Looks really clunky when swinging the sword and there's a weird animation stall for a few frames after the teleport dash. It's like her head is tracking without her body following.
Sword swings look totally fine to me. I also dont see any stalling when she does the teleport. The weird thing about the teleport is that shes facing the opposite direction if you teleport away. Though it could be that the teleport is suppose to be used for mobility, not dodging the way they guy is using it.

General
  • To unlock second line/tier of skills you need to spend 8 points in that tree, 20 for third line, 30 for fourth.
  • Mutagens synergies with 3 skills equiped next to it, of same color (green with green, red with red), multiplying effect of that mutagen.
  • There are 70 skills, and only 12 slots for skills. So choose wisely, which skills you want to have equipped.
  • You can reset your abilities, at any time, with elixir which you need to buy.
  • Skill and mutagen slots are unlocked while getting character levels (it's progressive)
  • Skilltree looks like this
  • Skill menu looks like this
We get skillpoints from 3 sources
  • From Leveling up Geralt (one per level)
  • From visiting Shrines/Places of power (which gives you long buff like in previous games, and give one skill point on first usage of individual shrine)

Builds
  • Game is designed/balanced in that way that specialized builds will be useful (e.g. 100% alchemist, won't be worse than 100% swordsman)
  • There is room for hybrids based on 2 or even 3 skill trees
  • There is special potion which will allow you to respec your spend skill points. So don't worry about "wrong invested" skills
Equipment
  • Light armor (Cat): is a best pick for skilled swordsman. It does bring lowest armor boost from all armor types, but brings increased damage and cricital damage for fast attacks. Best armor type for person who loves to be quick and deadly sword fighter.
  • Medium armor (Gryphin): is useful for person which uses/specializes in signs. It boosts your vigor regeneration and signs intensivity.
  • Heavy Armor (Bear): gives the most protection, gives damage boost for your strong/heavy attacks and gives you additional HP. Good choice for Alchemists who have good healing capabilities and doesn't have much critical chance, also it will be usefull for swordsmans who choose Strong Atttack skill line. At example Bear Armor is heavy armor.
Alchemy
  • Potions only need to be created one time. After using them in combat you can automatically refill them if you have base alcohol in your equipment.
  • At base potion duration is very short (30-60 seconds, depends on the potion). You can make potion effects longer, while investing in and equipping alchemy skills.
  • You need to create new bombs every time you use them. There's no refilling mechanics for boms, in other hand they are easier to create than potions for the first time.
  • There is second type of potions called Decoction. They are created from mutagens, and cannot be refilled. They last very long (1800 seconds) and have game changing buffs.
  • You can make alcohol from base ingredients.
  • You can upgrade potions for better affects.

Could be that. It kinda reminds of of Infamous 1/2 where you would change direction quickly and the head would go a different direction than the legs and it ends up looking weird.

Only nitpicking. As long as it feels smooth when you're controlling her.

you should probably spoiler tag that.
It's translation for data available in videos that are in Polish and OP states spoilers will be had if jumping in here. I mean if it's big deal I will reformat whole post so it can be tagged, apparently spoiler tagging doesn't work to lists.

Edit: I just to know general opinion/view/something, is that skilltree post too spoilery to be untagged?

Armour type affects crit chance? That's super smart. I might actually keep to light armour for once, not something I tend to do in most games.

You know, this will probably look really good on consoles, but for me, a locked 30fps is more important. Hope the DF article will be up before release.

Edit: If the performance is as good as in Dragon Age:Inquisition on PS4, I'll be a happy Witcher.

Obviously I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't see how skill trees are even remotely spoiler material. Like, if that's a spoiler, so are so many other things that people bothered by them should probably recuse themselves from continued pre-release discussions entirely.

Ah, yeah, the head-tracking is a little weird.

It's easily ignored, I just scrolled past it without spoiling anything for myself.

PCs have definitely come a long way. I just have a hard time keeping up with them. Glad it's gotten easier with time, but it still seems cumbersome. Everyone has their preference. Not taking shots.

I recently got a dedicated PC tower. I7 3770, 16 gb, gtx 960. I got this solely for CSGO. I just like that I can load up my game on xbox and not have to think about updating drivers, tweaking settings and the like. Like I said, I just prefer the simplicity even if I have to take a hit in resolution or framerate. That's always been my knock against PCs. There is an infinite combination out there and the game can't be optimized for all of them like they are for consoles.
i7 and 16GB of ram for CSGO? Are you insane? Or are you just lying?

Also, just about every single new game starts with some good preset for your rig and you very seldom have to update drivers which is super easy. Literally right toolbar icon -> check for updates -> click install -> click next a few times -> ignore the "please restart your computer" -> play.

Btw, you do realize your PC eats away either console by a far far margin, right?

The armour even have hammering marks from their production. God damn.
Wow, that's really impressive detail. Can't think of another game that's done anything like that for armor.

Here's a good screen showing it off:
You can see that they even model the underside of the armour, letting you see through the holes. The only unfortunate thing is that the archer's hand is clipping through his pouch.

I don't care, personally.
Just know that people can be mad touchy about that stuff lol

It was a refurb for about $800 so I jumped on it. Just recently updated the card because I wanted the newer architecture. its probably over kill but at least im set for the next couple of years. unless I get that steam portable thing, my PC will never be in the living room.

Inquisition had armors with hammer detail and other smithing details like various splitting marks in the metal. It's a nice change from more polished armors so I'm glad W3 has a lot of details like that.

Been part of Witcher games since first.
Easily a worse, more useless, and more intrusive version than W2's. Plus, it's even worse with how many good examples of minimizing the intrusion of the HUD there are now in games. There's a reason there have been a lot of people in this thread with negative responses to that HUD.

Come on, Geralt. Tracking Ciri should be easy, just follow the legions of wolf corpses through the woods.

Huh, that's not how I imagined her to sound in my head when reading the books.
Remember that she was nobility first, it makes sense that she'd sound a bit posh even after all she's been through.

I'm gonna hold off on watching that Ciri gameplay. I've already seen more than I would like to have seen. I'm not going to make the same mistake I made last gen and see so much of a game before release that some of the 'surprise' is taken away when I play it for myself.

If you're going to claim that something is an XB1 screenshot of screenshots already released, at least have the decency to crush the blacks.

And that IGN was pretty poor.

And Yennifer... mhmm.

Ciri gameplay was underwhelming. They probably should have kept it under wraps, because now I'm less enthusiastic about playing as her.
Basically they showed her fighting a group of wolves.... 3 times. All in the same setting. Instead of rolling and dodging around, she teleports around instead (kinda like the wraith power in Shadow of Mordor). Beyond that.... it looks like the exact same swordplay, albeit even more floaty looking. She didn't use signs in the video either.

Meh.

I mean, that's the first two minutes you get to play as her. It's essentially a tutorial of her abilities.

She has her own skill trees and such, so I'm sure it'll become more complex later.

Had to post few shots of Yen from that scene in Gopher's 3rd video. Going through that scene few times with VLC there nice details on few, small smirks and such.
Also these shots don't have hairworks on! Can't wait to see how much that adds to her looks.

Not saying she won't have more exciting gameplay later on.... just that the footage selection there was a poor choice.

Well,
she's not a witcher. She can't use any signs.
She'll probably have her own abilities which they didn't want to spoil.

She doesn't have her own skill tree; depending on the scene, she will have different abilities. Well, that's what I read at least.

Lots of contradictory info:

Gameinformer:
"She's not meant to be a witcher," Monnier says. "She was meant to be a sorceress. You will be able to unlock new abilities, but her skill tree will not be to the extent of Geralt's. She is weaker in terms of constitution, but she can destroy so many enemies at once."

PC Gamer:
"Passages with Ciri are like a linear action-adventure, not like a RPG, plays differently and more action-fueled than Geralt's passages (no inventory, no skill tree, depending on the scene Ciri has certain skills)."

Both from March 2015. My bet is that both are correct and Ciri will have a skill tree, but the player won't have control over how it develops.

I don't think those contradict. The first comment could easily mean she has a preset skill tree and with each segment you play as her, you get new abilities unlocked for you. So you likely can see the skills you have, you just don't pick the skills and are simply tasked with completing her objectives.

The bolded part refers to her backstory, nothing else.
