What is going on with Pix 'N Love Publishing (The History of Nintendo)?

When the book "Console Wars" got released, I remembered that I still needed to buy "The History of Nintendo 1+2" from Pix 'N Love Publishing.

I went to their page and bought both books directly from them. They state that they will try to dispatch all orders within 24 hours but my order is now two weeks old and I still haven't heard back from them.
I tried to contact them via Email after a week twice and they still haven't answered.

Anybody know what is going on with them? Their page also does seem a little bit outdated when you look at some details (poll, The History of Mario with a planned release of Q4/2012,...)

Was really looking forward to both the Nintendo books and their planned Gunpei Yokoi one. Right now, I am not sure what is going on over there and I had to claim for a refund with Paypal :/

I'm not sure what is going on with their French-language releases, but their English books have been a clusterfuck of delays, broken promises and borderline-scamming. I've got the first volume of The History of Nintendo and I was keen on the other books they had lined up, but when release dates kept slipping, then there was utter silence, then more promises... well, I gave up.

If they ever get their act together I'd be interested, as the first volume was interesting stuff (though a decent proofreader/editor was sorely needed) but until I actually see the books available somewhere I'm not giving them any money.

I have the first two Nintendo volumes but that reminds me I've had some amazon credit tied up in their gunpei yokoi book for about 6 months. Time to get that back.

Yeah, it's really quite ridiculous and disappointing. It seems to me like they're just very focused on their French language business and don't have anyone dedicated to the other side so if they don't have a contract (like with the Sonic book) then it's just not important.

One of the dudes from PNL was on 8-4 Play last year and he seemed decent enough. But there is no excuse for a translated version of something that already exists taking years upon years to get right.

I had a similar problem where they didn't respond to anything so I cancelled the order via paypal and got my money back luckily. Don't trust them.

That reminds me I heard the English side of the business literally did have someone do a runner with a load of money a while back. I wish I could understand more about why it is a separate side to the business than the French one.

I paid upfront for History of Nintendo 2 and a Gunpei Yokoi book. If the latter ever comes it will be a pleasant surprise. It is a shame as volume 1 went okay (but from the sounds of things the pre-order for 2 was not a bad decision if they are taking money and not sending anything i.e. there is no stock and not enough money to print more stock).

Got a rather fast answer on twitter asking for my order number. Let's see what happens. After reading all these horror stories I won't let them bullshit me until it is to late to follow through on my Paypal claim.

Surprised I never heard bad things about them before. I am used to read about stuff getting delayed but outright scamming people out of their orders is something different.

So after the one reply I got on Twitter asking for my order number they went silent again. Filed for a Paypal refund and hope it will go through.

I can only warn everyone of these scammers from Pix 'n Love publishing. Not buying their books on Amazon or other retailers because it will somehow lead to these assholes getting some money.
