Castlevania for sure. Bloodstained really made me realize how much I still enjoy this type of game.

Maybe SimCity? Skylines never really didbit for me. I need that old skool Maxis touch.

Tomb Raider and Resident Evil, easily.

At least, with the success of RE7 and REmake2 and the inmiment REmake3, I have faith that capcom will return to RE roots

With TR, SE would give us a TR Classic Collection al least :(

Phantasy Star :messenger_loudly_crying:

I live in the past, I know.

Oh, Uncharted, it should be more like 2 & 3 (I know some find them very different).

Maybe an old school God of War would be great too, that fixed camera was great for set pieces.

Enough with the new Super Mario Bros bullshit, give us a 2D return to Mario 3 style platforming and exploration.

Would love to see a tightly-knit new Crazy Taxi too. Something like the first one. No sprawling open world or silly tricks just good old back to simple basics.

Tomb Raider, don't need to expand on this, I played the original a few months ago, patched to the gills for smoother graphics and controls and its still an incredible experience. In over twenty years none of the sequels can touch it. One of the best games ever made in my oppinion.

Splinter Cell!!!! Please Splinter Cell!!!!

They were such good games, both MGS and Splinter Cell co-existed because they were both great games.

However i am also realistic and knowing Ubisoft of 2019/20 i can only imagine how they will fuck it up.

WoW, obviously, given that Classic has demonstrated how fucking shit the current game is compared to what it was like in 2006.

I'm gonna sort of say Zelda, that Link's Awakening remake was dope, but it was a remake. ALBW was also dope but it was ALTTP2. Give us a truly new 2D Zelda adventure. Same goes for Metroid, the Metroid 2 remake was cool, make a new one.

GTA, but that's not going to happen.

Wolfenstein. None of this 'revolutionary' shitty shooty shit, I'm talking 8 bit 2D stealth game. Gimme the real Wolfenstein 3!

Silent Hill, there hasn't been one to get SH right since 4.

Hmmm don't understand all the TR replies? The latest TR reboot and the sequels have been fine?

Would definitely like the NFS series to go back to its roots

I am just going to reiterate what others said.

The Elder Scrolls
Splinter Cell
Ghost Recon
Mario
Phantasy Star
Halo
Ugh like the other poster said, Bioware as a whole! This might not be a popular opinion but I wish Microsoft could buy Bioware. Although most are gone, maybe Bioware and Obsidian would be able to get the creative juices flowing again, or atleast have Obsidian work on some of Biowares catalog/ideas?
Rare as a whole.

If I could separate the online Final Fantasy games from the rest of the series I'd go with that and take it a step further, FFXI itself needs to go back to its roots, meaning focus on getting people to explore a large, merciless world where even the smallest achievements are satisfying and celebrated. This appeal to the mainstream is an appeal to more casual play styles that come at the expense of what made the genre so damned rewarding.

Conversely, almost any EA licensed sports game would work for me, too. NHL, NBA, Madden, FIFA, Triple Play - give me the simplicity back, sports sims featuring 4+ local multiplayer that anyone can pick up and play.

  • Metroid , where is my Metroidvania at, nowadays you got to play indie games to get it back.
  • Driver , we don't have good Arcade driving games anymore
  • Pokemon . i have no idea why the new games aren't fundamentally any better than Red/Blue

Silent Hill

But there is more of a chance for a live action Super Smash Brothers porno spin-off published by Nintendo than another legitimate Silent Hill game.

Call of duty - I loved the long single player campaigns in the first 2 games

Monster Hunter - I don't think i like a single thing they changed in World. I want a Freedom Unite style game with modern graphics, not some scout fly assassin's creed stealth nonsense

GTA - having 3 main characters sucked. Having a huge open world with far less to do than San Andreas sucked more. Not getting single player DLC because of fucking shark cards sucked the most

My vote goes to Dead Rising. Go back to what made the first game great. It's difficulty, timer and ai that actually requires you to escort them. With the failure of DR4, I hope Capcom doesn't shutter the franchise because as a fan of the original, I've basically been starved to death for a true follow up.

I also played it on my Vita. First i replayed the whole of TR1 and now i'm in Bartoli's Hideout in TR2. It took me a while to get used to the lack of a proper L2/R2 and the Vita is a bit uncomfortable to hold when playing these types of games for long sessions but after a while the controls became once again second nature. Such amazing level design, atmosphere and a Lara with an unapologetic iconic, and very British posh humor.

Too many human enemies in TR2. But overall the game has higher highs than TR1. 40 Fathoms and Floating Islands are my favs.

TR3 is when the difficulty ramped up a little too high for me. You need patience for that one.

Lupin3

Targeting terrorists with a D-Pad
Gears of War. The open world bullshit and "microtransactions" in #5 should burn in hell. Unfortunately, we know it won't since The Coalition will not stop until Gears is completely dead, not almost completely dead like right now.

Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Metroid...

Oh, and for the Nintendo games I'm referring to the SNES-era games. That was the fucking pinnacle of these series.. wow.

Yes i agree that TR2 had a bit too many human enemies for its own good. Yet the game was so big with so many levels and areas that you were just you and the environments, areas with a clear focus on exploration and platforming (The Great Wall,40 Fathoms,Ice Palace,Temple of Xian) that i honestly didn't mind it so much. Fans of the Reboot trilogy love to use TR2 as a counter argument that "the classics also had a lot of shooting" but that "argument" is very shalow and misleading because the shooting in the classics (even in TR2) was very much spread out (unlike the Reboot games) and was never the focus of the games (again unlike the Reboot games).

And yes TR3 is easily the hardest one but it's also the most rewarding and satisfying IMO. For me my main problem with TR3 was its save system (on PS1) but for PC and emulator players that has never been a problem.

I would like a new Assassin's Creed with the classic gameplay and more story focused.

Origins and Odyssey are great, but I miss the Ezio day's, no dialogue options and less open world stuff, interesting characters with defined personalities.

Also with better mission design and less grinding stuff and no xp/rpg.

They can make two series, Odyssey type and classic ones.

I would buy both.

Another vote for Battlefield. They keep drawing farther away from what made them unique. BF1 and BF5 are basically just worse versions of CoD with larger maps at this point. EA needs to take this away from DICE and let someone take the reigns.

shin megami tensei, seriously though, we don't need a darker persona, but give us the edgelord kaneko design and mature trope
