Oh superman where are you now
When everything's gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour

Depeche mode just did "wheres the revolution?".
Personally I wish they would do a video for "failed" it feels like how the world is now.

Run the Jewels has quite a bit of them. Close Your Eyes, Early, and Don't Get Captured are all political. Killer Mikes song Reagan, and the Run the Jewels collaboration with DJ Shadow, Nobody Speaks are both political as well

Music Videos aren't important anymore

The same thing that happened to all the non-political music videos

What's up with this, just because they aren't as prominent on TV anymore, doesn't mean that they aren't still a huge force. Of the top 80 most viewed youtube videos of all time Only three are not music videos. In addition for the past four years, at least, the top youtube videos i each year has consistently been music videos.

I would also argue that there presence on TV is slowly coming back. VH1 classic, which mostly only played music videos at night, and itn the early mornings was replaced by MTV classics which is, in general, a 24/7 music video channel.

I think it's more who these videos are catered to I.e the ones actually buying the music. In the 90s it was college and high school kids. Now it's preteens on iTunes using moms credit card. They don't care about politics.

Hip hop has gone highly political since police shootings have gotten more and more spotlight.

Even DJ Khaled produced a video making a statement.

In my experience music videos have largely been replaced by lyric videos

Which can be hit or miss, depending on how good your lyrics are
