Xbox One Backwards Compatible lOT2l: Who would want to play these games?

I have a little bit odd question, but maybe someone can answer me. It's hard to find a copy of Razor's Edge in the place where I live, it's not available digital in my region and ebay prices got over the top. I have found few cheap copies of vanilla Ninja Gaiden 3 around and can anyone tell whether it will work on XOne or not?
Vanilla wont work.

I was talking video games with a friend and we end up talking about X-Men Legends & X-Men Legends 2 on OG Xbox. What fond memories ! Now I wish they'll find their way into back compat somehow.

Today's a sad day.
For those of us wanting more OG Xbox games, anyway.

With no new BC announcements at E3, none at all for 13 months, and a report from an insider (EvilBoris) that no games are being worked on, I think everyone has to agree that MS has ended their Xbox One backwards compatibility efforts for Original Xbox games.
33 games out of 1047 was all we got for Xbox One. It was a fantastic program. Enhanced Original Xbox games looked great, played great, and were from an era where games were generally more about fun than telling a "cinematic story". Black, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Ninja Gaiden, and Crimson Skies were the standouts. Great games made even better through the enhancement program. But so many games were left behind that could have been legendary. Gunvalkyrie, Brute Force, Jet Set Radio Future (yeah, music, I know), and many others were just on the cusp of greatness, held back only by CRT requirements of the day or memory limitations. Many of those games can easily embarrass today's AAA games when it comes to entertainment value.
Microsoft's announcement that their next gen system will include 100% backwards compatibility for all previous generations suggets that they will be using platforum emulation, thus negating the need for re-upping licenses. This is a good thing if you just want to play the games as the original machines ran them, but Xbox One made those old games better. Much better.

I'm guessing the flow of X360 games will continue for about another year, although perhaps at a reduced frequency (and probably not prime titles).
I get nothing out of those, though. I have an Xbox One S. It doesn't enhance 360 games. Same resolution, same framerates (a few exceptions) and sometimes they actually perform worse on the X1S. My actual Xbox 360 is a very late model and still runs great. So Original Xbox games were really all I cared about.

You're right.

That was a great E3 conference overall, but it seemed to passively and silently, announce the death of the back compat program. Where's my PGR and Mech Assault Microsoft? Where are my new 4k enhanced X360 titles? :messenger_confused:

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Also feeling a bit disappointed we didn't see more about BC. I would have even liked to see them mention BC in the Scarlett reveal video.

Literally bought my Xbox One for this program. lol. Mainly for Lost Odessey and Blue Dragon. Still hoping MagnaCarta 2 gets on here sometime. Its not a bad game.

Yeah damn bittersweet update being the last one. Still many good games that didn't get in. I hope they will continue in some way with Scarlett.
