Witcher III: Blood and Wine - May 10 Preview Info

The new patch will be 1.20.

It also looks life they've redesigned every part of the UI (like the map), not just the ones we've seen with the character screen.

The new way books will be handled. You can read them immediately, and then they go into the glossary.

Gonna make some time to watch these and more when I get home today, oh yes.

May just stick to the non-English ones to avoid story stuff too.

I was going to play Hearts of Stone before Blood & Wine dropped but I am really think of holding off with all the new UI changes and stuff coming with the new DLC.

I've been thinking about that too. Any benefits to playing HoS first? Are they totally unrelated?

Are we gonna get patch before May 31 or on that day?

I assume the UI stuff comes in the patch rather than the DLC itself regardless of the release day.

Will the new update add markers to where Gwent cards can be found? This was promised eons ago...

Yes, the patch will be out before the EXP and it should include the Gwent card finder, unless the plans have changed.

Here's the mutagen menu, Exentryk:

Here's the Grandmaster Cat gear with the hood.

All the other Grandmaster sets (remember that you can dye them different colours): I didn't image them in case they're considered spoilers.

Which one is the last armor on the right?

Omg no! What have they done to my beloved cat gear?

It's a trivial thing but so far this is my only disappointment so far. Mastercrafted cat gear looks fantastic, but this is one hell of a downgrade. All others (except for Griffin, of course) look better. I hate it when I want to use some gear for stat reasons and different gear for aesthetic reasons. This bear armor looks really badass but putting heavy armor on Geralt is like putting mayonnaise on chocolate.

You could still play using the Mastercrafted armours. I think you still get the new set bonus regardless. All the Grandmaster armours are level 40. No Viper Grandmaster, as that one is already level 39.

Is the grandmaster wolf armor the armor from Witcher 1?

I mean I like the simplicity of it in Witcher 1, but it'd be ridiculous to have this badass looking armor in the master set and then it loses all of the shit to go to a white shirt with a vest on top.

Edit: just realized it might be the second one too. Don't like the bulkiness of it I like the look of the master version because it makes Geralt look like he's wearing a badass leather jacket.

I'll transform both my wolf and bear armor into grandmaster but I'll have to see how they look with dyes before I decide to use one the majority of the time.

As of right now I'm likely gonna go with bear.

Hopefully the materials to make them aren't these pain in the ass ones and I can just kill some monsters in the quests themselves to obtain the materials.

No. It's in the image I posted above.

Grandmaster Wolf is similar to Mastercrafted Wolf. The Witcher 1 armour is called Manticore, and is only available in Grandmaster level.

You can also preview a dye, before you use it. Thank the Pope they put this option in! The dyes also only work on Witcher gear.

Like the look of Manticore. I don't like Geralt to look too encumbered. Cat was my go to in base game and HoS, but this is a little on the ugly side...

The UI changes are great! Thanks for posting.

I want to see more of the new grass but I don't want to watch the opening.

Damnit, they seem to have added too much stuff to the GM Ursine Armor... Guess i'll need to find another armor for GM level...

Damn, I've lost my save, all the choices lost :(

I guess it will have like a default starting save or something right? Will past choices have any influence on the Blood and Wine? Damn had a lot of money and armor and stuff. Damn ;(

They offered a preset save for HoS so I would assume they did the same with this. Impossible to say if base game decisions will impact anything although I'm guessing there will be small nods here and there like HoS had, like the conversation with the Countess being different depending on whether a certain main story event had happened.

If you're playing on PC, you could always enable the developer console and cheat to get your level, gear and coin back.

Any info on possible combat/difficulty rebalance? I've read some rumors a while ago (I think it was posted on wcc) that listed them, along with many other rumored features that ended up being true once the B&W trailer was released.
