What if Quantum Break, Alan Wake, and Max Payne all take place in the same universe?

Think about it, guys. Really think about it. What if the Alex Casey novels were inspired by newspaper articles of Max's life that Alan had read. Night Springs exists in Quantum Break. Alan was a writer on Night Springs. American Nightmare is a Night Springs episode.

posted ?Alan Wake reference in the Quantum Break demo

Imagine if we got a crossover between all three series one day.

We are through the looking glass, people.

If you remember the lines Thomas Zane recites to Alan in the nightmare in the intro: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1F4F2OVOyQ&feature=player_detailpage#t=386)
For he did not know, that beyond the lake he called home, lies a deeper, darker ocean green, where waves are both wilder and more serene. To its ports I've been. To its ports I've been.

The Old Gods of Asgard's song "Balance Slays the Demon" also has a piece of the same text:
Beyond the lake he called home, lies a deeper darker ocean green

Beth Wilder is one of the protagonists (alongside Jack Joyce) and Paul Serene is the main antagonist in Quantum Break.

I'm wondering if Jack Joyce will eventually have to make some kind of a choice or find a balance between the two, to slay the demon. :)

Didn't Remedy/Sam Lake already confirm that Alan Wake and Quantum Break do?

Max Payne is a Rockstar property now though, so nah.

Rockstar and Remedy are pretty tight, it's no big deal.

Op you talk about Jack.
Op you talk about Alan.
Op you talk about Max.

But its not a trifecta. It goes beyond. There is another.

So Max Payne vs Alan Wake vs the Quantum break guy. Who wins?

Probably Max because he seems to be pretty much invincible.

Unless any combination of the 3 characters appeared in the same game in some meaningful way, then I don't think it really makes a difference.

And after playing Max Payne 3 it's hard to see how that world, which feels very real, fits in to the world of Alan Wake, which does not.

Max Payne 1 and 2 dip their toes into the surreal a lot more than 3.

Indeed, Max Payne 1 and 2 have are heavily inspired by film noir and pulp novels, it also loves to reference things like Twin Peaks. The original Remedy games are very much in the same world as Alan Wake, though that should be no surprise as Sam Lake wrote them. Though probably not officially, since Rockstar owns the franchise.

Maybe Max fell into a vat of the time-stopping stuff from Quantum Break and that's why he can do unlimited Bullet Time? Like Obelix with his super strength from the Asterix books.

Max very obviously exists in the Alan Wake universe as the protag of the books Alan wrote. He just doesn't have the same name because lol rockstar

But what if Max is an actual character in the LakeVerse? And Alex Casey, Alan's protagonist, is based on the life of Max Payne? Or what if writing the life of Alex Casey gave Max life?

I just want a real ending for Alan Wake, I feel we're never getting it :(

I really care about the character

Yeah, mark down Alan Wake as one of my least satisfying endings of any game last generation. Just the whole ending section, including the final boss fight, just really sucked the wind out of my sails at the very finish there, but I still loved the game, overall. It's because I enjoyed the game so much, I expected much more out of the ending.

American Nightmare wrapped things up really well, to the point that I'm not even sure where a sequel would go without feeling like more of the same.

Edit: I'm specifically talking about the main plot/Alan here. Sure there are a bunch of tiny things unresolved but they don't really have to be.

Remedy still has the rights... they might revisit him... one day.

One day, he'll come back to us.

i think it will likely happen, but with the way games like walking dead/ wolf among us are developed. digital download title with Episodic releases every couple of months and a retail release per season, i can see ms giving them funding for that.

SHIT
the most prominent symbol in Alan Wake is the torch
fc,550x550,black.u1.jpg

a symbol of enlightenment it can only be found by quite literally shining your light on it.
what is the most prominent symbol we've seen in Quantum Break so far?
the butterfly, specifically the monarch
now i had always heard that moths were attracted to flames (the torch) and being that butterflies are KINDA like moths i decided to bing search "are monarch butterflies phototactic" and i got this
being that butterflies are symbols of resurrection due to their natural life cycle and MONARCHS are attracted to light (the torch's FLAME) and resurrection by flame is associated with the pheonix..
you see where im going with this?
half life 3 confirmed
alan wake WILL be back
