this year at the roundtable they should say that they're working on a sequel to sin & punishment and then never release it.

I still get the feeling that they'll talk up social online experiences big time at E3. Expect Facebook integration into your Nintendo Network account if you choose for it to be there. (example: telling your Facebook friends when you're playing an online game so you don't have to be near the console to know you can join them, publishing stories like "Terrell and 3 friends played Dragon Quest X" and give links to details about the game for viral marketing, etc)

I actually think that this is very, very important. Not the spamming Facebook part, but Facebook integration. I imagine when you look at the stats for tablet use, most people use them at home for checking email, Facebook, twitter, and web browsing. Wii U needs to nail that shit as standard. That way tablets aren't an instant winner. Then, after that people will look at the additional features that the Wii U offers and with respect to gaming the Wii U is going to blow the fuck out of the iPad.

If they are smart they will have a system that will do 90% of what the iPad does in the home plus deep gaming experiences, a great controller, social in-the-same room gaming for families, varied gaming like Wii Fit (Apple will never have gaming with peripherals like that) and massive franchises like Mario Kart .

Nintendo have the chance to make a system that makes our genitals explode. I am already wearing cast iron underpants in anticipation of E3.

I would guess that the conference titles would be system exclusives, or something that they have exclusivity on. Everything else would be in a video. Lets hope anyway.

Yes, this all makes sense.

Unfortunately, the OS and app features are the things I'm the least optimistic about. I don't trust nintendo to create an intuitive and UI or online store given their track record. They also seem to have the absolute worst response time when it comes to approving and certifying smaller pieces of software. And in a lot of ways, they keep NoA and NoE on way too short of a leash, I don't see them giving them the amount of control necessary to have the steady stream of app software support. I expect it to be a trickle, like 1 app a month, and often times be things nobody cares about whatsoever.

I really hope they prove me wrong, I really do...

They always leave stuff for the round table.

I'm also pretty sure they will repeat what they did so well in 2006 and have a SSB4 opening trailer announcement for the roundtable.

I remember the feeling checking in on what was likely to be a boring little discussion that night and finding that trailer.

Thx. I am seconds away for losing my job for loling. NSFW tags FTW!

He's mah boy, but some of you guys take this stuff too seriously.

I mean yes some of the media writing off Nintendo before they've announced anything is irritating. But who cares? If you're going to get worked up over anything on the internet make it be on something worthwhile.

Gender inequality around the world, massive wealth disparities between those in the same countries and then the massive gulf with the rest of the world, elections used to placate the masses while having few discernible effects, or the fact that our very economic system is based on fiction. Little slips of paper that have no real meaning other than what we give it. Only worth anything if we think it is.

Videogames are fun time wasters. But there's some real shit to get irritated about out there.

I find human propensity to be dissatisfied amazing. No matter the environment, no matter how sheltered, we will lose our shit over something dammit.

I share your concerns for sure; it worries the hell out of me that they have snail like approval processes and such strict requirements for developers on their platforms. However, I think that the apps I mentioned are the most key (add in Netflix and a couple of others too) so as long as those are there at or around launch I think they will be off to a good start.

They will however need to make a system attractive to developers so that the 'next big thing' can debut or at least be day-one-or-close on Wii U too. Essentially I think it's important to create an ecosystem of apps that can hold its own against iOS. It doesn't need to be a free for all like that with all the shit, but it does need to be open enough so that stuff that's good/popular can get on it fast.

Man, what killed BY2K?

Oh I get worked up about that stuff plenty. I just do it to people in the flesh. This internet was made for defense information, but today it's mostly pornography and comic book continuity debate and archival. The fighting is so fierce because the stakes are so low!

This makes sense to me on a very base level.

You should've just posted "1st world problems" and I'd follow up with "this is a gaming forum" and we'd all be happy.

*takes notes*

Maybe the long running gag of Nintendo induced schizophrenia has sound scientific basis.

*prods udivision with electrode*

Response to outside stimuli is limited.

Nurse Logz?

Prepare the de-Nintendoification machine.

I was just thinking, I'm looking forward to the show as much as anyone but maybe even more exciting to me is that NDAs will be done and we won't have huge lulls in game information after E3.

So what did BY2K do? Was his love of stages the final blow?

Honestly, it was probably like I said. A build up thing. He kept getting on someones nerves and it culminated in a single post that pissed them off completely. I have no illusions that is what happened with mine. Because my last few posts weren't even close to the worst I had posted. Being completely honest. But it was one time too many in a particular mods thread.

It happens. I just hope it wasn't his last.

lol it was intentional i'm sure.
I was actually thinking more blue ball than brown eye.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

I believe he linked to pirated anime in the anime thread. Just that. Short ban, and will be back soon.
