Upset as in games that have caused a lot of anger, frustrations, and in general can irritate you badly in certain ways. My list would have to be these

Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Gears of War 2, Halo 3, Chess, Super Mario Sunshine, SSX Tricky, NBA 2K8 through NBA 2K12, Resident Evil Zero, Super Mario Bros. 3

Every game causes anger and frustration to a degree, and it's usually because of the time between when / where you died and the previous checkpoint. Sometimes they are spread too far out and require doing a bunch of crap you already the last 20 times you died.

Counter-Strike had me raging for a couple of years. I usually never break stuff when gaming (as in I haven’t done it before this and never since) but I fist punched my desktop computer once so bad that the entire chassi bent inwards because it lagged so badly during a match. Back then the net latency was so bad that it probably had more of an impact on my ability as a player, but this fucking PC got all kinds of hiccups unrelated to that. Now that I’m older I realize it was probably related to the HDD failing or some other part of the hardware. Back then it was ”that fucking computers fault”.

Life was easier back then.

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
Battlefield with randos who dont PTFO and/or only care about K/D.
There is a TDM mode why are you here if all you want to do is snipe from the edge of the map.

Battlefield with basically every medic.
Mate you can see me, I know you can....the way is clear, I know it is.....why the fuck are you running away from me!

Battlefield when rubberbanding was still a thing

Im clearly well around that corner, what the fuck game is this do bullets go around corners in this?

Battlefield with that one guy who loves jets
Why are you even in a squad, why not just play solo and keep spawning in the jet?

Battlefield 1 with the right/wrong behemoth
Weve been winning this whole game, this thing shows up and suddenly changing the tides. (I know that was the point).

I play alot of Battlefield so pretty much its the only game that I get to see the best and worst of it enough to actually get frustrated.
Its highs are super high, its lows kill me to death!

Tekken 7 after you whiffed that one move and now know its over.
You can only pray to the chaos gods that your opponent doesnt have a game ending combo in their repertoire cuz now you are a passenger.

Dirt 2.0 after a perfect run.
Only to fuck it up just as your sphincter relaxes......fuck! This game should be called Anxiety Attack 2.0

Lack of pause button and unexplored map in Dark Souls game. Have always been gimmicks. They fixed pause button with Sekiro and they are giving an unexplored map in Elden Ring. So yeah just like usual father time proves me right again but the "oh its the games brilliant design attitude" really enraged me. Espesially since I am the better player of these games. The maze like level in dark souls is great espesially when the path is unkown but once you have explored stuff you shouldnt be made to memorize stuff like you are taking an university exam. There is a line between fun activity and chore. Many a times navigation was a big chore in dark souls series. They really freed player with Sekiro and now in elden ring they are providing mount. And i have been put down so many fucking times when i said navigation is not great in souls games and from Software needs to improve on those front. Reddit subreddit is the most toxic and top of it these guys just suck at Dark Souls. I couldnt believe that these elitist posers had issue defeating Gundyr.

I broke two Pro controllers playing Smash Ultimate against laggy Ness PK Fire spammers.

I cannibalised the first controller for parts and used them to repair the second one. I also learned how to deal with laggy Ness players so that they ragequit on me rather than vice versa.

Well for me it's most likely a scenario in which outside factors play a role, those I have no direct control over. Say, escort missions for example. Stupid AI causing stupid shit etc

Another one would be doing some timed event where you get stuck do to bad collision detection and or a janky camera or janky controls.

Isshin Sword Saint fight in Sekiro.

It didn't upset me but it was frustrating and it kinda disturbed me because I had a Tetris Effect so when I went to sleep I'd dream of trying to fight him. It took me about 3 days and hundreds of trys to beat him. The entire fight is stuck in my head. I know every inch of that area and all the different sounds/cues. I literally went through different stages. Frustration. Anger. Hatred. and then eventually i became "numb" and was just mindlessly doing run after run. By the time I beat him I hardly felt any relief. I was still kinda pissed off because it took so long.

It's probably the toughest boss fight in any game I've played. Maybe it's just me though cause I'm sure someone will come along and say he wasn't that difficult but that's just my experience.

this is the fight here:

Only game to ever make me come close to destroying a controller was Final Fantasy X.

The time attack mini-game to get the best weapon for Tidus where your riding a chocobo collecting balloons or something and those FREAKING BIRDS fly at you. Try after try they drove me to my breaking point and I started to twist the controller handles in opposite directions. Thankfully the DualShock was pretty sturdy and able to take the punishment until I thought better of pushing it further. Something about the speed of those birds, and the fact that they are just birds causing me grief when I can defeat most anything in the game really got to me. Eventually got it later on and the lightning mini-game was no problem at all.

Any game that has an padded escort mission (Looking at you RE4)

Arkham riddler challenges ( The whole series)

The awfully long puzzles in Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice, slows down the game

Skyward Sword HD - the controls, both motion and buttons suck in certain areas

Sekiro - everything, my first and last Souls game, too hard for me

Assassin's Creed Borehalla - I was so damn bored, I was mad I paid full price for it to be my first next gen game on XSX. The world, missions, etc were so shallow it pissed me off

Those are few I can think of top off my head

Counter strike is the one for me as well. Although it's the only competitive game I played as a teenager. I'm quite confident they go hand in hand.

Dark Souls when it comes to single player, Counterstrike when MP.

For CS it was so bad the neighbors where complaining. 😅

Gothic 3 so many bugs I couldnt play it.
Xenoblade Chronicles X retarded regressive backwards music while the rest of the game is futuristic.
TLoU being hailed as the holy grail of gaming when it came out and then 12 FPS when there is 1 enemy on screen (no joke sometimes thats happening. If your game focuses on visuals more than on games your a moron and your product is not a game anymore)

Nothing, NOTHING can beat Smash Bros’s arbitrary move priority, collision detection and recovery time. There’s been times I screamed like I could murder someone and threw my controller on the ground (only for the additional CPU fighter in a 4- player match to start dancing around my character doing absolutely nothing, like the cheating, input-reading scum it is). One of my biggest wishes is that my closest gaming friends never fell under that awful game’s spell. I’ve wasted years playing that shit just for them.

Mario Kart is a close, close second. MK desperately needs an option to select which items can appear during races. That fucking lightning bolt can go fuck itself.

Dark Souls 3. I endured through most of DS2’s bullshit, but 3 broke me. Beat it, never looked back.

I’ll see your lightning bolt and raise you that fucking blue shell. I swear, the only time you see it during an entire race is when it’s YOU in first place.

Yah, but at least there’s a way to get rid of the blue shell, and you know it’s coming. While the CPU always, always, always uses the lightning when at least one of the human players is jumping or flying over a gap. ALWAYS. There’s no coming back from that at 150cc.

Honestly, I’d completely forgot about lightning striking when you’re mid-air, and now I’m triggered. Basically, Nintendo’s AI characters are corrupt, cheating bastards.

Any multiplayer game.
Souls games - I've given the genre a few chances, but it's not for me.
Roguelike/lite games when I get bad rewards from the run or die close to achieving something. I don't play many of them because of that.

Smash Bros Ultimate, although I only start to get angry out of exhaustion after playing for over an hour or two.

It also depends on the loss, if the match felt even enough then I usually respect it, but when its a character with really annoying aerials or projectiles like Palutena or Rob, then I feel like smashing the Switch in half.

The game drove me so mad I had to start maining Snake just to troll other trolls with nades and nikitas.

Timesplitters 2 - Atom Smasher.

That level is damn near impossible on Hard. After many hours I managed to beat it by the skin of my teeth. If I'm remembering right, there are no health packs and only one set of armour to be had. Oof.

another thing I'd add is that stupid baseball mini game from A Link Between Worlds, it feels like im hitting a pinball paddle in vain.

I don't get frustrated much anymore.... but....

I was playing D2 multiplayer, could have been Iron Banner or something and this kid challenged me to snipers only on Bannercourt.

I was pulling ahead and heard his banging and hitting over my microphone and he started saying stuff like 'I won't break my arm again'

I let him catch up and made it as believable as I could, I was very disturbed by it and hope he gets some therapy. Could have been trolling by...why?

Escort missions. Especially those where you have to snipe the enemies.
As much as I love Resident Evil 4, I absolutely hate the entire Ashley segment - which is a huge chunk of the game.

“LEON, HELP!”

”LEON, HEEEELP”

Fare thee well

GvGs in Guild Wars games helped define what the word 'tilt' truly meant for me. You train with 10-20 people for weeks, pour out all your heart and soul into improving and strategy, and then.... you still get wiped to the floor as if you never tried at all. It's enraging and humbling at the same time. I kind of miss it sometimes.

Chris, I hold you dear to my heart but Ashley isn't half as bad as most. From what I remember her actions are very straight forward and it's mostly up to act pre emptivly and that's it..

You're not alone. To this day I see it as the most difficult boss fight I've ever played. Took me weeks to memorize the patterns but eventually you do and then it's like you've entered the matrix.
