Zelda in November?

When I preordered Zelda: TP today (I know, way too late) I was informed by the EB employee that Zelda, in the system, has been pushed back to November 2006, and was obligated to tell me this.

Now I don't know about you guys, but I am sure as hell hoping EB is wrong on this because I haven't heard one thing. Are EB higher-ups just getting cocky over the Revolution controller speculation?

Also, Odama doesn't have a date in their system, which is retarted.

Looks like you got screwed. EB was suppose to give you a bonus disc when you preorder the game that has Windwaker remade in realistic graphics.

If GAF doesn't know, the rest of the world don't. Especially EB.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has been delayed a whole FUCKING year. (notice how happy I am)

I wouldn't care so much if Nintendo actually had some console games planned for the first half of year, but fofoforget about it :(

EB sometimes get info direct from Nintendo that we don't know. I remember RE4. It was gamestop or EB that first revealed a january releasedate that no one believed in that turned to be correct.

IF IT ISN'T RELEASED IN APRIL GAF CAN SHOOT ME, BEAT ME WITH A BASEBALL BAT, AND URINATE IN MY MOUTH, BECAUSE I'M PRETTY DAMN SURE IT'S GONNA BE RELEASED IN APRIL.

YOU ARE AWARE EBGAMES AND SUCH HAVE PLACEHOLDERS THEY USE TO SCARE US/RILE UP THE FANBOYS. STOP MAKING THREADS AND START RAVING. DANCE. DANCE. GOD. INVENTED. THE RAVE. DANCE DANCE.

If you're so sure, then you wouldn't hesitate to put your gaf account on the line

No, see, I'm sadistic and love to speculate release dates, especially a game we all put so much blind faith into. GAF strives on that.

However I admit to being unoriginal with citing EBGames, but who cares. Rave!

I don't see how pre-ordering now is late. If anything, you pre-ordered really early.

I always wait to pre-order a Zelda game until Nintendo has announced any bonuses, and EB/GameStop offer their bonus material.

Hahah, true. But I know people who ordered WW a year in advance.

Best typo ever. :P

For kicks, I just called my local GameStop, where I pre-ordered Zelda last fall, before the delay, and the guy I talked to said definitely for sure April 4. I asked him twice just to make sure I heard him right.

Do I believe him? No. :lol

From what I hear, it's so good that Nintendo is considering not releasing it at all. It's just too good, and may just render all other games inconsequential. They don't want to harm the industry.

Plus, they're worried that someone will copy the ideas that make its action/adventure-dungeon-crawling gameplay SO revolutionary.

Oh, and they've thought up some great new features to add to make a title in one of gaming's oldest and more repetitive franchises even more groundbreaking.

The game will not come out before being shown off at a game conference first.

Any guess if Zelda will be at GDC?

Well unless we're ambushed by an "Iwata will deliver the keynote" announcement, there's only going to be two guys from Nintendo at GDC this year and they're not talking about Zelda. One will discuss a case study of Animal Crossing: WW and the other will talk about Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Now either the Wi-Fi dude is going to talk about Zelda because Twilight Princess is, in fact, online and Revolution-bound... or Zelda will be a no-show.

April was never an announced date. People are just morons. Basically what happened is that Nintendo delayed the game into the next fiscal year. For them, their next fiscal year begins in April. People jumped the gun and said "it's coming out in april" because of that. Nintendo never said April.

yep this man speaks the truth.

When people put their accounts on the line nothing ever happens. Numerous people put their accounts on the line that the PSP would outsell the DS 2:1 this holiday season. As we saw, nothing ever happened.

Broshnat. About 1 year ago.

I can't wait till this game comes out and sucks like Wind Waker.

QF...hey, wait a minute! This is the NON-celda one we're talking about here. Won't happen, I'm afraid.

Yes, because the fact that it isn't toon shaded automatically means the game is going to be dramatically improved. :rolleyes

Well, if the non cel shading doesn't convince you, then the fact that Shiggy said this game has the most resources and attention ever focused on probably should. ;)

no but 3+years in development sure increases the chances of a damn good game. Don't you think.

Not really. But Nintendo hasn't fucked up a Zelda game yet so I'm not seeing it this time around. But no guarantee it will be better than Wind Waker.

Zelda: TP will launch day and date in November with Revolution, it will still playable on GCN, but with enhanced features on Rev (better graphics, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, maybe some Revmote functionality).

Book it.

Look at the dissapointing sales of Metroid Prime 2 and Pikmin 2 ... GameCube sequels are *tanking*. By positioning it more as a Rev launch title, they can increase sales of this title by 2-3 million copies IMO at least ... people will be buying it into 2007 as they pick up their Rev systems.

If the game was actually coming in April ... c'mon, that's like 3 months away. We would have seen some new media by now.

Something is definitely up.

You're saying that longer development time from Nintendo doesn't increase the chances? Man you need to go through the probability theory.

yeah right now I am sadly leaning more towards november than april.

but i'm still right. "nintendo never said, nintendo never said, nintendo never said" what? the obvious?

I do know it isn't coming in April, and you will lose. It will be a wonderful two weeks. :)

you know, i was hoping it launched before summer cause i plan on moving back to jersey, and i'd rather not have to pull my preorder money out, and re-reserve after i move.

but whatever. it comes out when it comes out. you're telling me there isnt enough to keep you busy until then?

You Zelda fans need to stop complaining.

It was SIX YEARS between Zelda III and Zelda: OoT, and Mario fans still haven't gotten another Mario title since 2002.

Another six months is not going to kill you, and in the end will probably ensure a better game all around and better sales for this title -- which IS important ... if this game comes out only on GameCube in the middle of spring/summer it is going to underperform and probably end up in the bargain bins with unsold GameCube systems by fall.

If they move it as more of a launch title with Rev around Thanksgiving, you will see much higher sales overall and that will encourage Nintendo to also continue to make so-called "big budget" titles.

The other thing is ... Nintendo would never release a game this big in spring anyway ... it's like a movie studio releasing their biggest movie in Feburary instead of the summer movie season.

The extra months of dev should maybe let them polish some of the dungeons/side quests and also enable enough time to include some Revolution-specific features/a decent visual upgrade.

In the end its win-win all around IMO.

Wind Waker was a big game and it was released in spring...though I agree TP is even bigger.
