Obviously Nintendo and Playstation wont support Xbox Gamepass the way it is because it would eat into there own 3rd party sales etc.

Could Xbox release a gamepass version with just there 1st and 2nd Party titles? For Like $5-10?

Id love Sega to do the same thing with there catalogue from Genesis to Dreamcast. Id pay £5-10 to each to play there library.

Selling gamepass on PS would reduce the amount of people who buy a XSX, and encourage them to buy multiplats on PS instead of Xbox.

Why would anyone get an Xbox at this point if the best service is getting offered on other platforms? Heck, having a PC makes me not even think of Xbox anymore.

I agree. But I think Spencer has said console numbers arent there goal anymore.
Thats why I think they could make half a billion a month just renting there games on the swithc and PS4/ PS5 etc

Again, Im probably not seeing all the major issues, but I only bring it up because Spencer mentioned wanted to be on the Switch before.

Selling gamepass on PC already reduces the amount of people who might buy an XSX, and encourages them to buy multiplats on Steam, GOG and Epic instead of Xbox, because you'd have to be retarded to own a PC and by from the Windows store.

They've already made it perfectly clear they're not really interested in getting people to by an XSX, and that they're happy for Xbox sales to suffer if it gets subscribers to gamepass, because investors are all about subscription services for any media right now, regardless of the effects on that media or viability of the business model long term.

I can definitely see it coming to Switch, especially with streaming added to it, but not Playstation.

Not because I don't think MS would want it, but because Sony gains nothing from helping to prop up a rival.

The only thing I can see why Sony would get gamepass on board is is

A: Neither side see each other as competition.. maybe a long way yet. But Xbox not being concerned with XBX sales is a start.

B: Sony takes a small dollar or 2 from the service too. All they are doing at that point is, basically allowing a publisher they didnt have access to before ( microsfot )to have a netflix like service for that publishers games... if that makes sense lol

If it works for the PC market for MS no reason it wouldnt for the other consoles. More than likely Sony and Nintendo resistant to the idea.

As someone that no longer owns a gaming pc or an Xbox and games solely on ps4 I'd take gamepass because it's extremely good value at the moment but between ps+ and Netflix and Amazon prime subscriptions it's getting expensive every month and seems to be a trend .

In theory, developers were willing to port down to the original Gameboy. The same way so many developers are investing in mobile gaming. I am not saying it would be a good port, or that it would even be the same game after porting, but any system that has a large enough install base is worth porting to.

Nintendo and PlayStation have no reason to allow people to just play 3rd party games on gamepass and when they want them to buy it on there store instead.

Remove the 3rd party and you have just the MS studio games for everyone to enjoy. MS takes a chuck. PLaystation and Nintendo take some grub too.

Leaves 1st and 2nd party Xbox games to be on any system.

Let´s assume that 150 million units is among the 3. Sony being leader currently has about 65% of the units (translates to 43.3% "100% scale"), Nintendo about 45% (30% "100% scale") and Microsoft 40% (26.63% "100% scale").

Gamepass on all 3 systems generates 5 billion hypothetically speaking (100%). That means microsoft alone made $1.33billions, Nintendo made them $1.5billions and Sony generated for them $2,165billions.

Sony´s gonna be like "we made you the most, we demand 30%!"
Nintendo´s saying "next time, we will make more than Sony! We charge only 20%!"

subtotal (1) cost sony, nintendo fee = $950millions
leaves Microsoft to deal with 3rd party fees (another 20%?) = $810millions
subtotal (2) 5 billions revenue minus rival share (950mill) minus 3rd party licensing (810millions) = $3.24 billions out of $5billions revenue
add personal cost,server cost, renting space, bandwidth costs, other licensing, acquiring new games for the services etc. and those $3.24 billions will drop below 3.

Nearly half of the revenue, and that´s just being optimistic.
