Can't really think of one I'd describe as my favourite. I have plenty I enjoy on a silly teenage boy level, like JC Denton, Solid Snake, and so on, but I can't think of a game with writing good enough that I really just love a character. I usually appreciate games on a more whole world basis, rather than individual characters.

Yeah, no favourites, really. Even if I was to think of particular game worlds I have many which appeal to me for very different reasons, and on different days I'd pick different ones as my favourites.

From Dragon Age: Origins: Sten going toe-to-toe wth the Archdemon. I was having trouble with the final boss and was about to get wiped again as Sten was the last of my party still standing and would have fallen with another hit, but this time the same could be said of the Archdemon. Beaten and dejected I started to put down my controller until Sten informed the fallen god of he was dealing with proclaiming:

'You battle a Qunari!' just before landing a critical hit on the Archdemon to trigger to the final scene.

Tough one.

When I was younger I never really stuck to any one character.. except this one.

Destin Faroda from Ogre Battle 64. His name was bad ass, he looked like a bad ass. He kicked all kinds of ass, and I had to work my butt off to unlock him. I could never really explain exactly why I loved him so much, but I still get giddy when I see him on my annual Ogre Battle 64 run.

Nowadays though, it's probably this guy.

Not even gonna explain it, you all know why he's awesome and you all get goosebumps when his song comes on.

GLaDOS - Portal 2

Greatest AI construct in all of gaming. This bitch might not be quite so horrifyingly evil as AM but she's pretty much the lynchpin of the Portal series' charm. Such a great character.

Mario is the character that understand me more. He's just a fat plumber with ugly staches on his face, yet his bravery made him an hero.

Also I really love Wario too. He is fattier and uglier than Mario and doesn't care about anything but easy money. He's like my lazy day self.
