the winter stuff won't go away until tuesday right?
so I can put off finishing these stupid jumping puzzles until tomorrow night?

man, these glitches on this second jumping puzzle I am doing are really souring me on guild wars in general... these are some terrible glitches royally screwing me over again and again -_-.

Out of curiosity, which JP are you talking about here? I've done every JP in the game probably 20+ times, and I can't think of any that have actual glitches or bugs.

What happens on the 24th? Wasn't the update the 16th?

ArenaNet goes on stage at PAX on the 24th, for a big announcement.

As for the GW2 subreddit: if the entire reddit website vanished from planet earth tomorrow, nothing of value would be lost.

Ahh right! Of course - the designers work work on design, while other teams would make art, sound and such, right?
I understand why they wouldn't reveal it too. Speaking of which, is GW2 reddit less toxic?

It's really got progressively worse as time goes on. At times it can just be a cesspool of people whining about what they want and that's all that matters. Oh and my personal favorite is when people say XYZ isn't content because they don't like it. Or when people say that nothing is content unless it's instanced dungeons/fractals.

Spekk’s Laboratory jumping puzzle in Caldeon
I died multiple times to the following bugs
1. My character randomly stalls for a half of a second ruining my timing. I am using a wired keyboard to make sure this doesn't happen in games.
2. My camera starts randomly flipping around causing it to become impossible to tell where I am.
3. I started teleporting to random places around the portals ending up well away from where I should be able to reach, sometimes straight from the platform into a nearby wall or right into the lava.
4. My character basically looks like she was knocked over in mid air and just falls to the ground.

the final run I was doing the teleportation thing was going on again, but that time it just teleported me from one platform to the next across pretty much all of them to the finish o_O;

Hmm. I have a few thoughts, but some of that stuff seems weird. Your character randomly stalling doesn't sound quite right. The camera freaking out is also not normal. Teleporting to random places is... not normal. Getting knocked over mid-air does happen if the turrets in the center manage to nail you, which is why you want to keep up a good momentum.

Out of curiosity, did you know that every time you reach a platform between the vanishing panels, you've hit a checkpoint? You can talk to the golem right at the start (where you're placed if you die), and teleport back to the last platform you reached. That cuts out a LOT of the frustration of the puzzle.

I just went and redid that JP myself, and can get from start to finish with no issues, so I'm wondering if you might not be getting lag, either internet latency, or something weird to do with framerate. The camera wonking out does bug me too, but I can't really tell what's going on from here.

Are you located in the US?

I've done Spekk's and a bunch of other jumping puzzles tons of times and I can honestly say I've never seen any of these bugs... the camera flips out if you get too close to a wall and try to look at a weird angle but that shouldn't be necessary for this puzzle (or most, if not all things in the game).

If it's still giving you some trouble by the time you read this, hit me up in game (appletoasty.7062) and I'll port you if you want the chest/achievement =p EDIT: I'm going to bed nowish, but I'll be on again tomorrow for a bit between 10-11pm EST if anyone needs last minute JP ports for the wintersday thing.

You sound like you need a GAF team to investigate and show you around the jumping puzzle ropes.

i did eventually figure out the checkpoint system, and thus eventually finished. I figured the getting hit thing was meant to happen. I didn't figure that the teleporting and camera stuff was supposed to happen though. In general those started triggering a few seconds before the platforms vanished. The camera would just go crazy as the sound that the platform is going to vanish started.

As for lag, I suppose it's a slight chance, by my internet in general is steady and it was only with that puzzle I had any of these problems. The puzzle before and after didn't see any of these issues repeated (the one after just liked to get me stuck on invisible walls :p)

but yeah I am in the US.

I managed to get it done when the game stopped hating on me. It was just going from checkpoint 3 to 4 that was hard because of all the game freak outs, after I finally got past that one I did the rest in like two tries :/

You sound like you need a GAF team to investigate and show you around the jumping puzzle ropes.
I might need something tomorrow. I got 3 of the 6 jumping puzzles down, but as a level 15 character I don't have much of the world explored so I have to do a ton of running to get to the puzzles. At least they aren't like day 2 of Warming Grawnk’s Heart where I had to run through a level 35 area in order to get the item to make his food. That was a long run of dodging sure death.

I finished everything in Queensdale tonight, hit lvl 15 and decided to go into Divinity's Reach for the first time ever. Figured it'd be a small-ish hub area with a few vendors and that's it. NOPE. BOOM, here's another full area with vistas and points of interest and everything.

God. DAMN. I love it. I'm 6.5 hours in, haven't even stepped foot in the second area, and I'm already in love with this game.

That's just hilarious to me...you expected a small area and got the most glorious city ever created in gaming. Oh and get this, even though you think you "finished" Queensdale, I guarantee you there's still events and little hidden stuff you haven't found yet. The game is just littered with that kind of stuff and you can still find new things even if you've been playing since launch.

I was done with it as soon as I saw the "Fake_" accounts. If mods allow that junk, I want nothing to do with the place.

Bought all the wintersday junk I wanted. Still need to complete the puzzle. I'm sure I can do it in one night. .

You're going to have a hell of a time getting the Orrian chest (mostly lvl 80 area). You'll almost certainly need some max level escorts to get you through. I do stuff on Monday nights so I'll only be on for an hour or so tomorrow but it might be worth asking some gaffers if they can help you through.

There's a lot one can say about Guild Wars 2. But nobody can accuse it of being small:

Count me as another person that might need some Orr JP guidance tomorrow.
I'm cutting it super close because of work, but I should be able to log an hour, probably a couple hours after reset.

Got the Queensdale and Morgan's Spiral chests already, should be able to manage Sparky by myself, and haven't even looked at what the other three are.
:(

Kos helped me in Karka Rush so I'm gonna lay off the insults for at least a week :p

Look mate - You can't trust Engineers. There is just no way he was not tinkering on some perverse contraption to seduce you with some karka based agenda. And trust me, if anyone got crabs - It would be Kos! His avatar scratches his crotch all the time.

Excuse me, don't lump all engineers together.

I don't trust *you* people. You're too smooth.
The fact of the matter is that Engineers are cocky. Typical of people in STEM.

You think that just because you can rocket jump and throw elixirs at people, you are somehow elevated to higher levels! What about Ashodin, huh? Do you really honestly think that the entire thing about collecting greatswords is not a deep seated need to compensate for something?

Warriors and Guardians, we're not appreciated. We're just expendable manual laborer! But we get the job done! We don't just propell or turret out of thin air like Engineers! Engineers. Pft. I would rather trust a Growl than a Engineer!

The leveling extravaganza continues with my oldest alt.

My Scroll of Knowledge stacks have taken a hit too, but this is the reason I was saving those, I suppose. Can't horde them forever.

yeah... just looked and read the next two jumping puzzles. one at level 62 one at level 80....
I likely won't be able to finish these puzzles without help and the puzzles aren't really fun to do at all. Might just give up and instead actually go back to playing the game in an enjoyable manor.

Guys, I could use some advice on how to proceed with my Sunrise adventure. I know some/most of you guys have some form of Legendary weapon so I figure you could give some tips on how to get their as painlessly as possible without outright buying it with real money :)

So far, I've gathered 200 skill points for the Bloodstone Shard and bought that one a few minutes ago. I got the Superior Sigil of Strength and Gift of Exploration a long time ago. I also got the Gift of Battle from WvW today. I'm currently at 160g and I'm aiming for 200g for the title. With that I'm intending to buy the 100 Icy Runestones. I've also been yearning for the Desert Rose skin since forever so I was gonna get that with the rest but then I saw that I need to be lvl 400 in TWO professions in order to make the Gift of Metal/Light, so maybe I should focus on that instead (and ignore Leatherwork for now?). I also have 100 Laurels lying around now, which I could use to get some of the necessary Obsidian Shards (or turn into cash, and/or get myself at least one ascended amulet as already suggested).

As for Mystic Clovers, those are apparently a lot more expensive than I thought but I do have over 200 Mystic Coins at least, but only 33 Globs of Ectoplasm so far. I'm only at 8 skill points left but I was thinking that perhaps I should get the Crystals with 139 skill points some day? But there seems to be a RNG element to getting these Clovers? Not to mention that I still need the Dawn precursor :lol

If I'm reading the wiki correctly, I first need 250 Globs for the Gift of Fortune AND an additional ~231 for the Clovers? Crazy! Gift of Magic/Might are currently hopelessly expensive and time consuming with me probably having gathered less than 10% of each ingredient the last 2.5 years :/ I suppose I could make some more money if I emptied my bank completely of everything except the needed ingredients but I'm sure it's still not enough by a longshot. Thankfully, Gift of Ascalon seems to be one of the least painful items to get at 500 Ascalonian Tears (I'm at 60+ after one or two visits to that dungeon).

It's almost as if buying the weapon for real money is the better way to go after all xD I do wonder how people actually manage this.

My recommendation would have been to get the Mystic Clovers first, not the Bloodstone Shard, but too late for that, still get try and get the Clovers out of the way first, Clovers have a failure rate in the forge and when you fail you will get T6 mats or Lodestones, you want to see how many T6 mats you get from your Clover failures so then you can proceeding in the buying the rest, i would leave the Icy Runestones for your final purchase, with your gold amount i would slowly work on 1 thing at a time...

Alright, yeah that might've been a smarter move, oh well :) I noticed that you can also get most mats from loot bags, which come at a much cheaper price than buying the mats directly and the same can be done with Globs if you find very cheap rare weapons (I saw some things at 30s instead of 39s, so it's a small savings I guess). Though you gotta get lucky as hell of course. Seems that "crafting" the T6 mats in the forge with lower tiers is quite a bit less painful as well, assuming you have Philosopher's Stones up the wazzoo xD Anyway, gonna keep on trucking up to 200g for starters. I laughed for a while when I saw that the mats alone would be around 1000g if bought on the TP. Crazy :)

You might find this useful: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...DUUpXTVBIdm5qWmc&f=true&noheader=false&gid=12 For deciding when to promote and when to just sell your lower tier mats. In general promoting anything but Tier 1 to Tier 2 is not profitable (unless RNG greatly smiles on you - the number of mats you get output is randomly selected within a range). You might be better off turning those lower tier mats into straight up gold and simply buying the T6 mats with the money.

If we happen to be on at the same time tonight (again, 10-11ish EST) I'll be happy to escort you through some of the higher level areas and teleport you up the jumping puzzles. If you don't want to do this, no big deal, just thought I'd offer =) The offer stands for anyone else who needs help with the JPs tonight as well.

Season 2 Finale tomorrow...god damn it has been a long wait. I really don't like these long breaks.

Tomorrow will be a long ass day at work.

Looking forward to never opening another Winter's Day Box till end of 2015.

Great, thanks. Will definitely look into that later when I have more of those Clovers. When you say sell my lower tier mats, I assume you mean everything but T5 and T6?

Everything but T6, even. You could use T5 mats to make rares to throw into the forge if you're feelin' lucky but even then you're probably better off just selling them.

Another thing to consider is that you might need some of the lower tier mats (i.e. not T6) to level up your crafting... get all the ones you need to 400/500 first and then start selling everything off :)

Okay. Well I intend to follow the normal guides for leveling armorsmithing and weaponsmithing on gw2crafts soon at the rough cost of 40g so I'll be buying my mats either way I think :)

I was gonna write the order of things I do when getting a legendary but I realized that no one cares in that much detail.

Anyways, the best single advice is to list anything you want to sell for money on the tp (don't dump it off to the buy orders for less that they're worth). And use buy orders when topping off on t6 or lodestones and don't buy them at the listed price. You'll save a lot of money this way.

Please, do share :) And yeah, I only typically sell instantly if we're talking about losing a few coppers or so.

o/ I would care since somehow you have made so many Legendaries.

You've made several too, whatever you're doing works.
My method was begging in guild chat for money/t6 mats and winning the lottery a few times because you know its rigged in favor of officers.

I believe when I left I had already attained the rank of Admiral. No way will I accept a demotion to Petty Officer.
You have lost your mind. There is no such thing as Admiral.
Did you really need that 25Gigs from GW2 when you uninstalled it?
