Sony never does crossgen games. They like to show what the new tech is capable of
They never cross-gen because each gen was a different architecture, that's not the case this time. Don't really care one way or the other.

While this is true, we know there will be launch window games that won't be crossgenThey never cross-gen because each gen was a different architecture, that's not the case this time. Don't really care one way or the other.
Sony never does crossgen games. They like to show what the new tech is capable of but if they did they'll still have games that are exclusive to the PS5 too
I know Sony has never done crossgen games on launching a new console. Its one of the things that pissed me off when PS3 came out. But maybe some of the reasons are to do with the different architectures of the system they had at the time. With PS4 and 5 it will so much easier for Sony to produce crossgen games and it make more sense for them to do it. They have over 100 million users they want to transfer over to the new system. Seems easier to me that they keep them on-board with as many Sony exclusive as they can giving users time to pick the moment for them to move to PS5 (Maybe the first price drop etc.)Sony never does crossgen games. Yep which is why most likely they will have backwards compat so they can move their ps4 library to the ps5, their whole agenda is to sell new hardware and quickYour logic is flawed.
The goal is to move as many PS4 cutomers to PS5 asap.
What kind of insane logic are you using that you would discount simply forcing people to buy the new console to play the next Sony first party game?
That's what 1st party games are there FOR. They are there to push hardware, or they have no reason to exist.
Wait for e3.We heard this the entire last generation. Hell, even at the later years of 360. "The game will come.... the games will come....".
As an early Xbox One adopter, I'm tired of promises. Show me the games. And not E3 trailers for games that get canceled or come out and are so bad that they should have been canceled.
But even though they are trying to sell more hardware which will then lead to more software sales, sony with the ps4 , ps4 slim and pro outsold MS considerably and also sold wayyyyyy more software than all the xbox family consoles combinedPeople just don't get it as Microsoft is simply not thinking its consoles like other manufacturers use to do.
They want to offer a platform that has all Xbox games. This platform is PC or an Xbox console. They don't care about selling a ton of Series X, as long as the overall number of people playing on Xbox is good for them.
They have been building a strategy where all games work on all Xbox, this is obviously not to force people into buying the next console if they are already satisfied with the current one. Manufacturers don't make much money from selling hardware (except Nintendo with their cheap consoles lol), so sending tenths of millions of them in the world does not change the result that much, if people can buy all the new games on previous hardware. And this is actually better for the planet by the way.
One X is already quite good for people with a 1080p TV, I am not sure that Series X can offer much more for these people. The reasons to upgrade won't be the games (at least not for a few years) but what Series X can offer to these people on the hardware side (shorter load times, locked 4K, better framerate etc...). Just as you would upgrade a PC. Not upgrading your PC does not prevent you from buying games.
Hum okay ? How important is this ? Does this prevent Microsoft from having a healthy business with Xbox ? How does this compare to the money made through gamepass and other services ?But even though they are trying to sell more hardware which will then lead to more software sales, sony with the ps4 , ps4 slim and pro outsold MS considerably and also sold wayyyyyy more software than all the xbox family consoles combined
More software and money leads to even more software and money or the best grass roots expansion where studios can expand, get more staff, get more teams and hence make more games and products for the consumer ala naughy dog and how they branched out, insomniac games, sony bend etcHum okay ? I think making games crossgen would have the adverse effect. If you continue putting your games on the PS4, that gives the userbase less reasons to upgradeI know Sony has never done crossgen games on launching a new console. The Last of Us wasn't crossgen as in buy the game on PS3 and be able to play it on PS4, it was remastered for the PS4Last of Us Remastered. Their most successful game launch in the earlier part of the gen as well.
They do it. They all do it to an extent. Hell im hoping current version of Gran Turismo Sport gets a conversion of some kind and built from there.
HOWEVER. Microsoft seems to be promising One X-like bc support and/or enhancements.
Its about damn time.
Sony tremendous success does not look like it is such a great thing for creativity and variety of first party games. Naughty Dog has been outputting the exact same games for 2 generations, does Japan Studio still exist ?More software and money leads to even more software and money or the best grass roots expansion where studios can expand, get more staff, get more teams and hence make more games and products for the consumer ala naughy dog and how they branched out, insomniac games, sony bend etc
And yet they are aparently working on a new IP and had a new IP in the last of us last gen as well, and before that they had Jak and Dexter. Sony has had more new IP's this gen than MS has had this gen and combined with last gen. What has MS given us that was green lit for a sequel this gen? The reason developers tout sony so much much like Corey just did a few days ago is because they let their developers be creative but also give them what they need to aide in their success aka money and resources. Something MS hasnt done well this generation at all. Sony generally with game development and studios has the biggest leg up on MS bar none.Sony tremendous success does not look like it is such a great thing for creativity and variety of first party games. And money made with gamepass and live also goes into studios. I don't see a difference.
You are probably highly satisfied with Sony output, but I find it not interesting at all. I also have close to zero interest in Microsoft ouput. However, I find more diversity in Microsoft first party games than Sony. This is all a question of personal preferences. And yet they are aparently working on a new IP and had a new IP in the last of us last gen as well, and before that they had Jak and Dexter. This is the dumbest strategy I've ever seen and doesn't inspire any confidence into the SeX."We want to make sure that if someone invests in Xbox between now and [Series X] that they feel that they made a good investment and that we’re committed to them with content. "
Wait for e3.
He aint interested but yet, here he is in the thread about a box he isnt interested in...I was talking in general buddy , MS always talking about power on the other hand Sony has a solid games library.. no denying that XSX is a beast but I'm not interested

Say what????
The fuck is buddy???I'm interested about general gaming threads thats why i post wherever i want buddy and its not a box ! come on its Xbox series X
Reminds me of this:This is the dumbest strategy I've ever seen and doesn't inspire any confidence into the SeX.

Anyway, you just expressed no interest in this particular box tho! So...
I had forgotten all about that quip. Gosh I miss those days. You rarely see large corporations employ such run of the mill stupidity in their marketing strategy these days. Nowadays its all about pissing off the majority of the customers, instead of just about all of them. Pissing everyone off equally is just so much more fun to comment on.Reminds me of this:
If you have an X there's a very good chance you are part of the hardcore that will want the series X either way.Seems like they will miss out on a lot of early adopter sales. It will make perfect sense for anyone with an X to just wait for a price drop on the Series X and get it a year after launch when truly exclusive stuff keeps dropping.
I wonder if there will also be a segment where X and Pro are supported but the base versions are not. The X is like 5x more powerful than the base console and the series X is only twice the X? It feels like game consoles are going to switch to some bastardized version of the PC upgrade model. At this point they should just sell you a motherboard to slide into the console box rather than having to buy a new console altogether.
How would games improve over today? Sony not Microsoft will be breaking too much ground here.Ah the Achilles' heel...
I'm not really a fan of this strategy... Although I like backward compatible, it kinda means you will get a bit prettier graphics / better fps on the series X compared to the ONE X for the first year.
I'm kinda looking for games to really improve and do something not possible on the current gen of consoles. This strategy is good for my wallet though, now I can just wait a few years until true next gen Xbox games will be available...
Looking forward to Sony's strategy.
and why do you think sonys ps5 will have games earlier? I think their exclusive games will come 2022 at the earlierst.
" The console power "
No thanks.. you see I love games I dont care if your console has a monster inside that's why Sony got my attention from the start
I have a questions
Hellblade 2 is a Microsoft exclusive or not?
0 chance it comes to PS5.
There's a decent chance most of them are cross-gen.
Same as Halo Infinite and most likely Forza.
