I'm back on that Diablo 3. Started up a season 19 monk last night and I'm enjoying it thus far. Got to level 40-something and I have most of the Ch. 1 seasonal goals finished. I've been really lucky to get some high health-per-hit items so even though my dmg output isn't high enough to handle Master or Torment yet, my survivability is already solid.

I'm currently playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Anomaly, which is a stand-alone "mod" (wouldn't even call it a mod, more like a sequel) for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. It's an incredible piece of work featuring hundreds of hours of content, carefully balanced to enjoy. Actively developed (currently still in BETA) and quite polished as of now. It uses a heavily modified 64bit version of the X-Ray Engine (which powered the original trilogy). It's also brutally hard for a beginner, definitely not recommended unless you dabbled with the previous S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. A little bored by it, but it should be over soon. I wish it were a Wii U game to be honest.
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition. Just an occasional campaign scenario. Quite addicting.

The Outer Worlds.

I liked it overall. Have some issues with it but it being a compotent single player story with production value and decent storytelling was refreshing.

Proving to other devs it can be done.

My issues were:
1. The later missions lose all pacing and meaning. It's like a full sprint to the end and the level design suffers. It's like the game just wants to get this over with the final 3 to 4 story missions.
2. One of the NPC companions is clearly phoned in, Felix. He is a waste of space on the ship. Even the SAM unit has more story and personality. They literally hand you to him after a single interaction as you are leaving a world.
3. Bullet sponge is real in this game.
4. Melee is not a viable build for the hardest difficulties. Block is cute, but more than half the enemies are ranged. A riot sheild would have been appreciated for melee builds.

Ive started dragon quest xi on the switch. Not sure I can tackle a rpg that long nowadays but I'll try it. The graphics, music and fights are great so far.

I am slowly working my way through the new Modern Warfare on PS4 (Pro). I guess that's it. There are some Switch games I picked up on sale but haven't had the chance to get to them yet.

Whats with the cringy voicework in both of those games. Maybe I'm just apoiled from wrpgs like witcher and bioware games

Got Diablo 3 for PS4 for like 15 Bucks and now, the Lady and I are couch-co-oping that fun little time-eater. After the first big session she asked if we can up the difficulty. :D

Problem is, we made seasonal characters and they are difficulty bound til the end of the season :/

Though, it's nice gaming, because she never played 3 and I never played the Necromancer class (15 € for a measly class still is a ripoff). And I still believe, that the controller-mechanics should be ported to PC-Diablo. They are almost perfect.

To the bolded: no, each time you set up the game from the main menu you can go to 'Game Settings' and adjust the difficulty.

Will look into it, but I remember, it explicitly stating, that this is not possible with season-characters.
Unless there's a difference between versions, I was playing a season 19 monk over the weekend (Switch) and I definitely changed difficulty multiple times, both in Campaign and in Adventure mode. However, I know you cannot crank the difficult up from the menu while in the midst of a seasonal session. You need to exit back to the main menu, set the difficulty up a notch, and then start the game back up.

Actively playing: Hyrule Warriors DE (still haven't completed all the adventure maps), Borderlands TPS with friends, recently got back to playing Bazblue (I'll finish CS story first, then start CF for realsies)

Haven't touched them in a while and definitely need to get back to them: Tales of Vesperia, Xenoblade 2, Astral Chain, Wolfenstein The New Order

On my "soon to be played" list: the Witcher trilogy, both XBlaze (they were on sale on Steam recently), Xenoblade HD as soon as it releases

I've been playing the crap out of FFXIV these past few days, what a wonderful game, really takes me back to classic FF with the job system, music and such. The most amazing thing of course is that I have 5 friends, who just started playing the game too. It's so cool to compare progress and do quests together, feels like the good old PSO/D3/Destiny 1 days.

Ni Oh from ps plus. I'm in Saiko boss and i'm getting tired, the majority of bosses aren't fun to fight . The game is good and deep though, but difficulty comes from all enemies killing you in 2 hits rather than enemy variety and fancy attacks. Level detail and design is just.. right.

Perhaps try save scumming this encounter. It would be a pity to abandon this gem only because of difficulty!
Thank you, but I managed to finish it recently. After I posted this after a few days I managed to escape from the deathclaws (unfortunately I had to abandon my companion and he died). I kind of skipped the quest afterwards because these might be some of the toughest versions of deathclaws I have seen (I played 3, 4, and NV). After that I managed to enter the secret mutant military base and after a long time and a lot of save states I killed all of the mutants guarding the path to the vat control room and blew it up (also I stole some clothes from the cathedral cultists). Then I went to find the master at the cathedral after talking to Vree at the brotherhood base and got some important info (I also wanted to get some power armor for destroying the mutant vats, but you don't get anything for it :( ). Talked to Morpheus and convinced him to take me to Master and I convinced him that unity is impossible with the information I received from Vree.

I kind of skipped a lot of quests, though I got a mostly good ending and towns like necropolis and shady sands being safe and doing well, hub got destroyed, the raiders died out, followers of apocalypse are dead (I don't think I interacted with them), and the brotherhood are helping the wastelanders. I could have done more but the combat is difficult for me (I can kill hard enemies, but it takes a long time and repeated save states).

Finished Phantom Hourglass and am probably going to play my black friday games (Like Captain Toad).

Deep into spider man on Pro now. I don’t rate the game as highly as Batman personally. The darker mood and gameplay of Batman is superior for my taste

Trying out Tochlight II on the Switch. I finished a run on PC when it launched. I think I prefer the more focused structure of the original Torchlight and I'm not in love with any of the classes. There are also some weird annoyances like loot dropping in areas that can't be looted and about half of the legendary drops have been class specific and not for my chosen class. They really should have taken notes on the controller interface from Diablo (d-pad for quickly marking junk and the far superior inventory menu). I'm not sure I'll stick with it at this point.

Finally got my PS4. Took three and half days to download all the games I owned already plus GoW and the Horizon Zero Dawn.
Started playing the Handsome Collection. Big huge banner on top of the game telling me to buy Borderlands 3. REAL FUCKING CLASSY. MAKES ME WANT TO GO OUT AND BUY BORDERLANDS 3 IMMEDIATELY.

Finally getting to some of my backlog....

Playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider. While I enjoy these rebooted adventures, and I do like this game, it is the weakest of the 3 reboots.

Theres more exploring which is cool....but there is also considerably less combat than Rise or my expectations. Its def not a murder sim like Uncharted (lol).

I'll def finish it. I think it is a fun game and i like the story and setting. Hoping that next gen bring another fresh take.

Man, what a ripper of a game this is. It never seems to go that cheap on steam so I bit the bullet and picked it up while it was still on sale today. One hell of a throwback that plays smoother than a chainsaw cutting through intestines. The cult setting and dark atmosphere is so good, the level design is top notch, the dual wielding is sick and it's just a bloody adrenaline rush of fun. I've only played an hour and it's easily one of the best games I've played this year.
