Yu-Gi-Oh! is heading to the 3DS for the first time on June 26th, in the upcoming card-battling title Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival. This will also be the first game set in the Zexal universe, and will follow the likes of Yuma, Tori, Kite and Shark as they try to win the World Duel Carnival.

There are 11 playable characters in total, each with their own story and bespoke card decks, meaning that users can jump straight into the action with their favourite character. World Duel Carnival is a great game for first-time Yu-Gi-Oh! players, with step-by-step tutorials and an Easy Mode allowing users to get to grips with the game’s mechanics, before going on to learn more complex strategies. More experienced players, meanwhile, will want to build their own custom deck, and the game allows users to do precisely this, with over 5,500 unique cards to build it from.

Expect the game to take full advantage of the handheld’s glasses-free 3D capabilities, with card activation animations popping out of the screen during battles, and beautifully drawn anime cut scenes in between duels for users to enjoy. The bottom screen, meanwhile, will allow players to manipulate the Duel Field with intuitive touch screen controls.

World Duel Carnival will be available for the 3DS either in physical cartridge format, or as a digital download via the eShop, both of which have a RRP of €39,95. The boxed version comes with three exclusive collectible cards too: Snow Plow Hustle Rustle, Night Express Knight and Special Schedule!

This had better come to NA. We haven't has a Yugioh game since that second 5Ds game and that shit was terrible!

It's so weird...I see "3DS" and and upcase "z" followed by "e" and "a" in a thread title, and I feel the urge to click.

Even when I realize it's not going to happen, at least before E3.

that was the season before. Zexal is pretty much saint seiya.

Shame tag force 3 never made it to the states, and we get this garbage of a half ass effort that somehow looks worse than the ds gamse.

Sorry you skipped the best season then.

Anyway, I always preferred the games on Sony's consoles--the UI felt more advanced to me. Still, this coming stateside would be nice.

I'd be shocked if we didn't get an announcement for the US by the end of the week. Maybe no one is up at Konami USA yet?

Damn, great timing, I'm on a huge card game trip at the moment. Loving Hex and I just bought 200 booster pack codes for Pokemon TCG Online. I'll gladly pick this up as well, bought all the previous entries minus 5Ds.

I pretty much stopped keeping up with the actual TCG after the "Ancient Sanctuary" booster packs came out. All the extra shit they've added since in GX and onward is completely over my head. If anything, some of the newer stuff like the monsters whose presence alone lets you summon like five other monsters feel like half-assed attempts to make the game more accessible to newbies; why have to work your way to having a good set of monsters in play with actual strategy?

I dunno, maybe I'm just bitter. Battle City Yu-Gi-Oh! was the best IMO. GX, 5DS and the others are just meh.

Approaching this with cautious optimism because I really enjoy the card game in the past.

Now just announce it for NA! I've been waiting for a Yugioh game to come out on 3DS pretty much since forever! I did pick up one of the DS games during the long wait, but only ended up beating the story. I would've played more, but the friend who agreed to play it alongside me decided to just never play it, and the community was already dead.

Also, this game doesn't do anything as lame as making all the (extra) duelists monsters or w/e it was that game did, right? And no crap like forced motorcycle segments?

Didn't see this thread. Oh well.

The game is useless to me since primal origins isn't supported.

Considering "Yu-Gi-Oh" is about the only thing Konami does these days that's game-related of any kind, that's kind of sad.

Including the new one? I was interested in picking Millenium Duels up.

Don't. Has the same issues as Decade Duels. Ridiculous difficulty, earning cards is restricted by getting them randomly w/ each match instead of having a card/booster pack shop like previous YGO titles, shitty presentation, matches go slow, etc.

I'll wait for Tagforce 7 on Vita.

Yes, I am willing to wait the rest of my life.

Besides, anyone remember Nightmare Troubador? I get the sense that this game is the 3DS equivalent of that.

Tagforce 7 for Vita would be awesome. We just have to believe!

I still have Nightmare Troubador. Beating that felt good.

At least my exodia counter isn't banned.
Good to see those character designs are only improving
If this is sarcasm, ARC-V has better human character designs IMO. I did like Zexal's Barian lord designs though.

At least you are honest

I'm fine if its Nightmare Troubador, which was clearly a stopgap between Ds and GBA. Eternal Duelst Soul was the same on GBA. As long as this sells, we will probably get a WC 2015 next year.

That said, how this isn't on iOS yet is kind of dumb.

No-one would buy this on iOS at it's price tag. A lot of coding goes into these because yugioh rulings are confusing as fuck so they take forever to make.

Sure, but there are Magic the Gathering iOS games (DOTP) and Hearthstone is fucking gigantic on iPad. No excuses.

That was the last Yu-Gi-Oh! game that I bought and really enjoyed. To this day I regret trading it in to GameStop. I just haven't been interested in rebuying and having to invest all that time again to rebuild the bad-ass card collection I had amassed. But I'll tell ya, being able to acquire an Egyptian God Card and use it in a duel was great fun.
