This game is due out this year, so everyone has time to anticipate it.

shit! From the CG it looked like a game from 1994 or something! :O
Yeah, that's what I thought too.

I still think Toshinden 2 was a bit more embarassing, but I'd put Metal Combat above simply due to the time frame of its release. Of course, this is sad in an entirely different way. That is some awful "CG"...

Gaiaseed on the PS1

it's absolutely hilarious and has sub C64 style graphics.

ah, maybe not

That's what I thought then I went to IGN to get some screens and it said "TBA 2006". Its this companies first game.

For such a good game, Symphony of the Night's CG intro was a complete POS.

The organ chords that hit when "Castlevania" fades in are pretty great, though.

Technically, yeah, it's ugly as hell and very poorly compressed...BUT it isn't that bad simply due to the music and the fact that nothing particularly embarassing occurs during it. There are many other intros that sit far below it.

OMG...I've seen this clip sometime last year thinking it was an older game from the mid 90's.
:lol that was terrible.
In fairness, it actually is originally from the early 90s.

Oh god, I couldn't even finish the Metal Combat intro. That was horrible beyond belief.

Haha. Well done, guy who linked the Metal Combat intro. Scrappy is happy.

Also awesome.

Thanks, I guess. :lol

I guess I'm the world's only Metal Combat viral marketer. :)

I can't believe they have it priced at 60 bucs!

Give me a break... if you think the intro is good, you have some low standards. While the music was nice, and it didn't do anything particularly wrong (as stated earlier), it's still very ugly compared to the game itself. Sure, it doesn't affect gameplay, but as one of the first things you see, I sure was worried prior to the game starting. Now, if I'd said that SOTN *the game* was a POS, then by all mean, I'd deserve to be stung a million times over. :)

I have to agree FFX-2 intro was shockingly bad. I never thought there was anything that would make me put my controller down and walk away from a Final Fantasy for days. FFX-2's intro proved me wrong.

A couple weeks ago, my friend and I were going through some old PS1 games. We popped in Warhawk, and were on the floor laughing at the wacky live-action greenscreen intro. The acting was horrifically bad, but was entertaining for that reason. Guess it would qualify in the "so bad, it's good" category, but there's gotta be a myriad of horrible intros out there.

Anyway, go for it...

I am throwing you all curve balls.

Worst Game Intro\Opening Sequence: Operation Flashpoint: Resistance (Seriously, how long does it take to show the Russians are going to invade the island? You shouldn't have to drive a car to work, then waiting for 10 minutes for a bus at the bus stop, etc. etc. It literally takes 30-45 minutes of nothing to get through the opening sequence before the credits roll. So damn annoying.)

Best Game Intro\Opening Sequence: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (screw you guys, I like the opening sequence of events Indy goes through) tied with C&C: Red Alert (scientist goes back in time, kills of Hilter, comes back, and then the kick-ass Hell March\random destruction ensues ftw!)

You obviously aren't Xtreme enough.

:lol Well I'd like to watch that Space Pirates intro but I just finished the Metal Combat intro and I don't think I can take any more.

Yeah, Metal Combat takes a lot out of you.

I'm going to try and watch Space Pirates tomorrow.

super smash brothers melee

fills me with disgust as i realize that gaf nintards have jerked it to this saturday morning mascot crapola

Not exactly "bad", but I've been playing Shadow the Colossus lately and the intro is too long-winded imo. Yeah its "epic", art!!!, etc etc but does anyone watch it more than once?

And I'm not the type who usually skips videogames intros everytime I play...

*runs away*

When I did own the game once upon a time in a dark, twisted fairy tale, I used to like freaking people out with the intro. I made several of my friends truly hate me.

Looking at those shots, I don't NEED to download anything :lol

oh if you're referring to juiced you can't begin to understand the greatness of the intro from screenshots alone. For starters, you'll miss the gorgeous music ("Tits up clutch down pedal to the floooooor!") and then the awesome video editing, and..oh well, it's not a huge file, come on :)
