And are the two any way related? I've heard for a while people claiming that the Big Show was Andre's son.

Andre was bigger and BIG SHOW is not his son! That was just a gimmick!

Paul Wight (Big Show) and Adre (Rousimoff) aren't related in any way. They share the same affliction though that being giantism (acromagely ((SP?)). Paul's was caught earlier and he had a medical procedure to help slow it down. But it wil still kill him in the near future. He has said himself he doesn't expect to see his late 40's.

Actually Paul Wight is taller thatn Andre, they employed every camera trick in the book to make him look taller on camera during his feud with Hogan and during every interview.

They had Andre stand on boxes to make him seem taller. Andre at his tallest was about 7-0 to 7-1. Add in the "wrestling" height (BS stats they give their talent to seem larger than life) and he bcame 7-4. For an example for "wrestling height", Test was introduced as 7 feet tal and month by month he got shorter and shorter.. to the point of being announced as 6-6 by the announcers.

Paul Wight is a legit 7-2. Now granted it isn't much of a difference, but huge is huge.

Um, no way. Hulk Hogan used to wrestle Andre back in the day and I can tell ya first hand Andre Litterally towered over Hogan, the Big Show's just a few inches taller than Hogan.

There's a televised documentary on TV right now regarding the life of Andre, which stated The Big Show is 7'-2 1/2", with Andre being just under 7'-10".

A&E channel right now :)

No way is Big Show taller than Andre. Like someone said, all you have to do is look at Show next to Hogan and then Andre next to Hogan and see the clear difference.

I always remember Andre being announced at either 7'4" or 7'7", though obviously that's inflated.

A couple of cool Andre tales:

- He once drank 50+ beers in one sitting in a bar.

- He could fit a hard-boiled egg through the ring on his finger.

Andre's height was extremely exaggerated. Both he and Big Show are probably anywhere from 6'11" - 7'1". As for which is taller, they're probably about the same.

Big Show weighs more. Easily. When you look at Andre, his head, hands, and feet were just humungous. His legs were pretty skinny compared to the rest of him. Big Show's just a big ol' barrel.

DJ, I've seen them live... not as much of a difference as you think.

Hogan isn't all that tall. I'm taller than Hogan (at least soince last month), I'm 6-8. Andre also had lifts in his boots and a back brace on to keep him upright.

Trust me...

Andre was never anywhere close to 7-10 lol. He was 7 feet to 7-1 on his best days.

Hogan was always listed as 6-8, 300lbs. I can vouch for the fact of whil ehe is a massivley muscular man (even at 50), he's not taller that 6-6, 6-7. A legit 7 footer will still look towering. Hell, even Taker towered over Hogan. Taker is 6-10.

They do disguise height differences for matches where you are to have one guy much larger than the other.

Any Kane and Taker match. Glen Jacobs (Kane) would where a lift on his boots to boost him up to Takers eye level. It's all about the visual experience.

Think of wrestling as a big magic show, it's all about misdirection.

Alex is right. Sorry folks. Overall Big Show is the bigger of the 2, but he will NEVER be listed taller than Andre due to respect. Andre's family collects a paycheck from Vince still. Mostly due as thanks for all he contributed, to his dying days.

Yea, that could be true.
I know how TV promoters love to exagerate, when Shaq was here at LSU he was ALWAYS listed as 7'-1/2", but as soon as mid season of his last year started (the height of him being scouted by TV and NBA teams) he was all of a sudden 7'-2".

He visits the sports bar that I DJ at once a year at least, and trust me, the man is enormous, but the bar I play at is where all the sports jocks and cheerleaders hang out, so there's plenty of tall peeps here, and by comparison Shaq isn't 7'-2".

hmm, tough to find the right pics but here's Hulk next to Andre and another next to Big Show. Not sure if camera tricks were involved but likely not in any of these. Maybe Big show one though. Im trying to find one in ring.

:lol

I forgot how funny Giant Gonzalez costume was, man he was really tall, too bad he could not wrestle at all.

Well, going by J2Cool's pics, I guess nostalgia was clouding my memory. :p Unless the Big Show is on stilts in the back there, or Hogan lowered somehow, Show is much taller than Andre was.

Giant Gonzalez looks to be bigger than both of them based on that pic above, though. If Undertaker is really 6'10" as someone mentioned, looks like Gonzalez is a legit 7'3"-7'4".

Pete Carroll Owns Me
Just an example of how the WWE inflates peoples size.....

<-------- I managed to find a few WWE Metal matches that guy over there Low Ki. He was announced at like 21olbs. In ROH he's announced at 175.
