hes a shit president.

Angry and mindless, you say?

@Redneckerz @Ivellios this is what I mean by mocking being a necessary social mechanism, otherwise people like this carry on these behaviours unchecked and end up in a radicalization spiral. Unfortunately, many people are too far down that path already so the mocking is fruitless.
or hes angry with the way things are und you are trying to be "intellectualy" superior by mocking him without even engaging in what he is sayin.

I am actually interested in how consistent you are in your application of your moral compass.

The why [broken homes] happen isn’t my real concern here. Your moral policing and it’s consistency is especially since you injected it into the conversation.
to be fair, this startet with you screaming fake media from the top of your lungs, how about you discredit what was written with some evidence? i don't get where you try to lead this discussion. all i see it your leading it away from what was said.

Trump is an fool who is willing to destroy something to gain something when that very tactic isn't needed in the first place.

Learn to apply your strategies more effectively.
He won a presidency with that tactic. I'd say it served him well at least until now.

Its so nice to see how everyone who don’t likes trump has to be a left lib. Or npc or „insert category here“.
Nah, it's perfectly valid to be anti-Trump. What makes @SaviourMK2 an NPC is the use of terms in bold below. It's a dead giveaway that he's just parroting the conditioning and not worth taking seriously. Old mate is deranged and unable to think clearly.

Angry, mindless rant incoming.

He's a miserable sack of shit and piss whose has earned nothing in life and has gotten everything he's wanted short of a fucking football team. When I have kids they have the displeasure of having to learn about Trump in history class, god forbid they choose him as a subject.
He cares nothing for anyone and cons people into believing he does with the most minimalistic New York rat-faced BS. A fucking grade A idiot who cant accept that he's not smart enough to understand how an ecosystem works but can verify there's no global warming because it snowed. He sits his fat ass on the couch and calls TV shows and turns up the volume so he can hear himself on television.
My loathing for the rat comes before 2015, before Obama, before my understanding of politics when his claim to fame was fucking garbage reality TV show. I fucking hate reality TV shows ever since Survivor aired and that type of television is all my mother and sister watched anymore. He had a fucking sleazy rat voice and asshole-ish nature. My dislike of Trump accelerated as time moved on and he became more senile and mentally declined and turned from an obnoxious rat to an annoying ass uncle you wish would just stop showing up at family gatherings between calling TV and Radio shows just to shoot off his mouth in an attempt to sound like he knew what he was talking about. Then the piece of garbage runs for president, in a fucking publicity stunt, and manages to technically win by exposing the right's most disgusting characteristics that I feel they'll never recover from. Say all you want about the left, I criticize it to death myself in my personal time, but the right has fallen further and faster than the left could ever hope to, and there's nothing you can say to change that. His very life in a cancer on society, I honestly don't know who to blame more, Fred Trump for deciding not to cheat on his wife that faithful day or for Mary Anne not getting the world's most much needed abortion.
Laugh and troll me to the pits of hell for saying this, but I'll never find true happiness until he's either in prison for the remainder of his worthless life or he's gone from this world.

You want to test my moral consistency? So give me an example of an individual, not group, to who I could apply it to. Like I said, if you were being honest, you would've chosen Obama (since you're trying so hard to bring skin colour into this).
I gave you a group that has proclivities for multiple partners.

Let's put this way, a man, who has unprotected sex with a porn star, raw dog style, whilst his wife is pregnant with their child, is not an exemplar of high moral/ethical standards, especially if he is to be elected to the highest office in the country. This individual not only makes a mockery of the "sacred vows/family values" the right wing is constantly screaming about, but also has no concern about passing potential diseases to his wife, which could do permanent damage to her and be potentially fatal to the unborn fetus.
Nice porn shaming. Also if you think Trump is a true conservative....

He is literally bringing the Left circa 2008-2010s dreams come true and now the left would rather shit blood and spit venom than work with him.

But I can see why you might be a fan ;-)
Don’t know what you are getting at. I don’t like Stormy and I don’t like Trump. I just find it fascinating that you’ll offer up your moral outrage for Trump and republicans in general and you squirm when another group is brought to test your consistency.

Bill Clinton showed that the office of the presidency held no moral grounds back in the 90’s inside the Oval Office. I mean we could go back further to John Kennedy in the 60’s. Lord knows how many presidents have partaken of poon and booty over the years outside of their marriages while in office. Politicians should -never- be regarded as moral upstanding people. I surmise that hell itself has welcomed a great many over the years,

He's an asshole and embarrassing as someone meant to represent 325+ million people and the best nation in the history of the world. But he also hasn't started two wars, so that's nice.

I got caught up in the liberal frenzy and tears on this site when he got elected, but have tuned out all the daily media shit and realized how much of a whiny bitch I was being. He's the President and I still want the country to succeed.

Could it be because he's regularly insulting large parts of the population?
Could it be because he's a proven pathological liar regardless of the topic?
Could it be because he pretends to work hard while spending a significant part of his awake time watching TV, playing golf and shitposting on twitter?
Could it be because he's embarrassing the US internationally with his constant buffoonery, shitting on allies while cozying up to autocracies?
Could it be because he's got a track record of surrounding himself with corrupt crooks and yes-men, reflecting on his own personality and leadership?
Could it be because he's completely poisoned the political climate and the relationship with the press?
Could it be because he's pulling the old con of pretending to be for working class americans while doing the opposite, on top of enriching himself with taxpayer money?
Could it be because he's politically supporting the destruction of the environment and the removal of people's rights?
Could it be because he's a cheater (to his wife), self-admitted sexual harrasser, worryingly attracted to his own daughter and generally a vile human being?
Could it be because he's a fickle, hypocritical egomaniac who thinks too highly of himself, as shown by numerous accounts of people who interacted with him throughout his life and his tendency to quickly claim glory while deflecting blame depending on how the markets and international politics swing?

I dunno OP, you tell me.

Also, pre-emptive disclaimer: If you want to deflect that some other politician does some of these things too, that's a reason to dislike that other politician, not a reason to stop disliking Trump.
Bravo.

Well, mocking is making fun of something, while insulting is causing offense. Mocking can cause offense, therefore mocking can be an insult. Some of the most effective and hilarious satire is also the most offensively insulting (Jonathan Swift springs to mind). However, mocking has the extra accomplishment of being funny, or at the very least amusing, while flat out insulting someone is just being cruel. So you can not say that the two offenses are equal in effect. It is easier to forgive a good joke at someone's expense than it is to forgive a good insult. For instance, I am currently mocking this distinction by treating it with seriousness and studiousness in order to draw attention the absurdity of taking this distinction at anything other than face value. I'm not doing this to make a point or cause offense, but merely because I am bored and if I don't occupy my fingers sufficiently enough they tend to roam down to my nether regions for a bit of good sport - nothing wrong with that in moderation, but it is generally best to limit the wanderings of errant fingers, such as they go, or else it does chafe something fierce precisely in the place where it would be least appreciated. Now, having said what I had to say on this matter, I do bid thee good day, sir.
Lets not forget intent, though.

Trump has not gotten anything done. The alliance of Democrats with establishment Republicans (McCain, Flake, Ryan etc) has blocked him at every turn. When he did try to get a few things done with executive orders, the courts slapped it down every time.

There will be no wall or any other border security, immigration is at all-time highs so Americans are being replaced by new tribes at a good clip. After 2020 Texas will flip blue, so there will never be another Republican president.

The next Democrat president will raise our taxes back, so you should enjoy that. We should get a couple of cool new wars from her, which will re-ignite the profits of the defense industry corps.

She will also take away everyone's guns and cancel all of Trump's EOs so the borders will be totally open again for drug and underage sex trafficking.

I guess my point is, there's no reason for you guys to hate Trump. He has not done anything to harm you. He has not done anything at all.

Yeah, I always pictured him as a "Berlusconi on a bigger scale" guy. Well, at least he's never had a mobster working for him as a horse groom...

Because a lot of people are a bunch of snowflake pussies who has due to years of being babied by their parents. realised that life isn't about free shit, they aren't special, they have no spine and are all a bunch of whiners and they follow what the news says like sheep. Thus Trump = Bad. Trump can cure cancer and they would still hate him for no real reason. I wish President Trump was my president

I don't hate Trump, or even what he represents necessarily. There is a strong feeling however, buried somewhere that's difficult to disentangle from the reality and from the symbolism.

My biggest concern isn't even strictly political. It's viewing Trump as a successful bundle of memes and how society functions going forward.

Society functions as a level of abstraction that is predicated on things that are not necessarily true, but it is fundamental for the rules of the game that we act as if they are. Trump is representative of a breakdown of that level of "metaphorical truth". Worse, it seems like an honesty that is appealing and on a level, even virtuous.

That said, my hate would be this: if this is how we are going to 'break' the game, this is the most painful way to do so. It doesn't shift power from the personal to the social. It removes reality and objectivity as a "check" move.

The space where the forbidden knowledge presides - that we are all lying and being lied to in a near unbearable totality in order to function together - is no longer sacred.

Tl;dr

Some people says Trump represents a 'post-Truth' era. I'm saying we always privately knew that truth didn't matter, but it was essential we all agreed to act as though we did.

Actually if you pay attention to the thread literally 3 posts after that I pointed out that @Zaru summed it up nicely.

No, I learned quickly the forum is full of trump apologists.
The con man got these suckers good.

People trolling you for saying stupid shit like “I'll never find true happiness until he's either in prison for the remainder of his worthless life or he's gone from this world” doesn’t necessarily make them Trump supporters, it just means they think you’re an idiot.

I really liked this post, I just got done listening to ‘Sapiens’ and the whole thing of us needing to believe in something that isn’t real but we all pretend it is so we can self organize is really interesting. That book really threw me a ‘wtf’ or 2 especially when it started diving into things like human rights not being a thing, it only is one because we say it is. Gave me a bit of a ‘it’s all a house of cards maaaan...’ stoner vibe while driving home from work everyday.

I guess Trump yammering about a desperate need for a wall is just a way to get a large portion of the population to do exactly that. He’s just so fucking terrible at pretttty much all of it. Interesting times ahead.
I really hope he goes to jail though, his dumb face and shit attitude make me dislike Americans and disliking people in general isn’t something I feel comfortable with.

There is a difference in perception and reality.

In the era of the internet the percpetion of a situation is almost never based on facts. We can see it everyday. Two or three people complain about something on Twitter and we have headlines like "Twitter outrage because of...". Whenever someone states an opinion generalizations are used a lot so it sounds like everyone thinks that. Just look at politics. It's a shitshow.

For the future i can only hope people start to take a step back and interprete things without a shitload of prejudices, no matter on what site of the politcal spectrum they are.

Donald Trump is the ultimate threat of liberalism and "the democratic value".Even the tea party or Mike Pence didn't challenge the racial political correctness before.

That's it.Things like foolish looking,louldmouth,insulting women....are not the point.

Dunno where to start, maybe cuz he's childish, hysterical, also sexist and racist, who's not educated to be a politician and behaves like a bull in a china shop? The decisions he's making (or says he's gonna make) put under threat the independence of some governmental establishments and humiliate the country in general.
Oh, and how about the tariff war with China that literally hit his own voters haha. And that his harsh actions destroyed the global economy, the stock market and caused a downtrend in oil pricing.
And that's only some of the reasons.

Tougher then drone strikes which are counted as Obama started wars.
Sure, we all know that drones strikes are a directly connected to peace and we should not forget that Obama dropped ten times more bombs than Bush. So we can safely say that's roughly the equivalent of ten times more peace. That's an awesome achievement.

26.171 bombs just in 2016. I can only imagine how much peace and prosperity these bombe brought to our world.
