Ms is great for the industry. Great systems, games and dirt cheap GP promos where gamers get day one games and recent third party games. I’m happy to let MS foot the bill.

For example why pay $90 cdn for MLB The Show when MS covers it on GP? If someone wants to buy it go ahead. But it’s on optional GP sub plan too.

Because on GamePass you keep paying for games, it's recurring and you end up paying way more in the long run and for games you won't ever even play.

I'd rather just pay money once for the games I am interested in. Now if you already spend like $300 a month on all the newest games without waiting on sales, it may be for you.

by my math I'd have to avoid purchasing to two three games a year that are available on Gamepass in order for it to break even on the value. It's meeting that number. Everything else in terms of additional games to check out on GP puts the value in the black. Gamepass may be bad for publishers but it's great for customers.

For certain customers, sure. Not for all. I don't want to be paying for a huge catalog of games I have no interest in and can wait for games to age and become cheaper.

Then I don't have to buy the game after renting it on a subscription if I want to keep it.

I am confused how this is xbox's fault? Both consoles have digital only options. Its the publishers who dont let us own anything
One could say with the bew leaked console they are more forward in going digital especially for their more expensive console while atleast for sony for their future digital one have an optional disc drive attachment giving power to the consumer of choice

Fair enough, it's definitely a personal decision for everyone based on your circumstances.

It isn't Microsofts fault. People just do not want to accept the reality of an all digital future.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth requires 2 blu ray discs to be played from start to finish. This is a huge issue, as far as I am concerned there is no new physical media type of discs that can hold larger space. PS6 and Next ' Xbox will be digital only with no physical disc drive attached due to multiple reasons:

1 - Uncesseary cost to include a disc drive
2 - Games are way too large for a BluRay
3 - Publishers don't want to spend money anymore to produce plastic boxes/cases and discs
4 - Over half of the sales (if not more) are now all digital for games.

If there is going to be a new type of physical medics disc drive then it will drive up the costs again on these new machines. It would be better not to have it so they can use the money on getting better hardware instead. This is inevitable.

I want your job. How much do you get paid?

If you think Microsoft is the only company pushing for a digital future....Yeah.

Ssshhh you can’t point out that other companies and publishers do the exact same shit people claim MS is killing the industry by doing, otherwise you’re deflecting or something.

Anyway, did the linked video start at like 80% of the way through for anyone else or just me?

Warning this forum is full of creatures, so don't pay any attention to those who can't accept different view than theirs.

Its funny to see people going nuts on digital while 99% of their library is digital.

The same when they complain about their privacy with denuvo, when half the corporate planet knows even the color of their underwear.

My tears. Exclusive to gamepass. Forever.
People who us logic understands what MS is up too. This is old news.

When Xbone released with DRM and caused an upror like never seen before, people thought MS ”learned” from their mistake with Series. 🤣🤣

Bruv their dream of total controll never disappeared it just comes with a different packaging. Gamers are so easly fooled.

This tag i got was because of calling out GP for what it is, bait and switch.

Not true at all. I paid for 6 years of gold. And did the GP top up promo twice. The first 3 year stint I paid $1 extra for GP and the my current 3 year stint I paid for one month GP. So for about $20 extra I boosted 6 years of Gold to 6 years of GP.

Why pay regular price when everyone could do the top up deal. Even right now it’s still going on but they reduced the top up to I think 2/3 of the promo. Still a great deal. MS has been promoting it for 5 years. Hard to miss.

For that price even if you barely use it, it's good. That loophole is gone now though. For full price GP and Premium Plus, not with it IMO.

It’s weird to be so anti-Microsoft about stuff like this when historically, they’ve been incredible when it comes to making their new consoles backwards compatible with old games. Sony and Nintendo, for sure aren’t as accommodating when it comes to backwards compatibility.

Anyone thinking Sony is on a different path is delusional. The trajectory of a no-disc / disc version -> no-disc standard -> no-disc only is pretty clear. By the time PS6 launches there won't be a disc version.
