Your awesome game concepts!

Dang I think my dreamgame list is over 300 now so I only bore ya guys with a few I'm still sorting out in daydreams yet P.

1) Jaime Little Fish- Shooter/Platformer like hybrid that uses or rides big fish. Alot techno and extreme funky like levels and music. It would seem light hearted to most but those that looked closer as it goes on would see secretly it would be based on what a child dying/going through chemotherapy/type of cancer would feel like with the later levels/designs and her weakened state/side effects giving hints to that and last boss being symbolic of her finding peace alone and moving/passing on.
2) Generalizing I like to see more survial horror games without extreme gore yet still scary so everyone can enjoy, like Something Wicked This Way Comes. Koontz Snow novels Or Watchers in the Woods like. Perhaps play off the monster in closet theme we all go through as kids, use the dream world to break into reality. Alot cool old barns, windmill settings, spiders, and outdoor settings then typical rusted indoor SH of late.
3) Darkstalkers action rpg, come on Capcom!
4) An Adventure Genre return with new hot tech mechanics, perhaps where voice recognition makes it hot again replacing limited hot icon clicks with innovative voice commands to perform actions and interact with npcs and environs.
4) Likely too ambitious yet with the current tech but a High School sports like sim. You could even simulate few hours of classes/grades, friends, sneaking out of house and what sports you went out for. So you could play football, track, basketball, wrestling, etc depending on seasons and your choices all the way down to who you picked on, who your dating, what you did night before would all affect the outcome. You could even play flag football on weekends with your friends in great fall weather. It sure would teach EA a lession about NFL license if sports play were very good and tight. I'm not a sport's nut myself but this would likely be the only way I would get into one, though I'm sure thousands have had an idea like this as well ala Dawsons Creeks meets Insert sports title equals GTA like free world.
5) I must have million rpg ideas since neither jrpg or western ones have used alot serious story elements yet. Heck we have yet to have our own LOTR epic rpg in common overused fantasy settings let alone any main characters getting serious injured or disabled. I guess they figure todays gamer doesn't want to play as now gimped character but from an indie perpective there is alot to offer in that situation to a serious rpger even if was so only 1/3 of the game. Nor I remember playing as what I thought were the heroes of the game to find out what I did was actually evil and I am last boss of theh game and decide to protect myself or die. To save pure boredom I'll generalize only quick few.

a)Common things never used : An rpg as band of traveling rovers, you'd take your wagon and party through eerie desert birdlike world at first, performing at towns until you get sucked in as the "unlikely heroes" with a class like pransker/joker, performer, rogue/thief skills, etc where combat is more based on agility, avoidance, theft instead of brute force.

B)Scifi setting with main enemy manipulating time to change events that killed someone he cared for as he disrupts the world trying find right way to change that one event. I kinda gave up on this idea now that we have Groundhog day and Butterfly Effect out there it seems more like a ripoff but general idea of changing events and helping people could be addicting plus the lessons of do we have right to and does it all lead to same fate anyhow?
C) AO RPG market, I think if the focus was still on gameplay and story and not just relying on sex cutscenes that there is market for this. I always thought Dragon Knight's were rather fun back in the day and this genre along with Elf seemed to have died out ages ago and got replaced by lazy pc text adventures where you dont actually have much of game engine. There could be some hilarous battles as well, flashing enemies in disgust or glee to distract them, being suprised by which outcome, mooning, etc.

D)RPG that would use some new age elements for change, like reincarnation or more eastern mystical themes. Imagine a fantasy world where when you see the game over screen you would actually (die) be transported down into another "layer" of world, starting as a new person/party perhaps, eventually realizing you have a vague memory of living before and having meet your companions previously. This could be a rare opportunity for change, avoiding the boredom you find half way through rpg by adding new combat elements all over again each time. The goal would obviously be to survive each world as long as possible before dying, collecting and getting more powerful as that would effect your next "life"in some way as well trying find the answers you seek as you realize more and more you had an pre-life existence. Ultimate goal being to get to the final 5th layer of the core of the world against the "book of life". For with which each world created for us to experience there is a book that goes with it for us to interact with.(hints at bible included)
E)Action RPG- Twin male elves cursed to never meet as the legend goes. One by the snake and another by the moon. One by sword and one by bow. Based deeply in eygptian like lore. Setup where given the option to either play single, take turns controling them trying to steer them together or two player zelda like interface with friend or online bud. 50 percent would be about where curse be broken and then you play together or control both( AI, Voice recgonition for single player) as you take on the forces responsible for this curse as child and possibly cliche' world destruction. Nothing fancy just something that popped up during the days when we looking for more mature zelda killer and gamer still asking why there is not zelda like game friends can play together too often.

The Virtual Lounge.

Think animal cossing meets Cheers. A wifi only bar simulator where you can meet and greet new (real) people all the time, in real time of course. You would be able to go to other peoples lounges or create your very own. They could have bands playing and card games and some kind of dating setup. The game would have to allow a few dozen people per lounge and it would have to do away with teh stupid friend code crap, so you could just select any lounge that is online and go hang out and chat (not restricted text either). It should be 18+ game too to keep the little ones out. I'd even pay an MMO fee is it was good enough.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Massively multiplayer first-person action game set in large, contained, but realistically modeled environments such as a city or a tropical island, where the object is to be the last person alive, ala Battle Royal or Series 7.

Nothing too original or exciting so far, right? Ok, but here's the catch. The matches start on a set time, such as 10 am on Sunday. In order to participate in a match, you have to sign up for it before hand AND pay a reasonable entry fee in real-life currency. By default, you start out unarmed, but if you want to increase your chances, you can shell out more real-life currency to purchase as much weaponry as you can reasonably carry, such as a sniper rifle, a few mines/grenades and a P-90 sub-machine gun. If you chose to enter unarmed, you can pick up a variety of objects to be used as weapons (cars included) inside the game world and use them to obtain better weapons, like ambushing and killing another player and taking his weapon, killing an NPC cop and grabbing his shotgun and 9, etc. The matches last for as long as there is more than one person (or gang) alive in the game world. If people drop out, it's their problem.

Ok, here's the biggest draw, the surviving player (or gang) gets half of the real-life money made from the entry fees and weapon/item sales and the other half goes to the game makers.

Before each match, the players will be able to form "gangs" of unrestricted size. These players would win when only the members of their own gang are left alive, and the reward money would be split equally among the surviving gang members.

Another way for the makers to make money would be the in-game advertising in the form of billboards, posters and careful product placements.

The entire matches and stylish highlights would be available for anyone to watch, though not in real-time, as that would lead to cheating.

Hey Wookie, I think you should hit print and mail that to yourself, quick. :)

P.S. don't open it :lol

Seriously dude, I had my brilliant game ideas stolen before. Like in the early 80's, I was with a couple of friends and we were tripping out on shrooms and shit while playing some Donkey Kong on Coleco and I was like: "Man, they should like make a game that's kinda like Pitfall, only you play as this fat, little Donkey dude and there's like a lot of colorful mushrooms, phali and clouds around and you can like jump up and hit your head against a floating brick and a mushroom comes out and you can eat it and get all whacked out and strong and shit and run on the clouds and there would be like evil giant turtles all over the place, thowing boomerangs at you and shit and you can kill them with your ass and shit and then you can eat some weed and it makes you like throw fireballs and shit."

And my friend Shigeru was like "far out, man!"

This is an interesting idea. I really like it for the alternate ways of generating money. There's a million and one ways this idea could go horribly wrong, but the core concept is unique. Good job.

glad to see you copied your "idea" from Minish Cap

I didn't copy my idea from Minish Cap, and in fact I had forgot the game even had a related concept until it was mentioned here.

But the game would not play much like Minish Cap. There's no "dungeons", the entire concept is to solve problems using your powers. And there's no "designated" areas where is your small self you'll enter a detailed sub-area or something. You can use your power everywhere and it'd instantly change the perspective to the small you. Everything then becomes a new obstacle. And it'd also be in 3D, so anything you see will effect you. Like if a dude is walking around, as small you he can crush you. If you let the gerbil loose to scare your little sister, the gerbil can kill you. Etc..

Not to mention the awesomeness and dangers of the girl's shower!

I used to write videogame concepts as a kid, I really wanted to make videogames when I was a kid. When I turned 15 or so, I looked back at all my books upon books of ideas, and realized 90% of what I had were just stories for games, no real concepts for games themselves. So yeah that kinda changed how I viewed my future. Really the only good thigns I made up were about 20 new characters for Mortal Kombat, and 4 fatality ideas for each character in the game.

The only real idea I can think of right now was a BMX game where you used analog triggers to pedal, the idea being that you're fingers would start to get tired as you got close to the race. Yeah :lol

Im beginning to see why developers don't listen to gamers! :P

Kidding aside my idea would be an open ended batman game set in gotham city. It would be similiar to GTA except the goal is to stop crime and criminals.

I have too many...just too many.

My latest would be some sort of survival horror MMO..actually not "massive", i was thinking 10 to 16 characters, maximum.
A large urban area, a city that, as you might have guessed has been evacuated and put in quarantine: the only persons there are the players, everyone else is either gone or i don't know, dead, zombified, whatever.
As many explorable interiors as possible, houses, shops, malls and as many collectable and useable items as possible, clothes you can wear, hardware, weapons, flashlights, radios, crayons and all sort of stuff which is actually useful to the game or that you just can have fun using or collecting.
This is important because this must serve as an incentive to explore abandoned shops, to make it worthwhile and fun and at the same time give you the feeling that everything in the city is yours.
Point is, there's quite a lot of zombies/monsters too, and you'll have to team up with the other players to increase your chances of survival and solve the game (i don't know, maybe every character will have a different special ability ala maniac mansion and you'll need all of them to finish the game/kill the big monster or something like that) and the problem is, you all start the game in a different random area and have to find each other.

That's why the players must not know each other when they enter the game, so that they don't have the chance to set up a meeting point before the game starts. That's where the radios and crayons become useful: for example, a crayon will allow me to write on walls (you'll have to do this manually by moving a cursor with your left stick :P ) "i was here at 9:30, i'm going north, i'll be in ***** " or i can write down my radio frequency, provided i've found one and if someone happens to read it, he can try and contact me so we can arrange a meeting and then go look for the others.
Basically, you can leave signs you've been there so that the others can find you.
Of course your mic will only work for proximity chat and you won't be able to contact the other players (not even outside of the game, since you won't be told their gamertags until you actually meet in the game) unless you are near them or by radio. You can shout, the louder your voice in the mic, the farther it will be heard, but zombies/monsters will hear it too...and it's one bite and you're gone.

All this should allow for some great gaming moments when you're hiding somewhere and someone sneaks behind you, scaring you to death and in typical zombie movie fashion you'll realize it's another survivor when you're about to shoot him in the head...
Oh, and so on, there's much more, of course and this is just something i thought of very recently. I have many other "awesome game concepts" in mind, so if any developer is listening, hey, presto, contact me and secure the rights to develop my games before someone else does !
