2 has been on sale multiple times.

1 wasn't even on sale during the backwards-compatibility sale when most of the back-comp games were as well as other 360 Soul Calibur games.

Divinity: Original Sin is a fucking steal at $13.20. The combat system is brilliant and playing with a controller works surprisingly well. I know the sequel is out on PC in a few days but for anyone who has not played the first or is just looking for a fantastic RPG at a great price you really should not pass it up.

If the sale thread doesn't stay on the front page, then it didn't happen. At least that's my theory as to why people still think XBL doesn't do regular sales. PS4 is so dominant (especially here) that their sale threads stay on the front page for days. Nothing nefarious, just a matter of popularity and people who rely on GAF for news making observations during their occasional visits.

Which game is easier for a newbie to jump in and play: X-Com 2 or X-Com Enemy Within ...?

I bought the first game with its included DLC back during a backward compatibility sale, but didn't put much time into it. ...In watching YouTube videos, I've always thought X-Com looked like a fun series, so I'm wondering if the mechanics and production values of X-Com 2 make it a better fit to start with. (With either title, playing on low difficulty to start seems like a smart move.)

EA is the only major publisher that slashes prices quite heavily lately. Picked up Mirrors Edge not long ago at $5 and seeing last year' FIFA down to $10 is quite new. Wish publishers like Ubisoft and Activision took notice. Assassins Syndicate hasn't been lower than $16 and thats like 2 years old already.
