Who's taking days off work for E3?

It's pretty much a yearly thing for me since I have a job. I could follow E3 from work, but relaxing and watching everything from home is just the only good way for me. And it doesn't take all of my days in my vacation bank in one go, so I still have some left, even by taking a week off (which I do.)

Who else is taking days off from work to follow E3 and watch every conferences?

I could include school, but you can't really "set" days off from work now, can you? (It's also final exams season usually when E3 is around, so it's even worse.)

I have Monday off for the big conferences. Might break diet that day sit back with a huge pizza, some Doritos, and Mt. Dew to wash it all down.

I did last year and it was well worth it especially for that Sony conference just owning MS.

With the new consoles out and such, I likely won't.

It's better to be late, then you can watch the videos in sync with gaf thread timers and get the full experience without crashes. I watch seasons of tv series in sync with gaf sometimes to get their reactions in real time lol. I go back and watch conferences in sync with the appropriate threads to get the reactions all over again (like that xbox one reveal, oh boy).

Can't exactly skip the exams for this semester :p
But I'll take an hour or two off learning for Nintendo's presentation at least. Will be nice to get a break inbetween all the learning. All other trailers will have to wait a bit though :(

Defintely not. Can't afford it.

The hardest part will be avoiding spoilers since I'll want to watch Nintendo's Digital Event once I get home...probably some time after 4pm.

For the entire day, no Facebook, no press sites, and especially no NeoGAF (if it even survives the traffic).

But I'm not losing pay (I don't have paid personal/vacation days) just for some video game news.

I was seriously thinking about taking that Tuesday (is it Tuesday?) off for the Nintendo Digital Event. Not sure yet, though. Maybe if I take that Monday too and make it a long weekend.

Absolutely.

This is my hobby and I am very enthusiastic about it. Some people take time off to go see a ballgame, or a concert, or go to the beach. Well this is my equivalent of those activities.

I have it off, but mostly because I have way too many PTO days and my boss insisted I take time off each month, so I picked the 9th and 10th.

These days the actual drip of news outside the big-3 press conferences is pretty slow, so you'd definitely be better off just taking the morning of Nintendo's conference and the morning of Microsoft's conference off and going in the rest of the time (Sony's conference is at night)

Why would I take days off when I can watch it at work? =D

Pretty much all the conferences are on one day - watching most of that at work could cause problems. I could see myself taking the day off to fully enjoy them. Fortunately I live in Europe, so it's manageable without that. All we need to do is to bother with being tired on Tuesday morning since Sony is broadcasting during the night for us.

Considering taking Tuesday off for Nintendo. It would be a first for me, but I kind of feel like I want to watch that conference without interruptions.

Actually this is more like what I'm planning for Tuesday. It helps that I have people to discuss gaming things with at work, so this is probably the best plan of all.

I get together with friends every E3 and we watch all the big conferences together. It's awesome, and one of my favorite times of the year.

No, I work nights and have the first day of E3 off so I would be fine.

Even I wasn't, I have never taken off work for a gaming event.

I own my own retail businesses, so I'll technically be off for the press conferences at least.

I don't care about anything but the conferences, though.

Doesn't matter too much in the UK, because even the early ones start at like 5pm.

But yeah, I'll be upset to miss the start of Microsoft's, but it's not worth taking time off.

I am. I live in Europe so I could follow most of the coverage after work, but I want to actually sleep more than a couple of hours each night. And I don't have any big plans this summer, so why not? Also, GB's after hours podasts is one of my favourite things about E3 and that's in the middle of the night for me.

I do.

I do it every year. The day E3 starts and the day after are off work. :)
Best time of the year!
