So after buying my Wii U last week I was at Gamestop and saw Xenoblade Chronicles X for $12.49.
HOLLLLEEEEEYYYY SHIIIIIIT THIS GAME IS FUCKING GOOOOOOOD. You can really tell that this game was ambitious as fuck. Also after putting in over 80 hours in Chronicles 2, I'm surprised the performance holds up so well in X. I did install the 10gb files for quicker loading and better performance.
And good god the OST is fucking phenomenal. I mean it's that freaking awesome.

I loved Blood and Wine more than the base game, the hag section is one of the most clever interactive cutscenes in a video game ever.
Also it's one of the few modern examples where choices actually matter and leads you through two drastically different end paths.

I've been playing MGSV for going on 500 hours now. Currently focused on FOBs, although I go and work on missions every now and then. It's a pretty horrible grind to do anything (FOB expansions are incredibly expensive) but I've managed to avoid buying anything other than insurance when I got raided back-to-back-to-back for like two weeks by the same guy. But I like FOB infiltrations, so it's cool.
I've got about 50 hours in FF12 on Switch now, but that has been played at 4x speed so I guess that is technically 200 hours lol. Fantastic game - between gambits and the speed toggle it is going to be damn hard to go back to any other turn-based RPG outside of ones where battles are generally done in 1-2 turns like SMT.

I have this new 'gaming' resolution where I'm going to finish every damn game I start (this is the 5th game in a row).. thus I'm 110 hours into Dragon Quest 7 (3ds) and it's really dragging! I knew it would. If I can beat this game I should be able to slog through all other JRPGs I own. I still wouldn't dare try Dragon Age Inquisition again though, holy crap that game is boring as hell.
If you're familiar with the game, which you probably aren't, I just lost Maribel and got through the flying-people (Cirrus?) island. I do like the game alot and am a bit addicted to unlocking all the classes, it's just too strung out with the repeated island-unlocking loop.
I can't wait to be playing dragon quest 11s instead.

Smash bros ultimate. There is also a capcom sale going on and I'm pleasantly surprised to learn that Okami is on the Switch, so I might get that before the sale ends in a few days.
I also have a backlog of games I haven't really played in a while or haven't started at all. I got Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U, Fallout 4, and GTA 5 about a month or two ago and I probably should give them a shot soon.

Anyways just finished chapter 5 of Control. After that going to continue my crushing run through of Uncharted 2.
Also tried the Gwent stand alone game. Its pretty good, don't think the tutorials are very good though that explain all the systems/currencies. If I hadn't played a version of Gwent in the Witcher I'd be very lost.

Finished Super Mario Galaxy this morning before going to work with 76 stars. The final level + the boss fight against Bowser were epic.
Amazing game overall. The only things I didn't like bbout it were the swimming controls, some wonky camera here and there and Spring Mario. Otherwise its pretty much perfect.
As a sidenote... It took me fucking 10 years to complete this game. So sad… When I booted up my Wii I found an old save game with bloody 3 stars from 2009. God damn… I wasted way too much time losing nerves in stupid multiplayer games… Missed out all those classics. Took me only 3 days now to finish this diamond of a game. Better late then never I guess, but still...
Now to find Mario Galaxy 2 somewhere.

And with this song, we start our journey on Cloudbank, the Transistor's city.

The OST for this game is perfect, the timing, the melody, the rithm, the deep sound onto the track, which shows what need to be shown, and hide te rest till the right time. Darren Korb is an excellent composer, and i put my hand onto the fire for what he make.
As you progress, you collect more and more techniques, called functions, each one the essence of a fallen resident of Cloudbank. There are 16 functions in all, including straightforward attacks, movement abilities, a function that spawns a doglike helper, a function that temporarily turns enemies into allies, and others. Each one can be slotted as an active ability, or to upgrade another function, or to give you a passive benefit. There are a remarkable variety of ways in which these techniques can be combined, and hitting on particularly effective combinations and putting them to use in battle is immensely satisfying.
Transistor's combat makes you feel powerful by giving you an edge on the process, but it also encourages you to think carefully about what you're doing, because the process is no pushover. It has tricks of its own, sometimes obscuring your vision, sometimes pulling you out of your turning phase without warning. It's a clever foe, which makes matching wits with it all the more enjoyable. Better man than me. Gave up around 50%. I did get Bloodstained tho.
Hoping to wrap up the Control plat in the next day or two and then move on to Torchlight 2. Also WoW Classic.

Thanks man. I gave up a few times tho. The hardest to get (imo) were the online Trophies. The grind to level 50 was incredibly boring and frustrating. Going for the 70 gold medals was manageable if you didn't use the replay feature and used a guide to tell you which ones were the easiest. But damn, never ever again.

Oh, man, how I wish I could play that game for the first time again.
When you finally reach New LA and this theme here starts playing (specially the part around 1:50)... I hadn't had felt goosebumps like this since, well, the Sending scene of FFX.

That reminds me of how much I would love a remastered version of this game on Switch. Update it with some better pacing, change New LA to any city that isn't a shithole like LA, also give us back boob sliders.

I’ve been playing cuphead on switch.
Normally I’d not bother with the challenge, but my kid has been watching a YouTube channel with a mum and dad playing it and apparently “they completed it” and I’m like those guys are total noobs what are you talking about if they can do it then I sure as hell can.
Turns out they were on pc with mods or something but I’m one level short of getting into the casino now and will keep going to the end.
Really is a great game, epitome of challenging but fair.

Don't know how many people are into clicker games on GAF, but I just finished off 2 this weekend that were only a few of bucks; Spaceplan (2.99 but was on sale for a dolla and change when i got it) and Human-Powered Spacecraft (.99). I use OP Auto-Clicker for most any clicker game. Both were short and sweet and Spaceplan has a great soundtrack.

At the moment I am going through 3 games, (or should I say playing 1 game with a storyline and 2 games playing matches). I am on Black Ops 4 with a buddy of mine continuously doing easter eggs and such. I won't recommend it just because you need to know the other zombies games before jumping on to this one. If you are going solely for the multiplayer matches or just wanna kill zombies with fucks to give to the storyline then this is the best BO game for that seeing as how the others are filled with hackers that make the game essentially unplayable. If you want story you are better off in BO1 since in my opinion it had the second greatest FPS story I have personally gone through.
The second game I am playing is Tekken 7 which has to be one of the greatest fighting games around rn. I have always loved the 3D aspect and complexity of Tekken but never really given a crap for the story since it is incomprehensible in the first place. If you are new to fighting games in general then Tekken is not the game for you. It is simply too complex in its own sense and button mashing doesnt tend to work out too well. Otherwise if you have been on the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter train for too long and looking for a new challenge then you should honestly buy the game rn and see for yourself what I am talking about.
The last game I am playing is Persona 5. This goddamn game has me rethinking my top games lists. This game is very quickly becoming my favorite game so far with all its beautiful art styles and amazing plot and gameplay. I am running through the game blind rn and only actually have passed the second palace but I am getting that amazing Skyrim feeling where I might not be able to find everything I can possibly do in the game. Everything is so intricately placed and thought out and I am afraid of missing certain cues and I am loving it. For a first timer to RPG's I would not reccomend it solely for the fact that you will get overwhelmed very easily as there is simply too much to balance. I won't stop you if you wanna try anyways though because honestly I think everyone needs to try this game at least once. (I am hoping you try it once then get stuck playing it over and over again just like I am about to)
Please keep in mind that these are solely my opinions so please dont crucify me for my tastes.
BONUS: Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne are a must to play in any great game selection. I wont go into details cause im already typing too much but just give them a try and then go on with Dark Souls 2, 3 and hopefully if From Software releases a BloodBorne 2. Gonna preorder that shit as soon as its announced lol

Nothing at the moment, I'm basically just taking a break, the last game I played seriously was kinda World of Warcraft: Legion in like 2016 I guess.
I tried to get into a bunch of stuff for the PS4 like Gravity Rush 2 and Valkyria Revolution but honestly the PS4 was just high quality stuff with nothing really new or boundary pushing so I kinda just gave

There's alot of things I'm currently playing, but I'll narrow it down to the most recent game I've played: Control, digital PS4 edition. The exploration, powers, story, and main character, I really like so far. Not too hot on the gunplay so far, but everything else I mentioned is pretty nice. This is one of the few tps in which I've been able to jump in, and it's pretty cool and funny at the same time. When you jump while moving, it even looks like she's jumping like Super Mario. Made me laugh.

- defeated a boss whilst low on ammo
- finally found a save ribbon
- started making my way to a save room to save
- was killed (one shotted) by an enemy jumping through a window and slashing my throat
- lost about 2-2.5 hours of gameplay

Currently using the scarce time i have between trying to finish Fire Emblem 3houses and Astral Chain. Plus playing a little of C&C Tiberian Sun for nostalgia sake.
Games like older Resident Evils are one of the rare exceptions i play on easier difficulties because of things like this. Its is really frustating to lose so much progress.

Fallout New Vegas for first time. I'm like 20 hours in and it's amazing.
I never got around to playing this last gen as I had like 100+ hours in FO3 and Skyrim and wanted to play other stuff. I didn't like dumbed down FO4 at all and fuck FO76, but this takes me back with great dialogue options and well written side quests.
