that's dirty AF and I only paid like 10$ for it from HB. I won't even bother checking out destiny 3 at all, pass.

Yeah this is a good point. Activision wouldn’t just terminate their agreement and let Bungie keep the IP out of the goodness of their hearts. There is certainly some cold hard financial reality underlying that decision.

Put a way bigger focus on the campaign and bring the only remotely interesting character back from the dead.

Oh and maybe wrap up some of the subplots they've just left hanging.

I don't know... "do it good"?

My expectations are all out of whack after 2 launched with precisely zero of the learnings they made from developing the latter-day content for 1.
Now they've apparently fixed it but I can't really be fucked to take the chance on that pattern repeating all over again.

Stop forcing me to socialise with people. I couldn't give a shit about teaming up for raids. Not one, runny, shit.

Unless they find a way to make the solo experience as rewarding I won't be buying it.

I hated Destiny, but enjoyed Destiny 2. Personally I would rather they simply reboot the universe. Properly introduce all the races, the lore, and have a strong progression system that doesn't use dated loot systems that makes Diablo 1 look like a superior title.

Please stop to accept a 1 ,2, 3 for a "live service game" , "online game" , like the division , destiny , you create a char or a few , have a lot of items that you earn it , and after a few years , new money grab and create a new "game" with a "2" on the cover.

long live to path of exile , please see this video Designing Path of Exile to be played forever

My issue with destiny is that the characters while memorable... are not interesting or just flat out annoying. Zavala is meh(annoying cause he is so boring). Ikora is bland, Failsale tries too hard to be funny while always failing, Cayde 6(while dead) also suffered from trying too hard to be funny, and many more characters are just not that cool or interesting. While there isn't much, Osiris is kinda cool. So far the girl from Warmind seemed kinda interesting.

I got the game for free. Eventually upgraded cause of the Christmas Sale. I got more than my moneys worth and then some. I still play the game. I think I have finished all of the main content except for warmind. I Just don't want to grind to get to the next main light level.... which the light level is just the artificial extension to increase the grind... like warcraft. I do wish there was more significance to light level other than being a method of locking people out of content.

Destiny 3, I think it can hook me in as long as the diehards get in there and confirm that the game is good. It is not something I would be buying on release but I would certainly be interested in the game since I do like what Destiny 2 currently is.

What if Bungie is a 1 trick pony? Why do we keep investing into the same trick, over and over? What was the definition of insanity?

I mean, I look back at the much more linear games in Halo fondly, I usually don’t pick up loot, so Halo influence would be great.

Not have ridiculous DLC policy.
I liked destiny 2, and wanted to play more of it, but come on, you have to buy the expansion + the season pass of said expansion? What the hell? It's basically paying for a season pass of a season pass, it's too much, I'm out.

Not exist.

Honestly they should’ve never released a Destiny 2. They should’ve continued Destiny 1 and made the Red War an expansion with all of what vanilla D2 offered.

With this model, everyone who grinded the ever living hell out of D1 wouldn’t have to start from scratch and say goodbye to all the hours put into the game.

They ported over the D1 Collection to current gen consoles, so they could do the same technically for D2 and just continue to sell expansions as opposed to new installments.

I don’t know if I’m ready to grind to level 50/700 light again, lose all my loot, and start fresh again all for a new short campaign and subclass.

This is going to sound superficial, but really pretty graphics on PC. Not just the artistical strength I expect from Bungie but actual real, graphical prowess.

I enjoyed and defended Vanilla Destiny 1 but it was clear Bungie is just not going to take it where it needs to go. The truth is, I really don't think they're a great developer, and never were. They rose to the top on Xbox when they were the only game in town and once CoD4 landed, they fell way off the mountaintop. There is a lot about Destiny that's impressive, but is it really beyond what any middle tier studio could accomplish with that much time, unfathomable financing, and a mothership publisher like Activision diverting coalitions of it's own studios to help an already colossal studio salvage its own titles?

NOTHING recycled. All new content, save for maybe the main three overall classes. Nothing from previous sub-classes though, and no recycled weapons, gear, abilities, etc. At least one all new class would be good as well. And 60 fps on console, or no deal.
