Rad post... Game looks amazing.

I don't think I've ever been more excited for a game.

It's been a while since I played 2, is there a good place to catch up on the story, including nuances that might have been glossed over?

I finished both W1/2 and I don't remember half these characters. I should really replay them, or at the very least the first one.

I will never understand how the full set of novels have not yet been translated into English. Witcher is now a well-known and popular VG series. The target audience is gamers who buy novelizations of the games they play, not the general fantasy readership.

My most wanted game so far... If any game announced at E3 wants to conquer that position it has to make an extraordinary epic impression.

Funny thing about mask guy is that he's probably just random guard or part of a honor guard type deal and no one of great consequence in game.

I think they finally realize this now, considering we've gotten 2 in the last year. Took them way too long though.

Dat spanish covers! So proud of having the hard covers, although the last book is only two volumes in the soft covers, hard covers get it as one, so you loose Triss. But you cant find it without text in the first book with all the rest of the character art.

I saw a long shot of an area that looked similar too. Book spoiler
Ciri is believed to be a big part of the prophecy that brings that ice age.
Ah, thanks. Assumed as much, it does make sense.

How is the Spanish version? Have only read one (bad?) english fan translation.

I really wish they kept a consistent look throughout the series

I agree, but mostly with Triss.

I'm not a fan of Triss's Witcher2/3 look and voice. It's not terrible by any means, but I liked her look and more mature voice in Witcher 1 much more.

Geralt I'm fine with through the iterations, doesn't look significantly different.

Loved my Witcher 1 play-thru, but I don't think I've seen more awkward looking characters in a game lol. Witcher 3 is absolutely stunning.

Edit: Also, whoever is fucking with my boy Dandelion in that trailer is dead.

So are the books good for fans of the series?
I'm also curious. Are they strictly in Spanish or has there been legit translations?

Also, I think the art styles/models are pretty consistent between games. I mean, if at first glance you know who the character is in a brand new trailer, that sounds pretty consistent to me, no?

The last wish.

It's kinda like short story's but linked together of Gothic fairy tales.

It's a great introduction to what a Witcher does.

Agree with this. It's where I started after Witcher 1 game. Great stuff and some insight on how he perceives Sorceresses.

About the books, they are pretty good, start great and the last ones are kind of bad, a lot of filler and boring parts.

Everybody that has enjoyed the game should read at least a couple of them, even from the first one you will get a lot of info about the world and the characters.

I started reading them again yesterday after that hyped injection of a trailer.

Same.

I'm kinda glad I played the game first too. I think I would have found parts difficult to understand.

My better half hasn't played any of the games but loves the books anyway.
