And I'm only on Neogaf. Had any one else seen this error. My phone buzzes and I get a warning.

You're not alone. I've been getting them as well. If I'm lucky I can pull up my tabs and swipe it away, but in two instances I have not been able to do so. I would have had to click okay or yes or whatever and I wasn't gonna do that.

Had to uninstall my chrome updates and reinstall. Tried just clearing cache but that didn't work.

This is just an ad, there is a thread to report thiese kind. There is nothing wrong with your phone, it can identify some information using the browser User Agent. Just don't click on it or install the app it Will probably redirect you to

No. I've installed Rsbrowser which blocks that ad. Unfortunately it blocks all ads. Is there a way I can give gaf a few dollars to compensate?

Yup, get this kind of shit on gaf every so often. Usually close out the browser. Go into airplane mode and shut it down. Happens a lot and then not at all for a while.

same here on my galaxy a5 (2016) running 6.0.1.

except it's not just when visiting neogaf. phones can't get infected or anything can they? if it keeps happening i might need to try a clean install.

I don't know if the phone itself can but it seems at least your browser can. I've been getting this for a while actually and wondering what the hell it is. I've been wiping chrome every time it happens since it doesn't seem like the ad should have access to activate the vibrate. I don't trust it one bit.

Same and 6p here too as well. Thank God im not the only one I thought it was all the p*** I download lol guess I'm safe

pdfs
I got it some months ago both on pc and phone and nearly shat myself wondering wtf

Quick Google search shows it is a scam just like the call we got from "Microsoft" saying our windows license was about to expire and to call such and such number.
I have quite the number of PDFs myself.

Haven't gotten them in a while but I used to get them constantly.

Is it the one that automatically redirects you to a page with the url being something crazy like yvbnljaöpledafjaogfhjasighknymync.com? Cause that's what I got.

Yeah the mobile site has become a "Only when absolutely desperate to use neogaf while not on PC" type of thing. It's just so awful. The page full of threads or posts loads up right away but everything practically freezes up while it loads 2 giant ads and tries to redirect you and open popups. Reddit is just a better choice when mobile is the only option.

Just got one myself this very second. My phone buzzes but bizarrely no ad pops up. But if I try to go back or go to a new page something pops up to ask if I really want to leave.

I wasn't sure what was causing it so I just shut down the browser as I didn't want to click on anything. At least I know it's not just me.

This thread got me curious so I started browsing on my phone. I see banner ads and all, but I haven't seen anything like... taking over my browser and causing my phone to vibrate.

I guess I should be happy, but in still curious, lol...

Oh! No -false alarm. Just an email from Double Fine about their forums.
Sometimes it happened in the middle of me typing a post and i lost it.
Oh God, that would drive me up the friggen' wall!

edit: oh! I guess I should note my phone as well. It's a Blackberry Passport and I was using the stock browser. I guess I should try using Palemoon and see if it does it in there.

Yeah, it showed up every 5 pages for me and made the site practically useless. Takes up the whole screen too. Sometimes it happened in the middle of me typing a post and i lost it.

Using safari on iPhone and I've seen 0 pop ups on GAF. Though I do enjoy the calls from Microsoft support saying my PC is sending error messages.
i don't own a PC, only a MacBook Pro.
I usually try to keep them on the line for a long time and then tell them I'm with the FBI and that I'm tracing the call. This is when they either curse me out or just hang up.

I get this too. Right pain, more or less brings my GAF browsing to a screeching halt because if it happens once, it'll happen on every page.

count me in with the issues too. I get a Verizon thing that doesn't want to let me leave the page. sometimes it doesn't even pop up but vibrates my phone and when I click a thread it asks me if I want to leave current page. what a mess.

As of a month ago, any up-to-date Android device I browse neogaf on gets the scareware vibrating ads about potential battery damage or spyware applications. This is from clean factory installs (I just upgraded).

Yep, I had one yesterday. My phone only vibrated, so I assume it was related to some AT&T rewards advertisement. No pop-ups showed up for me.

'XX pop-ups blocked' messages, random phone vibration and page redirections.

I used to browse GAF on my phone whilst in the bathroom. Now I poop alone.

I had to install adblock on my phone yesterday because that stupid vibrating pop-up appeared every time I opened a new thread.
