When I think of 2013, if I could only play one game it would be.........

Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Just put it right into my veins... Or directly into my 3DS, as the case may be.

I'm not normally one for download versions of games, but, this is the perfect game to have always on my 3DS.
Will have to get it for my wife's 3DS as well though, since I know she'll be playing it a bunch also.

agreed. the only game i can see it making sense for. (besides daily layton puzzles, i suppose.)

The one between Dark Souls 2 and Wasteland 2 that actually makes it out.

Would have been Atelier Ayesha if it had dual audio.

Tough question, this is not like 2011 or 2012, there are too many must play titles this year.

But most important one of them? Pokémon XY for sure. Y, to be specific.

I don't know. Especially when it comes to Nintendo games I still like to buy the physical copy. At the very least it will hold its value and I'll be able to sell it eventually for a decent amount if I get tired of it.

As far as I know, I don't really know what one game I want to play in 2013. I'm really looking forward to this 3DS Animal Crossing. The last one I had was the DS one which I liked, but it felt a little feature lacking which this game seems to have fixed.
I would love a new 3D Zelda for the 3DS (Majora's Mask would also be awesome), but that hasn't really been announced yet.

Definitely Rayman Legends if I had a Wii U (not going to port beg, but I am waiting to see if it does come to more consoles).

Hopefully we'll get our first Next Gen games this year, so I'm hoping to get to play one of those if its good and looks AMAZING (Kameo 2?!?).

This is true, but then, I never sell games, so, a game's resale value doesn't matter much to me.
For me, the main consideration is liking having a physical copy that I can hold onto which I always know where it will be and that it will never go anywhere. I think for me though, that will be outweighed by the benefit of Animal Crossing, any time, anywhere.

It's tough to answer something like this since most of us haven't even played these upcoming titles. I mean, I'd love to say Ni No Kuni, but that doesn't come out until next week, and who knows I may end up hating it. But for the sake of this thread, I'll stick with that since the demo was enough of a representation of the game to sell me on it.

Are we talking about officially announced games that we know for sure they'll be coming in 2013?

If so Ni no kuni.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch.

Ni no Kuni.

NI NO KUNI

NI NO KUNI

how are people not all over this game?!

You guys are all cool people in my book :) Seriously so hyped for this... I just hope Namco Bandai doesn't fuck up with shipping it to me.

The Last of Us

Because I'm assuming Watch Dogs is a 2014 title.
If not, Watch Dogs. We know so little about the game which means it has all that potential in my mind.
With The Last of Us I know they have a realistic goal which I'm certain they can accomplish.

Last of Us, without a doubt.

No matter what, I won't miss Naughty Dog's swan song for this generation of consoles.

Ni No Kuni comes a close second though, 2 more weeks!

Provided it makes 2013, the Last Guardian. If it lives up to my high (but realistic) expectations, it'll be a game for the ages.

Otherwise Dark Souls 2 (or is that 2014...I forget), even with all the questions and doubts I have at this point, it's still the sequel to one of the best games ever made, so I want to believe it's capable of living up to its predecessor.
