To clarify on what was said, it was more along the lines of Nintendo tweaked the Wii U to make sure it can run UE4.

which would explain the recent bump in specs... and apparently Nintendo is still tweaking the hardware. So it could get even better.

I've just heard it from a friend that Epic has UE3 & UE4 up and running on Wii U hardware.

His source works for a developer, one that I shall not name, but they do work on pretty much every system. So that alleviates any concerns that I didn't have over the Wii U power issue as far as I'm concerned.
this would be great if true so thanks for sharing

its going to take a while be for we learn the facts :(

This is logical to me. Nintendo wants to be taken seriously again for 3rd party games. When 3rd parties switch over to UE4 not being capable of it would be a disaster. Even if they can only manage 720P with UE4 its better than no support at all

If it's most likely running what ever CryEngine 4 will end up as, would it really need a spec bump though? Unless UE4 is more demanding than a girl on PMS.

Running UE4 doesn't only mean that the Wii U has certain power, but also that a bunch of third party stuff could come for the console now.

Huge news if true.

Could more power mean that the Wii U could support more uPads?

4 uPads for games like MK, Monster Hunter, FPS games etc. would make me explode. This would be my dream feature.

Nintendo is going to buy the Bomberman franchise rights and release their own Saturn Bomberman.

With all the controllers at once, it will be an 800 player game.

they really need to make that multi uPads happen I don't even play NFL games but that would kick so much as Madden would be much better on WiiU regardless though if you consider you are playing online not local play

I don't see why it shouldn't be true. Nintendo isn't so dumb as to cut the Wii U off from all games that will use UE4 during next gen, especially if they have truly learned from their mistakes.

This is sounds to sensible to be true. It makes too much sense for Nintendo to actually make sure the Wii U can run next gen engines.

I call fake.

Man, your avatar goes with every type of post in this thread. Extreme frustration to absolute happiness to unrelenting hopefulness to pure desparation
reflects my mood swings :p

and yours is great too. who wouldn't love a pikachu with a gun?

Nintendo would be stupid not to do it. So much potential brimming with this idea.

Same thing with supporting UE4.

It's so obvious I'm not sure if they're going to do it :/

Nintendo is Odd they don't do things that make sense half of the time... and just when you think they have learned they smack you over the head with a curve ball

it is much easier to believe that the WiiU will be gimped to only run UE3 and cannot run EU4 and looked out of PS4/720 games than it is to believe Nintendo stepped up and upped the specs to stay in the game a few years down the road

they have been really agressive lately that is why Vita is having so much 3rd party support issues in Japan but WiiU is still a mystery

Muilti uPads is the main reason I want WiiU to be specs heavy if it means more uPads can stream on the same console I can see this thing selling like crazy to moms with larger families

also all those iPhone iPad loving kids can relate to the uPad

XD

I think he means Arkam who hasn't shown up for some time.
yeah that is the dude I meant dunno why ideaman came to mind he has been positive on WiiU at least he is hopeful anyway

Yeah, I don't make girl jokes, just this one is kinda funny.
Also, was Dragona the really uptight female mod I heard about?
Dragona would have banned you for that PMS thing you posted a page back I am not going to comment on how uptight she was a few of my bans came from her but I think they were justified when I was posting crap
