How does Galactus eat in the comics? Does he chew and swallow, or does he use his ship like in that Silver Surfer cartoon from the 90s?

He simply allows his hunger to consume things, like an energy assault. Matter, energy, it all gets absorbed.

He has machines, but those serve to make the process more efficient. He doesn't need them.
