I never really understood the love for that show. I have seen maybe 5 episodes. I liked the one with George cooking lobster with eggs, but I never really understood the appeal of all the characters.

They just whine and whine and whine.

I can't stand this show. I don't get the appeal or really find it funny at all. I couldn't ever find the will to sit through a single episode.

No, probably just the way Jerry Seinfeld talks.

Yes, this is part of it. His voice is so whiny. I barely stood the trailer for the bee movie he did, imagine if I had to watch the entire movie. :lol

Did you find their lifestyle choices too immoral?

:lol :lol

This has nothing to do with immoral. I love South Park and watched 2 seasons of Nip Tuck.

Seinfeld is still great, but I think by this point Curb Your Enthusiasm has taken top billing as the best thing Larry David has created.

I thought it was good, but not that great.

Friends > Seinfeld
Even in the decent early seasons, Friends was just a watered-down Seinfeld clone.

And at least Seinfeld had a funny female character instead of two shrill whiners and one so-stupid-it's-funny joke machine. (Though they were they were better looking)

Yet you are on gaf...

I mean, you do like gaf, right? Seems pointless to be here if you don't like whining

Most of the whining is in the gaming section. I mostly read the OT

I'm in the same boat. I've tried to watch Seinfeld many times and just never found it funny...

Is this a serious question? People like Seinfeld because they think it's funny.

Seinfeld is about four people that would never ever be able to function in society, but can and only can because the show says they can. The dialogue that stems from this fact is well-written, and the actors play their sociopathic counterparts perfectly.

It's really nothing without the actors, which is why I can't prove how funny the show is by copy/pasting quotes from IMDb into this thread. It all comes down to you buying into their characters and the facades of lives they've built around themselves.

I love Seinfeld and always thought the show was funny, but I don't think it got really funny until the fourth or fifth season. The introduction of George's parents helped make Costanza an even bigger part of the show. And, as everyone knows, George was the best part of Seinfeld.

Maybe it's the "jew dislike/hate" that interferes with the funny?
I have no other explanation, sorry.

What the fuck is your problem?

There's nothing anyone of us can say to suddenly make you understand why Seinfeld is funny. So stop being an asshole.

???

So? Are we on to something?

Is Bender really that jewish? Maybe it's been a bit since I've watched Futurama, but I don't recall him being particularly jewish.

Seinfield was so great it ruined sitcom television thereafter. I'm sure another great comedy show will come along in our lifetime .. but it's been a pretty long drought so far.

Brilliant response.

Seinfeld is the best TV comedy series besides The Office, in my opinion.
