PAL Charts - Week 49

Sony's own market research revealed that 13-17 year old boys were the strongest demographic for PSP. DS appeals strongly to virtually all demographics, that's why it's so successful.

This is the same for the consoles. Sony and Microsoft are very strong with high school and slightly older males while Nintendo gets everybody from the kids to the adults to the females in college.

Norway:
Week 49, 2008 - All Formatshttp://www.vg.no/spill/topp20konsoll.hbs?liste=2&uke=50&aar=2008

The Norwegian chart is always a week later than the UK one, so it's actually comparable to Week 48, not 49 (notice that it's the first week for Resistance 2).

Wow, then it gets even more confusing as the source site itself states "week 50" :lol
Then it would be the same for the netherlands, I assume (judging from R2)?

You have no idea what I've been called for the last few years. Everything from Sonunit, to Xbot, Ninendork, PC junkie etc. You name it! I've been a Sony fanboy, Microsoft fanboy, Nintendo fanboy and even an Apple fanboy according to you guys.
Are you reffering to me as well here? If so, i havnt called you anything here. I even said that you are probably a nice guy :) I didnt want to start a big arguement against you either since i really dont like to do stuff like that, i was just asking a question since i was curious about what you ment with some of the PS3 comments, that was all :) I hope it was no problem? :\

Yes, I've been much harcher when it comes to the PS3 and Sony fanboys these days because of a simple reason: You won't find a more arrogant group than Sony fans.

You know, I was a semi Sony fanboy myself back in the PS1 generation and in between the PS1 and the PS2. And I have one simple conclusion. Sony fans today acts COMPLETELY identical to the average Nintendo fan back in the late 90s/start of 2000. The same arrogant attitude. You don't have to look any further than to Wollan, Private Hoffman, Leech, SPwolf etc etc. You always know what they're going to spit out of their mouth when it comes to "fair" discussion. The worst thing is that they act like they aren't Sony fans and think they are 100% neutral. That's the vomiting part. Just like Nintendo fans were back in the N64/Cube days.

Remember back in the early Gamcube days? It's scary how much it compares to the early PS3 days which we are in now. Sony fans with a RIDICULOUS amount of spinning and their expecations when it comes to sales, performances etc. is ALL over the place, and changes faster then I change my underwear.

But hey, it entertainment! Can't wait to see Private Hoffman's, Wollan's etc reactions come this Thursday (NPD). It's going to be a ride.

Obviously everything has to do with how the system you are a fan of perform. And that's the reason why I REALLY hope the PS3 starts to pick up soon, so maybe Sony fans can take of their arrogant masks. But things aren't looking to hot for the system.
Ok, i see what you mean, thanks for the detailed and a good answer! :)

I wasnt really that active on gaming forums like this in the last generation with the Gamecube, Playstation 2 and Xbox 1, so i am not quite sure how the situation was around the fanboys back then, but i guess that there could be some similarities between the Nintendo fanboys and the Sony fanboys like there is today as you say.

I edited my post alittle here when i first asked you by the way, but maybe you saw it, i just added that i think it is ok and fair to point out things, i dont mind that at all! :) For example when some people said something like "the Tomb Raider Underworld demo didnt seem to help much!" and "Exclusive DLC to the Xbox 360, Edios bet on the wrong console". It kinda looked like it the first week, so i guess some of the people who wrote these comments me only from the first week, but i am not sure :\ But i would still wait atleast some weeks to see how the sales are going :)

I don't know whether anyone else has parsing scripts, but I have been fomatting them manually. If you can parse Norway charts or whatever charts you can each week, it'd be of great help.

Well I said multiple times in the last thread that I managed that I could share the scripts for some EU charts. Thought you already had them :p

They work with the greasemonkey plugin for firefox

Here are the links.

UK, Ireland and Denmark
http://felipeko.googlepages.com/ukCharts.user.js

Sweden
http://felipeko.googlepages.com/SwedenCharts.user.js

Norway
http://felipeko.googlepages.com/PalCharts.user.js

I didn't make them, felipeko did, and he did an awesome job. Many thanks to him again :)

is call of duty world at war wii in stock at stores?

I've been lookin' for it for roughly three weeks now, I've only found a copy marked €59 so obviously I didn't bite, now I don't even know if I'll eventually buy the game because I have so many stacked up :-/

I don't get it though, sure the game definitely underperformed on Wii but what the hell if I've seen it on the shelves for people to buy besides the first shipment on launch day.

[Italy as usual folks]

It's actually not that confusing. The chart was published in week 50, but charts the games that sold two weeks ago.

Really interesting charts!

If it wasn't for Gears and Fable Nintendo would have won at a canter.

And 360 beat the Playstation family in terms of unit sales, Uk no longer Sonyland confirmed.

Hope we get the charts every month.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
What's the record for non-bundled worldwide software?

I'm trying to see if Mario Kart Wii could beat it..

Wow at LittleBigPlanet.

It's had a MASSIVE TV push this last week or so in the UK with regular, varied and long ads. I'm not surprised it's had an effect - will be interesting to see how long it lasts.
