Booted up The Last of Us since I don´t really want to start a new game before Resident Evil 2 arrives. When this first dropped I was like "best game ever made!" but my feelings to it has somewhat cooled down. It´s a great game, the immersion is unrivaled and the presentation, story and characters are all top notch. Traversing the broken world that ND has created is still exciting 6 years after its release. But the gameplay leaves a lot to desire. The only highlight is the sneaking/combat sequences and exploring. But too often ND steals the controller away or they direct the flow with forced walking. The AI is also pretty bad with Ellie and Tess running around like confused chickens. Overall though,TLoU is still an incredible achievement in video gaming. Too bad I´m not hyped one bit for the sequel but maybe that will change as its release comes closer.

I was playing Assassins Creed Odyssey and I've just hit the 17 or so hour mark...and then realized I'm getting a bit bored of all this and that I still have another 60-70 hours of this. I may stop playing it.

Also, I just fired up No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again and am digging it. A bit repetitive, but the overall aesthetic is enough to keep me coming back.

Went back to BF1 and I am having a good time. I made it through the Celeste story and finished two B-Sides already. I need to find the other tapes and finish Darksiders III too but I am waiting for a good AMD Vega 56/64 price so I can play it better in 1440p.

I finished the main quest of Shantae: Half Genie Hero and started Risky Boots' quest. It's a fun, happy game and is short enough to not outstay its welcome. Plus, Rotty Tops is awesome.

Started Tetris Effect during the week and was blown away by it to be honest. It actually makes me wish I had PSVR.

Also in the rotation are Spiderman, Rocket League, BLOPS4 and Ultra Street Fighter 4. There aren't enough hours in the day 😭

I am about two hours into Folklore on PS3. Im enjoying it. There aren't a lot of markers pointing you where to go, but it's not impossible to figure out (that's a good thing). The combat is fun. I like the artstyle to everything. It reminds me of Kameo in a lot of ways. Maybe that's because I had played Kameo when it just came out. I definitely find it more interesting than Kameo.

It's strange but some parts remind me of Guild Wars.

About to finish Yakuza Kiwami. Just need to finish unlocking Dragon abilities and the final substory. I don't think I'm to bother with 100%ing it since I get the feeling Legend mode and the climax battles are going to be a massive pain in the ass.

I just finished Unreal P.T. It was alright, not that scary and the final puzzle seemed too random for me to enjoy.

I really liked the red corridor full of crazy eyes though.

Travelling and playing New Super Mario Bros U. It’s the perfect travel game. It’s a rare Switch game in that it feels equally great in both handheld and docked modes.

It started a bit slow, but come World 3 there starts to be decent challenge.

I had it on Wii U. First I thought now that I didn’t play it through back in the day as everything feels fresh and new. But then I suddenly remembered how to reach some hard to find coins.

It’s a lovely game, it could be brand new for all I know.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition on the One. I've put it on Insane difficulty just for good measure & because once-upon-a-time I never actually defeated Raam on the highest difficulty in the original game (I made it that far 10 years ago & didn't defeat the final boss). I have one week to do this until Resident Evil 2 lands next weekend.

Just finished up playing REmake on all difficulties and challenge modes ahead of RE2 later this month.

Damn good game. Might go through 0 next.
For some reason, the first RE remake always kicked my ass. I'm useless at it. Excellent game though, I agree.

Gotten a bit further in Far Cry 5, almost got 2 regions liberated. While I'm enjoying it the amount of times you get kidnapped is waaayyyyy too much and annoying.

I've yet to do Faith's region but Jacob's region is the absolute worst about this. F that shooting gallery and getting kidnapped 4 times. At least John's region had different missions.

I'm also playing Gears of War 4 and I'm finding it an absolute chore. It's just boring, but I feel compelled to finish it. And the PC version isn't great. It's crashed on me twice and occasionally the audio track is out of sync with the graphics in cut scenes.

Between the extra areas and crimson heads discouraging you from clearing rooms, I'd say it's probably harder than the originals. Though like any other RE, it becomes fairly trivial once you know the critical path for each character.

Plus, the pacing is really clever. First couple of goes round it feels like you're constantly scrabbling to survive, but after that you realise the game is drowning you in resources and dropping red herrings designed to make you afraid of spending them. Fear is all in the mind :messenger_mr_smith_who_are_you_going_to_call:

Landed in Pittsburgh in The Last of Us. I have forgotten how good this game is. Naughty Dog shows some real artistry in the world building with some amazing attention to detail in the environments. I´m totally invested in the story and characters, which makes the journey all the more believable, and frightening. The houses, apartments, towns, forests, everything has a decayed feel over it, but also the sense that a long time ago, people and animals lived here, and thrived in a prosperous society.

I also like how much weight there is in the combat. Sometimes it really feels as your life depends on it when you are fighting some scavenger asshole trying to kill you. Joel swings with his fists, misses, gets sidelined and then finds an opportunity to bash the enemies head in. When you smack a baseball bat right in the face and it breaks the controller shakes violently in your hands and the different animations add to the realism as well. It´s gut wrenching and the violence is nauseating sometimes, but I guess that´s just how it is when everything has gone to shit and everybody is desperate. I have become much more sensitive to this level of violence but I can´t deny that it fuels the story and puts an emotional weight to it. It´s survival of the fittest in a grim and bleak world.

The Guy Game. Such a hilarious and interesting game to play, given how controversial it was for its time. Guarantee that if it came out today, we'd never hear the end about this "misogynistic sexist game".

As far as I know it isn't. Though if you want to buy the game, online shopping might be your best option, since most game stores don't carry it anymore (it was for the PS2 and original Xbox, and also the game was banned since an underage girl showed her boobs. So finding it in an actual retail store would be tough) .

Currently plowing through Ace Combat 7. Rented the game and have a week to finish it.

And also playing these: Epilogue part 1 of RDR2, Spider-Man after the Raft escape from the e3 demo. Bought Senran Kagura Estival Versus and Digimon Story Cybersleuth in a psn sale. Only played Digimon for about 10 minutes out of the two so far.

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.

Playing Watchdogs 2. It really ran out of steam near the end, the missions got longer and harder, but they don't give you checkpoints in most of them. I don't know how many missions I've redone half a dozen times because the main character has no health. I don't know if I'm going to ditch it or play it through to the end.

Oh yeah! Damn that Dracula fight though. Now whether to play the 2nd or go straight to #3
You could always play the harder second quest.

2 is worth playing just because of the interesting idea and atmosphere. It's execution isn't quite all there but I have a soft spot for it nonetheless.

CVIII is the best game in the series so I won't blame you for jumping to it.

Having a bit of a retro trip at the moment. Just finished Cruise For A Corpse (old Delphine game, which came between Operation Stealth and Another World) - the game starts out brilliantly, very clever, but later on you can see they rushed it and it devolves into pixel-hunting and weird adventure-logic instead of the steady investigation/crime-solving and the whodunnit is somewhat ridiculous.

Also been playing The Nomad Soul but, having got out of the main city into the weird Egypt-type-place it just feels like it's got a bit flabby, as much as the setting intrigues me. FInding my way around the city is a problem because the layout is poorly-signposted and tbh it just feels like a chore.

Currently playing KOTOR 1 which I'm enjoying immensely. Tried a few times before but bounced off it, but it's really been pretty awesome and very star wars so far apart from the lazy sewer mission which I think I'm coming toward the end of (just picked up Mission and the wookie).

Yakuza 0. I have still Kiwami 1, 2 and yakuza 6 to play in the series. Told myself I would just mainline the story as I have no time to be doing side stuff with so many games still to get through.

I lost 3-4 hours yesterday building up the Sunshine Cabaret Club to take out the 5 rivals.

Every.. single.. time!! Such a great franchise.

Currently on Chapter 8 of Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.

Been having a great time with the game so far. Only real complaint I have is the long wait times during any transitions (exterior, interior, entering vehicle, etc.) and the horribly slow process of saving the game.

This is my first experience with a Yakuza like game.
