Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart

The opening hour was nothing short of spectacular. The incredible set pieces, drifting through several different dimensions in the span of a few seconds. Total mayhem with loads of stuff happening in the background. And the graphical fidelity is off the chart. Like playing a live cgi movie. With VRR enabled I'm hovering around 80-85 fps, which is crazy given all the stuff that is happening on screen. Very impressed so far. Insomniac really shows what the PS5 is capable of.

Just finished Resident Evil Revelations 2 and for most part I didn't like it, Revelations 1 was way better especially with the unique ship setting. A lot of the environments in Revelations 2 are very bland and exploring them is just not fun. I'm not against episodic games, but visiting the same locations as Claire AND as Barry screams budget limitations to me, same goes with trying to make the game longer by inserting a lot of traps and other areas where you need to take it slow (like to stealth kill stronger monsters). This is clearly a way to hide there's not that much UNIQUE content.
The boss fights in the game were mostly good although some mini-bosses shouldn't return that often. I enjoyed the final boss and the ending cutscenes, but that's just not enough to call the game good.

I played GT7 for a handful of hours and got bored. I used to really love racing games. I sunk countless hours into many in my past years. I think I grew out of the genre as my tolerance for repetition has greatly declined. I have a very low attention span for the genre these days. Very well made game though.

Tried to play Fobia St Dinfina Hotel, but it's triggering my motion sickness hardcore. I don't think I'll be able to get through this game without getting violently ill. Maybe in several months once this awful episode of dizziness I've been dealing with hopefully is gone.

Debating starting Crisis Core next - I played about an hour of it and I like it, but don't think I'm in the mood for it now. I don't like to force games when I'm not in the mood.

I don't remember buying this. I'm not sure I've ever even heard of it.
But it was on my shelf.
So that's what I'm playing.

Still playing Tactics Ogre. I could beat the game right now but for some reason I chose to attempt the Palace of the Dead, a 100 floor optional dungeon. Each battle takes me roughly 15 minutes, meaning beating this will take something like 20 hours. I'm on floor 26. Fire Emblem comes out in 8 days.

Pray for me.

Breath of the Wild. I made it through my first divine beast encounter. Debating whether to focus on the story or to try and increase inventory space and stats. Thinking I'll do the latter. I just like climbing around and using the paraglider lol.

I’m playing it too. Dungeons take some time. I’ve been gradually making my way through it. Currently on Chapter IV. The level caps in this version are weird.

Playing this, Hitman 3, and waiting for Fire Emblem as well.

I liked R2’s level design a lot more. It had that dark prison feel to it. R1 had a cool casino and the boat. The whole “mayday mayday..” part drove me nuts.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Finished High on Life last night.

Pretty fun game. I loved the shooting and exploration, the game looks nice and the music is cool too.
I just had two issues with the game tho: I couldn't stand all the banter between the sister and Gene, which is unskippable. I also feel the game's a bit short and the ending felt quite rushed.

Still a very fun game to play through. I'd give it an 8 but I know some people might get turned off by the humor, which I loved, but it's such an important part in this game that it can be a deal breaker if don't enjoy it.
Really hope the game succeeds and we se more stuff like this. It might not be for everyone but it sure is unique.

I've finished Elden Ring today, what a ride. 128 hours. I switched to a Blasphemous Blade faith build like 85% into the game and it was fun .. but damn it's far easier to play than with a pure melee build. I felt like i was cheating. Even with the cheese build, the Haligtree is by far the hardest section in that game, should have tackled that after some more grinding.

So Melania. That one move is bullshit, and it would have been a far more easier fight if not for that one move, i shit you not. Challenging, sure, but 10 times easier. I was steadily learning her moves, dancing around with her, having a lot of damn fun. But then randomly she decides to push her "Win" button and 80% of the fights ended me. In 24 attempts, i managed to get to her second faze 6 times, got so close to putting her down like 3 times. I was like "OK, i've experienced the living fuck out of this boss battle" and pressed my "Win" button with absolutely no regret. Would have been in my top 5 boss fights if not her "Win" button.

Dragonlord Placidusax - i went back and did this fight. Holy shiiit, was it fun and epic. 7 attempts, moderately hard, mostly because of that semi-bullshit death yellow beams he lets out.

Godfrey, first Elden Lord/Hoarah Loux - the hardest god damn boss battle without counting Melania and her "Win" button, which surprised me because people told me it would be a moderately hard fight - not too easy, but not to hard. He is unrelenting as fuck, especially in his second faze where he was juggling me like no problem in the first dozen attempts. In some cases i was like a spectator laughing out load as that dude was throwing me around the arena with a "what the fuck is this shiiiiit" face. 17 attempts, eventually i put him down. Spectacular fight.

Radagon/Elden Beast - manageable first faze probably because of my overpowered Blasphemous Blade faith build lol. I gotta do a re-do in NG+ tho, it felt like i was cheating. Elden Beast was kinda bullshit, i needed the horse there for sure. But it was a fine spectacle, and overall both of them were a fine end.

My top 5 favorite boss battles (spectacle, lore behind them, difficulty/challenge, fun)

1. Radahn - this guy is the main character of the game, i don't give a fuck.
2. Beast Clergyman/Maliketh, the Black Blade
3. Godfrey, first Elden Lord/Hoarah Loux
4. Dragonlord Placidusax
5. Morgott, the Omen King.

Easily one of the greatest games i've ever played. Easily the culmination of everything From has ever done, and that opinion will never change. Tho the story is just .. there, its endless lore and environmental storytelling kept me invested. It got its flaws (platforming is bullshit), but they never impeded my overall enjoyment. Cannot wait for the inevitable DLC.

Now i'm off to take a shower, hit the gym, relax, then spend the night on NG+ on a Guts (Berserk) Build, pure melee.

Getting much further in Sonic Frontiers. The game continues to surprise. It's definitely got some jank all over it, but there's so much about it that's fantastic. I feel like there's a little platforming challenge or light puzzle every 2 ft. It's everywhere. I spent 30 minutes just fishing, and it was fun. Then there's the race levels and they're all great. Then there's the fights and boss fights and they're also pretty solid.

I dunno man. Game is super fun.

Don't have anything that bad but I am also debating just blasting through crisis core before fire emblem comes out.

Played Yakuza 0, then kiwami and kiwami 2. Great games, the story got me going. 0 is the best.
I hate the shimmering, I mean the dragon engine. IQ is abysmal. Won't play more Yakuza games for a while specially after hearing 3 is among the worst.

Now I am playing kartrider drift.

Gonna spend the weekend playing Greedfall (XSX). Very solid RPG and I've committed to beating it before going back to Elden Ring, and some other titles. I recommend trying it, it follows the classic Mass Effect/Dragon Age formula.

Nearing a hundred hours on Hades. I can see why it won so many GOTY awards - Even if all the encounters aren't great and all the sets you roll dumb fun, the action is so fast and fluid that you can forgive it its faults. It also has no business being written and performed so well. That such an absurd amount of content, so much of it many players might never see, is voice acted (and so well) impresses me. It's also like whiplash coming off the latest Trails game where most non-critical dialogue that is otherwise voiced will just be plain text whenever Koki Uchiyama would have had to voice the line.

First win was on escape attempt #28, soon after I'd unlocked weapon aspects and decided to run the Zeus aspect on the shield. I'd also rolled the entire suite of Zeus boons, including the legendary. Between special lightning strikes on my shield (which was ofc spinning to win), high chance of double strike, chain lightning, jolt status, and of course guaranteed lightning balls on every lightning strike, the run was just a matter of positioning myself at max distance before throwing my shield while cleaning up anything else alive on the periphery. I've come to like most of the weapons though. Currently doing endgame cleanup.

Warhammer Inquisitor Martyr Edition - Still having a good time with this. As an ARPG it has a different feel, and I mean that in a nice way.

Spiderman Remastered - Cleaning up the side activities so I can focus on the main campaign.

Recore - Using this for Microsoft Rewards, but it’s pretty fun.

Ikaruga - My go to quick fix when I’m short on time.

Finished Gravity Rush 2. Last chapter "ETO" was interesting - probably because it was all non-stop to the end w/o side quests once you start on it.
Good or bad, the game throws constantly new elements into game play. I liked the puzzle part - it was pretty refreshing. It also forced me to play as certain style - I am wondering why they didn't even bother to do so pretty much of entirety of game. Also, not even sure if whether panther ability can be manually activated, that I'm not even sure - but I'm glad I'm done with the game.
Storywise it came to a satisfactory conclusion.

For a game that had a lot going on for grounded mission - tighter ground control would have been good... as well as much more solid lock-ons for aerial battles. That's the biggest gripe for me.

I was playing the Raven's Choice DLC now - on near final battle of protecting the Arc against oncoming aerial enemies... and my gravity kicks are keep missing and I can't throw the ground objects because of fucking tree branches getting in the way. Tried 5-6 times and it's really frustrating me to no end... so I think I'll just call it a day and give up for now.

I really liked Raven character - to me, much more attractive than Kat herself - but I think I had my fill of Gravity Rush games for my lifetime. Some parts were super charming, but some parts were pretty weird/lackster and unbalanced. It just didn't feel like a well balanced game, that they threw in many different ideas mashed together... but not all of them really worked together, and some parts were just frustrating - mostly because of camera and lack of lock-on feature.

Moving onto something else now. Maybe start RE8, or just replay Persona 5 Royal on GP...

Mass effect 1 legendary edition. Gameplay doesn't hold up that well, but the story, characters and lore are still top tier.

I just hope bioware can make a comeback with dragon age dread wolf. Criminal what happened to that studio.

Playing Luigi's Mansion 3 on Switch, it's been in my backlog forever. What an absolutely delightful game. It’s the Resident Evil 2 I wanted. Slightly spooky, taking my time to resolve puzzles, catching ghosts and sucking up everything that is not bolted down.

In my Top Ten Switch Games

Glad you are enjoying it ^^

Yeah it’s a really great game, best of the series by far. Perfect atmosphere for Halloween - it’s a shame it released that weekend - a mid October launch would have been ideal.

I agree

I played that game mostly in November 2019 I remember

I'm disappointed about Mario Strikers on Switch but I'm looking forward to their next game

Mario Strikers looks fantastic though

With Luigi Mansion 3

I loved exploring each floor and each floor was very fun to explore and 💯 percent. I loved the anticipation of reaching the next floor and wondering what it looks like and how inventive the environments is.

Also love the name of your PFP. I'm playing Legend of Dragoon and loving it so far. Man I miss the PS1/PS2 era. Been catching up on the games I missed out on during that time

LM3 was the absolute perfect length to 100%. Just long enough to do some fun things but not so much that it dragged. The only stain on that game was the cat, but it’s forgivable.

Where are you currently in Legend of Dragoon? One of my all time favs, needless to say.

I'm 5 hours in

I'm still on What would be consider Disc 1. All characters are at level 8

I was at Hoax and I Defeated those solders. And a Dragoon Lady came and saved me and I got the Dragoon powers. Now I'm in a forest Marshland heading to this volcano area

Started Dragon Quest XI S. Already played the vanilla one for a while when it came out, but ended up dropping it since the music kinda sucked and I was getting a bit bored.

Decided to give it another chance. Played for about 2 hours and so far I'm having fun. The game is comfy as hell, and I'll never get tired of DQ's monster designs.
Hopefully I get lo like this one as much as I loved playing IV, V and VI on the NDS.

High on Life

My goal is to beat it as soon as possible, in case MS decides to remove it. So far, I think it’s fantastic. I like the combat, but I think I like walking around the populated areas more and just listening to everything.
Don't rush it man, game is already short enough.

The last hour or so of this game has been the worst hour of any video game I've ever played. Absolutely woeful. I think I'm very near the end but I'm tempted to sack it off.

Definitely finish it. In the event the DLC is good and if they ever make a sequel. You do feel like it’s wrapping up the experience at the very end.

GT1 and AC: Revelations.

I finished II and Brotherhood. It's crazy how the graphics had a good improvement game to game
How does it feel playing AC:R again? I finished Brotherhood and Revelations back when they came out on 360/PS3. I remember enjoying Revelations, especially towards the end. Best part I remember was how they let you do some management of your gear aesthetics and upgrades.

Doom 3

The first thing that struck me was how good it looks, despite being like 20 years old. Can't imagine how it felt when it was brand new, must've been impressive benchmark that ID set here. It's pretty good so far. I've never really been into this franchise, but this entry is cool. Great atmosphere and spooky monsters coming out everywhere. Feels like a first person Dead Space. I like the cosmic horror vibe, makes it a bit more terrifying.

Olli Olli world as my comfort game, doing the daily leaderboard thing and trying to beat mr scores on prior levels.

Also finished and loved both expansions.

I also started One Piece Odyssey, it's a lot better than I expected.

& I have been playing halo infinite, I had a game of slayer yesterday where I got 27 kills, 16 deaths and still lost, I didn't fancy playing the game after that match.
