This seems like a fake "leak." The content seems real but it seems like it was controlled. Either way this is the first time I have ever wanted an Xbox One.

Fall 2014, probably September.

Super sexy weather system and... shit tons of co-op/social stuff. 1080P and open-world, so you can road trip with your bros.
This sounds soooooooo great. I hope it isn't riddled with micro transactions.

Halo 5 not coming out this year doesn't surprise me in the slightest. 2 years isn't long enough for a studio to make a great game when it's their first project on next gen, especially for a franchise that comes with such high expectations.

Deadevil you might want to see a specialist bro.
Lol. You might be right. But how many people bought that thing on the strength of the 'Day One' wording. I my friend was not alone.

I agree. Plus they get to add a year's worth of stuff the Corrine and hubby haven't leaked to Naughty Dog and Sony yet. lol

They could just have the voice commands done with the headset instead of the Kinect. That SKU could be cheaper. Maybe?
true, but i dont think people who are primarily interested in tv and media consumption would want to have a headset on all the time to be able to pause their movies or change the channel. i could be mistaken. but the kinect-less SKU doesnt make any sense to me. im guessing microsoft thinks similarly.

anyway, lots of cool info in this thread. youve got people on here trying to downplay a lot of this stuff, sure, but honestly, halo 2, and new forza horizon and crackdown have me pumped. bring them on i say

it is the truth. lol
Nope. The Last Of Us, Driveclub and Knack beg to differ.
Oh then there's games like God for War and Gran Turismo.

These are 1st party. Sony has plenty of variety with their franchises and. One of these I mentioned are money hatted.

Saying Sony just puts out Killzone, Uncharted and inFamous is flat out laughable. Those aren't even their biggest franchises.

There's strategy here, in that come E3 when hype is built there won't be much hype to be shown, where Nintendo and Sony will win by default.
That depends on how dire the PR situation has been for Microsoft. I can't see them sitting on this much great news solely for E3 with the tremendously negative sentiment has dominated their coverage. In fact, I would expect them to hold this news back until the release rush/buzz died down and then release it to spur more sales once demand fell through. Which is precisely what has just happened. If anything the timing of this (along with their other known calculated PR moves) seems suspect. But, like I said, as long as it all is indeed #truthfact it doesn't really matter if it was a managed or spontaneous leak.

DD wouldn't make up for the price difference given the enemies they'd make and how few people are willing to accept this as the standard just yet.
I think you'd be surprised how many people would be open to a digital only system. Look at the Vita. Digital sales DOMINATE that platform. Steam has also shown people will accept a digital platform for the convenience that it provides them. I also wouldnt underestimate the massive profit margin increase that digital sales would give Microsoft. MS can cut out distribution and retailer cuts and instead put that money back into their own pocket. Those costs add up fast. They may seem like a small percentage (usually about 10-12% combined on average) but when that is more money in MSs pockets and is guaranteed for the life of the console that seems like an incredibly easy choice to make. That's precisely why they were pushing an all digital future to begin with.

Dat white console. I will offer up my first born if needed.
Even if

white = no disc drive
black = blu-ray

Curious to see how small they can make the console without a disc drive, but they'd have to work pretty hard to convince me that digital is as good of a value as disc-based purchases. The original proposal of being able to buy discs anywhere from a competitive marketplace and convert those into your digital library was a lot more appealing than the current digital store.

Halo 2 Anniversary with online would fix 1's biggest mistake in not including online for that. So that's a good news thing if true. But honestly, that isn't enough to make me buy the system. I'd rather that leaked SteamDB port of Halo 1-3 come to Steam with possible Steamworks and online play than pay for MS's new console AND online fees to play Halo 2 online again when GfWL shuts down the Halo 2 Vista port. :/

I've never heard anyone refer to Crackdown, Dead Rising, or Saints Row as shooters. The debut trailer showed off the platforming gameplay more than anything. If you want to call these games all "shooters" that's a pretty wide definition for the genre as these games are pretty different gameplay wise from things like Halo/CoD/Titanfall.
You're making a lot of assumptions. Ted Price himself called it a shooter

"Speaking at Microsoft's E3 press conference in LA, Insomniac director Ted Price described Sunset Overdrive as an open-world stylised shooter. "

It's already a very robust system. Switching from Live TV to game to Twitch to Netflix it's just instant and so good. There are a number of things they need to fix and will in short order I have no doubt. There are number of improvements they will implement over time.

The only question is software and if this leak is anything to go by it is going to be a solid year in that department. Four exclusives for fall from MS with two new IP is about as rare as it gets. I hope they can maintain this throughout the generation. That is the real question and in my mind save Rrod the only place they failed last gen.
Well, I have had a lot of time to watch the launch dust settle and it's the only system I am sold on at the moment. It already has more exclusives and features that appeal to me. These leaks are just gravy and I know it's only going to get better going forward.

Makes me wonder if the no disc drive sku will be smaller than the blu-ray version.

Hell yes, I am totally on board for Halo 2 HD. I hope the devs feel free to overhaul the campaign because it is in need of some serious love where the Flood are involved. That said, the best levels are great as they are so don't go nuts.

I suppose it's too much to ask for a Halo 3-style Scarab fight...?
Saber Studios if you are listening do not listen to a goddamn thing this man has said. You leave Halo 2 alone dammit!

Do you really think they could just throw in a Halo 3 style scarab battle in the game? That would change it and defeat the point.

A fresh coat of paint, and full multiplayer are all that is required.

You'll get your scarab battles in Halo 5 or Halo 3 anniversary.

People at MS are probably furious that so many leaks just happened. I mean new Xbox One color with double the hdd space, confirmed big name games for the next two years, completely spoiled the Halo surprise lol.

No they dont. Numbers recently came out that Physical is still leading, and those are 1-4GB games, not 30-50.

edit- not to mention you didn't consider what I said about enemies. Gamestop and Best Buy would immediately push the PS4 as the system to go with.
